Ryan didn’t make a sound when I severed his finger, but now he instantly panicked, lunging forward to shield Ashley. 

“Don’t you fucking touch her!” 

“Hannah, don’t make me fight you to the death!” 

That familiar expression, that familiar tone, dragged me back to a bloody night five years ago. 

When our enemies came for us that night, the entire mansion was in flames. All ten bodyguards were dead, leaving just Ryan and 

His eyes blazing red, he’d shielded me behind him, barely holding his own against those bastards. 

Then he’d turned around and gently covered my eyes. 

He’d said the exact same words. 

“Don’t look, I’m gonna fight them to the death.” 

“Don’t worry, I’ve already got new papers ready for you. If I die, just leave this place and start over.” 

Blood from his severed finger dripped steadily, each drop echoing in my ears. 

He tore off a piece of his shirt and expertly bound the wound. 

“Hannah, don’t make me hate you.” 

The scene overlapped with eight years ago. 

When he’d severed my fiancé’s legs, he’d smiled and told me “Hannah, hate me. If you can’t love me, at least hate will make you remember me.” 

“I want to stay in your heart, no matter how.” 

Maybe that’s when our relationship started twisting into something sick. 

A fucked-up beginning was bound to end badly. 

Ashley grabbed Ryan’s gun with shaking hands, pointing it at me. 

“If you hurt Ryan, I’ll never forgive you!” 

Too bad the idiot didn’t even know how to pull the trigger. 

I stepped closer as she screamed hysterically. 

In a split second, I struck her wrist, snatched the gun, then aimed it at her forehead.

Ashley collapsed like a pile of rotting meat, screaming and clutching her head. 

1 laughed mockingly. 

“If you want revenge, you better know your fucking place first.” 

“Ryan, your taste is seriously shit.” 

Finally I took the three auction items home with me. 

But Ryan didn’t come home, and I figured he never would again. 

Overnight, rumors spread that I’d fallen from grace. The blood soaked demon had found a new love. 

For Ashley, he’d turned over a new leaf, going to prison to personally apologize to everyone he’d ever hurt. 

Then he changed the company’s entire business model, completely cutting ties with the past. 

I knew there was only one person he wanted to distance himself from. 

Me. 

He’d spend millions on jewels for Ashley without blinking. 

At her request, he’d spent a fortune building a chapel. 

Said he wanted to donate a new altar in her honor. 

When I heard the news, I laughed until tears streamed down my face. 

“Uncle Mike, you think God would accept donations from someone like him?” 

Uncle Mike stayed silent. 

But I knew we were long past God’s grace. 

Destined to live forever in blood and darkness. 

He did so much for Ashley. I pretended not to notice. 

Until Asidey used Ryan’s phone to send me a taunting message. 

“So what if you can kill people? Sull couldn’t keep your man, could you?” 

“Hannah, you lost. Completely” 

I showed Uncle Mike the message on my phone. 

“Pretty amusing, right? 

“After thus is all over, maybe I should get myself a dog too.” 

Uncle Mike handed me their wedding invitation 

“He hasn’t even divorced you yet, but wants to marry that bitch. Miss, you’re too kind-hearted.”

“No” I wagged my finger. 

“Their wedding is exactly what I’ve been waiting for.” 

On their wedding day, the venue was packed with guests. 

The same crowd that had attended my wedding to Ryan. 

Ryan projected scenes of his romance with Ashley on the big screen. 

The finale showed three pregnancy scan pictures. 

His face glowed with the joy of impending fatherhood. 

“I thought God was punishing me, but thankfully, Ashley gave me the chance to be a father.” 

“I swear I won’t let her down.” 

The doors slowly opened, revealing the bride’s graceful silhouette. The white wedding dress made her look like an angel. 

Ryan rushed forward eagerly, embracing what he thought was his salvation. 

“Ashley, thank you—” 

The second he turned around-thunk-blood sprayed everywhere. 

My cunning smile was revealed.
