Chapter 93 Tormenting the Mistress–Sloane Is Done for!
Nova was still in a daze, but she’d mostly recovered.
She’d heard every word of Corin’s confrontation with Matt, and unconsciously, tears welled up in her eyes.
This small act of kindness had unleashed all the grievances she’d bottled up these past few days.
“Are you okay?” Corin gently helped her to her feet. When he saw her tear–streaked face, his heart skipped a beat. He prided himself on being calm and in control, but in that moment, he was overwhelmed with panic, unsure of what to do.
“Don’t cry. Matt won’t get away with this. I’ll take you to the hospital…”
Nova realized she’d lost her composure. She shook her head slightly, her voice hoarse. “I’m fine. Thank you for helping me…”
Corin’s lips pressed into a tight line. He didn’t respond; instead, he took her hand firmly, leaving no room for refusal. “You’re hurt. I’m taking you to
the hospital.”
Nova looked down at their intertwined hands. A faint tingle spread through her fingertips, and she gently pulled away.
Corin’s palm instinctively curled into a fist, as if grasping at empty air. A small, hollow feeling settled in his chest. She’s rejecting me because of Kael,
isn’t she?
“No need.” She had more important things to do right now–this pain was nothing. “Mr. Thorne, thank you again for what you did today. I’ll make sure to repay you when I have time…
“I really do have to go now.
“I’m sorry…”
With that, she nodded apologetically, then hobbled down the stairs, clinging to the wall to ease the sharp pain in her ankle.
Behind her, Corin’s gaze was restrained.
Jaxs couldn’t stand watching any longer. He stepped forward, a hint of dissatisfaction in his voice. “Ms. Hale is being too cold to you…”
Corin’s eyes darkened. He shot Jaxs a frigid glare. Jaxs pursed his lips and fell silent, daring not to say another word.
“Go do your job.”
With that, Corin turned and walked away, his entire demeanor radiating coldness.

The internet was flooded with negative comments about her. What if something happened to her when she was alone?
He couldn’t fathom what Kael, her husband, was even doing right now!
Corin’s jaw was tight. It was like there were two voices arguing in his head.
Nova’s business has nothing to do with you. What right do you have to interfere?
But then… What if something happens to her when she’s alone?
In the end, Corin clenched his fists in frustration and helplessness. He closed his eyes, let out a sigh, and his resolve crumbled completely.
He turned around, hurried down the stairs, and chased after her without hesitation.
Not far away, Jaxs watched this scene and shook his head helplessly.

Corin was in love with a married woman–and to make matters worse, Nova and Kael seemed deeply attached. He was doomed to a painful one sided love, never to have a future with Nova.
At the same time, inside the private room, Sloane was still reveling in the joy of Kael taking the initiative to meet her. She clung to him, her face lighting up with a bright smile.
“Kael, seeing you has made today the happiest day of my life…”
Before she could finish, Kael frowned and pushed her away coldly. Unlike her joy, his face was as cold as ice.
He grabbed her chin roughly. “Don’t tell me you haven’t seen the news online!”
“Ah…” Sloane yelped in pain. She grabbed his arm weakly, her face turning pale. “I–I really don’t know! I have no idea who posted it online…”
Kael’s brow furrowed tightly, his grip unrelenting. “Do you think I’ll believe that?”
Tears streamed down Sloane’s face as she whispered, “Kael, why would I do something like that? And last night, you checked my phone–I really didn’t take any photos or videos…”
Kael’s expression remained dark and stormy.
Sloane began to sob. “Believe me! If I’d wanted to do that, I would have done it long ago. Why wait until now? I know your taboos–how could I ever
cross them?”
Hearing this, Kael relaxed his eyebrows slightly, and his grip loosened bit by bit.
It was true–if Sloane had wanted to expose their relationship, she’d had plenty of chances. There was no need to wait until now.
On the floor, Sloane collapsed like a discarded rag doll, gasping for breath. Her back was drenched in cold sweat from fear…
But at least Kael believed her.
Just then, Sam stepped forward and whispered, “Mr. Voss, our team found that someone was controlling a drone over the stadium that day.”
Kael’s expression turned sharp and menacing in an instant. “Bring them in.”
At his words, Sloane’s body stiffened violently, and her face paled visibly.
With a loud bang, the door to the private room was thrown open. Two bodyguards dragged a man in black clothing inside and kicked him to the ground.
Milo Cross‘ face was already black and blue from beatings, and his entire body trembled uncontrollably.
When he saw Kael, he hugged his head in terror and stammered, “M–Mr. Voss! I was blinded by greed! I just wanted to use those photos to get more views–I never thought it would blow up like this! I’m sorry, I deserve to die…”
As he spoke, he slapped himself hard several times.
“Please, you’re a generous man–forgive me this once!”
Upon hearing this, Sloane, who had been trembling with fear, finally let out a sigh of relief.
“Forgive you?” Kael scoffed. He stepped forward and crushed Milo’s hand under his foot.
“Ah!” Milo screamed in agony.
“Last chance–tell me the truth.”
Kael’s expression was grim. He grabbed Milo by the collar and threw him against the wall like a piece of trash.

Then, he shot Sam a cold glance.
Sam nodded, stepped forward, and walked toward Milo.
Seeing this, Sloane turned deathly pale.
She clenched her fists tightly… Everyone knew that Kael’s men were ruthless. If Milo couldn’t withstand the pressure and implicated her, she was truly done for.
“Mr. Cross, is it?” Sam smiled politely, squatting down to meet Milo’s eyes. “I heard you were framed by your company recently. Not only did you lose $200 thousand, but you also got tangled up in a lawsuit. If you tell the truth, we’ll handle the lawsuit for you, pay back the money you owe, and even give you an extra $200 thousand. What do you say?”
This offer was more than tempting–especially for someone who had hit rock bottom.
Sloane’s heart raced. Her palms were so sweaty she thought she might dig her nails into her skin…
Kael lit a cigarette. Through the swirling smoke, he stared coldly at the man in front of him.
Milo trembled from the pain, but when he heard the offer, his body froze. Yet he still gritted his teeth and insisted, “I’m telling the truth! I acted on a moment of foolishness–I used that video to get more views… It was all my doing…”
Hearing this, Kael narrowed his eyes, a dangerous glint flashing in his grey pupils. He ground out his cigarette fiercely and barked, “Sam!”
Sam understood. He looked at Milo, who was still being stubborn, and smiled coldly. “I heard your wife, who lives in the countryside, is pregnant. She’s due in two weeks, isn’t she?”
At these words, Milo’s face paled with obvious panic, followed by deep fear.
Sam stood up, checked his watch, and said, “You have two minutes left.”
Milo’s eyes turned red. He looked torn, as if trapped in

of agony.
Sloane was just as frantic, her face drained of all color. She glanced at Kael, opening her mouth to say something… But one look from him left her utterly despairing–his gaze was cold and suffocating.
Sloane bit her lip hard, tears of hopelessness welling up in her eyes…
Just then, Milo could no longer hold out against the threats and bribes. He broke down and screamed, “I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything! Just leave my family alone!!”
Bang!
Sloane’s pupils dilated in shock. It felt like someone had hit her over the head with a sledgehammer. She collapsed onto the floor.
