Chapter 48 Take Down Sloane!
Chapter 48 Take Down Sloane!
Nova pulled herself together.
She studied the woman, who looked surprisingly determined, and asked coldly. “You work at the Royal Fencing Club? When did you start? What’s your specific
job there?”
“Ms. Hale, are you accusing me of lying?”
Nova narrowed her eyes and said nothing.
The woman calmly pulled out an ID badge from her bag. “Mr. Voss, every word I’m saying is true. Everyone in New York knows how much you dote on your wife. I just couldn’t stand watching Ms. Hale deceive you like this!”
Her words struck a raw nerve and trampled on Kael’s pride–the one thing he couldn’t tolerate.
Even the calmest man would struggle to stay composed in this situation.
Nova’s heart tightened. She looked up at Kael, her face pale, as she tried to speak. “There’s something wrong with that ID badge–I can tell.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, she regretted them. She laughed bitterly at her own naivety. Why would Kael defend her?
“Check it.” Kael’s voice was deep and sharp.
He tightened his grip on her hand.
Nova froze.
Sam took the ID badge from the woman and immediately had it verified by the relevant authorities.
The wait was agonizing.
Nova’s heart pounded in her chest.
The woman stood confidently, repeating, “Mr. Voss, I’d never dare lie to you.”
Sam walked back over, his expression serious. “Mr. Voss, the ID is real.”
Kael’s face turned icy, then he let out a cold “hmm.”
Nova could hear the anger simmering in his voice. She knew him too well–the calmer he seemed, the angrier he was.
The woman saw her chance and added fuel to the fire. “Mr. Voss, I’m telling you the truth! I saw Ms. Hale get out of a taxi this morning, right after you left. Jaxs came down personally to take her to Mr. Thorne’s room. They stayed in there for over half an hour!”
She even pulled out a bank card. “If you don’t believe me, check this–there’s a transfer record. And if that’s not enough, have someone trace the IP address. You’ll see where the money came from–one of Mr. Thorne’s branch companies!
“Besides that, the Royal Fencing Club’s security cameras were working fine. Why would they suddenly ‘break‘ today? I’m sure you’ll find the answer if you check, Mr. Voss.”
The temperature in the room dropped to freezing.
Nova’s face turned as white as a sheet. She panicked–she never thought Corin would bribe a Royal Fencing Club employee after she left, and she never expected things to spiral out of control like this.
What was she going to do?
If it came down to it, she’d have to tear off the mask and face Kael head–on.
Right now, Kael’s face was cold enough to freeze ice.

Chapter 48 Take Down Sloane!
A man and a woman, alone in a room for over half an hour–what could they have been doing? Just drinking coffee and chatting? Who would believe that?
The more he thought about it, the tighter his heart felt–like it was being squeezed in a vice.
He gestured to Sam, his jaw set like stone. “Check it.”
Sam nodded and took the bank card, sending it to the tech department immediately.
Ten minutes later, Sam returned, looking troubled. He hesitated, then said honestly, “Mr. Voss, this card received a $15,000 transfer this morning, And… the money came from one of Corin’s branch companies.”
It felt like a thunderbolt had struck Nova. Her face went pale instantly.
“Is that so?” Kael’s voice was mocking. He took her hand gently–too gently–and glanced at her.
His gaze was overwhelming.
Nova’s heart trembled as she frowned. “Kael, I didn’t do anything. You just said you’d believe me!”
Kael nodded, his expression unreadable. His thumb brushed the back of her hand. His cold voice held a hint of hurt–and a hint of cruelty. “Then give me a reason to believe you.”
He still didn’t trust her.
His cold words cut like a knife, piercing her heart.
He’d believed a stranger’s lies without a second thought. But he’d doubted her–the woman who’d loved him for nine years, who’d given him her whole heart, who’d never looked at anyone else.
Nova bit her lip and laughed bitterly. She’d never felt so hopeless.
She took a deep breath and looked at the woman coldly, her smile not reaching her eyes. “You said I was with Corin. Which room were we in?”
The woman frowned. “A lounge!”
Nova nodded slowly, her tone meaningful. “A lounge. The only lounges at the Royal Fencing Club are on the third floor. So that means you were working on the third floor, and you saw Jaxs take me to Corin’s lounge?”
The woman replied, “Yes! I was delivering drinks and snacks to the guests on the third floor. I saw you go in–and you didn’t come out for over half an hour!”
“I see.” Nova suddenly smiled. She looked at Kael–his face was as dark as a storm cloud.
The woman found Nova’s smile infuriating. She frowned, growing impatient. “Mr. Voss, Ms. Hale doesn’t deserve your kindness. She’s just a cheap, deceitful
woman-”
“Shut up!” Sam couldn’t listen anymore. He snapped at her, “You’re still lying? Tell us–who gave you that ID and bank card?”
The woman’s eyes widened. She looked innocent, even holding up three fingers as if swearing an oath. “They’re mine! I’ve worked at the Royal Fencing Club for three years–you can ask any of the staff there! Every word I said is true!”
“Still lying?” Sam lost his temper. “The third floor of the Royal Fencing Club is a training area–there are no lounges there! The only VIP lounges are on the sixth
floor!”
The woman froze. Panic washed over her as she realized she’d fallen into Nova’s trap.
“No… I made a mistake, I didn’t see Ms. Hale and Mr. Thorne on the third floor. It was the sixth floor! Yes, the sixth floor!”
“Enough!” Kael roared, his eyes so deep they looked like they could devour her.
The woman’s face turned white. Her legs shook so violently she could barely stand.
“Mr. Voss, believe me! Nova and Corin are definitely having an affair–please believe me!”

He Cried at Mr. Tune
Chapter 4 Take Down Sloane
Nova’s brows furrowed and she stared at the woman in disgust How could she lie so casually about something like this?
She was about to speak when Karl moved first. He grabbed the woman’s jaw, his fingers digging into her skin. Kael had never hit a woman before–but right now, he was furious beyond reason.
Nova gasped
Who sent you to do this? Kael demanded, his voice cold and threatening.
The woman’s throat felt like it was being crushed, but she still refused to admit it. “No one! I’m telling the truth!”
Cael’s eyes narrowed, a flash of cruelty crossing his face.
le released her in disgust, pulled out a handkerchief to wipe his hands, and ordered Sam, “Make her talk.”
The woman’s eyes widened in terror. Before she could scream, someone covered her mouth and dragged her away.
Nova felt a chill run down her spine. She’d never seen Kael so cold and ruthless before.
ut this woman wasn’t innocent–and the person behind her was even more despicable.
Kael turned back to her. He reached out to wrap his arm around her shoulders, but all the anger and cruelty in his voice was gone when he spoke to her. “Let’s p out for a walk.”
le knew the scene here would get ugly soon. He didn’t want Nova to be exposed to that filth.
tut Nova stepped back, avoiding his touch, her body language screaming rejection.
he lowered her eyes and said quietly, “No. I want to stay. I need to know who’s trying to destroy me.”
tael’s arm froze mid–air. He looked at her–she was like a wounded hedgehog, trying to protect herself by pushing everyone away.
lis heart ached. Thinking about how he’d treated her earlier, he wanted to slap himself.
Okay.” He gently lifted her face, his eyes filled with guilt and sorrow. “Once we find out who did this, I’ll make sure they pay. I’ll get justice for you, I promise.”
iova turned her head away and gave a cold, indifferent “hmm.”
idn’t get the reaction he’d hoped for, his heart felt heavier, and he glared at the woman being held in the corner.
am looked at the woman with pity.
lova smiled to herself.
ill her life, people had said she was as gentle as water–calm and unruffled no matter what.
but that didn’t mean she was weak, that she’d let people walk all over her.
Hoane had provoked her again and again, stabbing her in the back every chance she got.
This time, she’d play Sloane’s game–using Kael to take her down.
She couldn’t wait to see how Kael would destroy Sloane.
