My Son Accepted 13

Chapter 13

Just then, Jason’s phone rang. It was his father, calling him to the hospital.

A spark of hope lit up Jason’s chest. I was the bride his father had chosen for him, so maybe- just maybe-the old man knew where I had gone.

Inside the hospital ward, Gideon leaned against his pillow, his expression complex as he watched his grandson rush in.

“Scarlet has left, hasn’t she?” the old man asked bluntly.

Jason stayed silent for a long time, but his tightly clenched fists and the exhaustion etched on

his face said more than words.

The old man sighed heavily. “I always knew you and Yuna weren’t right for each other. That’s why I brought Scarlet into this marriage. I told you countless times that she’s a good person and you should have treated her well. But you never listened.”

Jason endured his father’s lecture, then pressed forward with the question that burned in his heart. “Do you know where Scarlet is?”

The old man simply shook his head.

The faint hope Jason had been clinging to shattered in an instant. Anger surged up uncontrollably.

“How could you not know? You arranged my marriage to her. You expect me to believe you never investigated her background?”

“I did investigate, but I found nothing,” the old man admitted calmly, his gaze sharp. “All I can tell you is she is not as simple as she seemed to be. Jason, stop searching for her.”

“Impossible!” Jason exploded. “I already lost the woman who loved me once. I won’t lose her again. I’ll find Scarlet, the woman who gave me her love and I’ll make it up to her. We’ll live as a happy family.”

The old man suddenly gave a cold, mocking laugh, his eyes full of disdain. “You don’t actually believe Scarlet loved you, do you?”

“You should think about how you treated her all these years. How dare you expect her to love you?”

Jason’s heart skipped. There was something in his father’s words he couldn’t ignore. His eyes narrowed in confusion. “What do you mean?”

Without a word, the old man pulled open a drawer and handed him a file. “See for yourself. Scarlet only married you to repay the Gardner Family’s favor. Everything she did for you was part of an agreement.”

Jason’s hands trembled as he opened the file and skimmed the pages. The contract explicitly stated that Scarlet was to break up his relationship with Yuna and play the role of a dutiful wife for seven whole years.

“No… no, this can’t be true. You’re lying!”

“For seven years she cared for me in every detail-are you telling me that was all an act?” His voice cracked with disbelief.

“Maybe she did care at some point. After all, she stayed by your side for seven years and gave

you a son.”

“But the way you treated her… you know very well.”

The old man’s eyes and voice turned sharp.

“Do you

remember when you were hospitalized for a stomach bleed? She stayed by your bedside three days and three nights without even resting for a moment. And the moment you recovered, you didn’t even thank her. You ran straight back to Yuna.”

Jason staggered back, his body hitting the cold wall.

I, who always remembered his favorite dishes and left warm meals for him when he worked late… the very meals he handed to Yuna instead.

I, who prepared gifts for every anniversary and Valentine’s Day… while he abandoned me to spend the night with Yuna.

I, who endured his suspicions and his violence, when he chose to believe Yuna over and over again.

He had treated me cruelly. No wonder I didn’t love him.

“If you or Timothy had shown her even a little kindness, I don’t believe she would have left so cold-heartedly, leaving behind even her own child.”

“In the end, it was you and your son who broke her heart into pieces.”

At the doorway, Timothy stood frozen. He overheard the conversation between his father and grandfather.

So, they were the ones who had wronged me.

So, for the sake of another woman, he had turned against the one who loved him most.

Sobbing, Timothy rushed into the room and threw his arms around his father, crying uncontrollably. Jason gently stroked the boy’s head gently, knowing his son had been listening all along.

‘Don’t worry, Timmy. We’ll find your mother.”

Deep inside, he promised himself that he would definitely find me, make me fall in love with him once again and stay with him forever.
