Chapter 12
Jason took his son down to the basement, throwing a stack of documents in front of Yuna.
Her hands trembled as she picked up a few pages, skimming the words and photos. A bitter, twisted smile slowly spread across her lips.
“So, you finally found everything out.”
Jason clenched his fists, barely holding back his fury as he demanded, “Why did you frame. Scarlet? Why would you try to turn Timmy against his own mother?”
Seeing that her schemes were fully exposed, Yuna dropped the pretense and revealed her true face. She burst into wild laughter, the shrill and manic sound echoing in the narrow basement.
“How else was I supposed to get you back? I had to make you hate her and leave her. What’s wrong with that?”
“And even if I did frame her, so what?”
She staggered to her feet, staring directly into Jason’s eyes. “Jason, don’t forget, it wasn’t me who hurt her back then. It was you.”
Suddenly, she pointed her finger at Timothy. “And also you, her own son.”
The boy’s eyes widened. Enraged like a cornered animal, he charged at her, pounding his fists and kicking with all his strength.
“You horrible woman! You made me hate my mom!”
Yuna only sneered, letting the blows rain down. “Don’t act so innocent. You were the one who helped me frame Scarlet more than once.”
“That’s because you lied to me me!” Timothy shouted, sobbing with anger and fear.
Jason rushed forward and pulled his son back, signaling the butler to take the boy upstairs.
The heavy iron door clanged shut, leaving only Jason and Yuna locked in a silence.
Looking at her unrepentant expression, his fury finally erupted. He tore off his watch and slammed her against the wall.
“Yuna, you really disgust me.”
His fists came down like a storm. At first she struggled, then soon simply stopped resisting, her face swelling and bleeding under the blows. Yet even battered, she still sneered.
“What’s wrong, Jason? You don’t love me anymore? You’ve gone back to loving Scarlet now, huh?”
She spat out a mouthful of blood and went on mocking him, “Don’t you think you are pathetic, Jason? When she was by your side, you never cherished her. Now that she’s gone, you suddenly regret everything?”
“Too late. She’s gone for good. You’ll never find her and for the rest of your life, you’ll be stuck with someone like me. Ha!”
Her words struck him like a hammer straight to the chest.
Watching her frantic expression, Jason pulled out his phone and ordered his men, “Have the Gardner Group release an immediate public statement. Cut all ties with Yuna. Strip her of the

Gardner Family name and freeze every asset in her name.”
“She’s gone mad. Send her to a psychiatric hospital.”
The arrogance drained from Yuna’s face in an instant. Panic took over. She fell to her knees clutching his leg and crying, “No, Jason, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have said that. I’ll never bother you ever again. I’ll listen to you.”
“Please, please don’t send me there. Okay? Please?”
Yet Jason remained unmoved. With a flick of his hand, the bodyguards dragged her away as he desperate wails echoed through the basement.
When silence finally returned, Jason sat alone in the vast, empty living room of the old estate He looked at his phone, staring at our wedding portrait, the one his father had forced us to take.
Who would have thought that now, this single photograph made him miss me?
“Scarlet… I’m sorry,” he whispered to the phone as he brushed his fingers across my face in the picture. “I’ll find you. I’ll make this right.”
Then, he dialed his assistant. “Any news about my wife?”
There was a long pause before the assistant replied quietly, “No, sir. We haven’t been able to fin the slightest trace of her.”
‘And… her identity records seem to have been erased. It’s as if she vanished into thin air.”
Jason froze, his heart sinking. He already knew from the way I had left that day and from how ater controlled the entire internet narrative, that I was far from ordinary.
But he hadn’t expected this. Not even a single lead.
Who exactly is Scarlet Blaine? And where is she now?
Thinking of this, his chest tightened with loss.
‘Keep searching. No matter how hard it is, you must find her.”
