I didn’t know how to answer; instead, I just stared up at the man cupping my face. His skin was dark as the night, and his eyes were storm cloud grey. He looked to be a mirror image of Pontus. Same face, same build. He smiled down at me until someone coughed. I turned to see my mate staring at me with a wounded look on his face, and that snapped me out of whatever trance I was in.Â
Pontus and Uranus both laughed. “Don’t worry, pup.” Uranus patted Rowan on his shoulder. His voice came out condescending “All mortals get this way around gods. Your mate’s heart is still only yours.” I wanted to stand, but Rowan grabbed me first. He must have seen the anger on my face because he smiled. “Now you have called all of us here. What do you need?” Uranus joined his brother and mother across fromÂ
- me.Â
“Humans have found out about us.” I started.Â
Pontus raised a brow and turned to his mother. “Why does this have anything to do with us?”Â
Gaia smacked him. “You know exactly why we are here. Allow the godling to talk.” She turned back to me and nodded. “Go ahead.” Pontus and Uranus turned away, bored already with our plight.Â
“Humans are on their way to kill us. But I know that we aren’t the only pack they know of. The ones that turned their backs on us would have told them about more than this one.” The three gods nodded. “I woke today after being in the abyss.” The two men whipped around.Â
“The abyss?” Pontus came back over and crouched next to me. He grabbed a fistful of my hair and took a deep breath in. He sat back on his heels and tilted his head at me. “Interesting.”Â
Uranus walked over to my other side and mimicked his brother. I felt frozen between these two large gods. “Quite interesting.” He used a finger to turn my face to look atÂ
search my eyes him. “Mortals can’t survive the abyss.” I watched hisÂ
face. “What exactly are you?” His voice was soft, but I had no answer for him.Â
Both men stood and walked back to their mother. They leaned over to talk to her, but she smacked both. “We can discuss this later.” She turned them to face me. “Go on.” She pulled them down to the map.Â
I pointed to Silvermoon pack lands. “The humans are almost here. But I need to save every pack.” I pointed out all the others. The two men laughed at me.Â

“You interesting godling, but you are no god And you don’t have the power to pull this off.” Pontus pointed to the packs in Canada. “How do you expect to reach here?”Â
I looked up to them. “That’s why I called to you.” They froze.Â
Uranus face tightened. “You called us here to use our power?” He stood up, but my hand shot out.Â
“No.” I shook my head. “I’ll use my power.” I turned to Gaia. “And I hope you can allow me to pull from you as I have traded with you in the past.” She nodded once. But I called to you because even though I have the power…I think. I don’t know if I have the reach.”Â

Pontus tilted his head, reminding me of the sea serpent I saw in the deep. “You want us to allow you to use us as a relay.” I nodded once.Â
My eyes danced around the three. “I am connected to the earth, sky, and sea. Selene and Hecate have said that from the beginning.” I looked down at the map. “But these packs are too spread out for my power to reach them. But if you three help me.” I looked up hopefully. “Allow my power to flow through you and your dominion, then possibly I can protect my kind from the humans conducting experiments on us. The three looked at each other and then back at me. But it was Gaia who pulled the men back to my side. “How are you going to gather the power to shield these packs?” Pontus nodded. “I won’t feed your spell, but I will push it farther.”Â
I looked around the clearing. “This field is covered in death. The blood has soaked into the very ground. The sacrifice of our pack members filled this field. To protect our families, or friends and our kin. I’m going to use my power and their sacrifice to fuel the spell.” I looked back to the gods. “Please help me save my people.” I bent down, placing my forehead on the ground, worshiping them as of old. “You are the only hope we have.”Â
I felt a tap on my shoulder, and I pushed back up. Gaia leaned over and studied the map. “I will help you.”Â
Pontus’s finger trailed over the map and all the rivers that flowed through the land. “ I will help you.”Â
Uranus stared at me for a second longer, searching my face for something, and then he nodded. “I will help you.” He leaned over. “But.” My eyes met his. “One of these days I might need a favor, and no matter what it is, you will have to agree.”Â
