7 Chapter 7Â
Aidan gave a grim smile, his eyes filled with a terrifying madness. 1Â
“I don’t approve. You are not marrying this soldato!”Â
“What are you doing?” A flicker of unease went through me.Â
He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. “Bring them in!”Â
Hanging up, he smiled. “No one is stopping me today.”Â
A commotion erupted outside. Dozens of men in black suits stormed into the church.Â
They were all armed, and they weren’t here to negotiate.Â
The guests recoiled in terror. Many had seen violence, but this was different.Â
This was the Callahan family openly declaring war on the Moretti family. The air crackled with tension.Â
The sanctuary descended into chaos.Â
“Aidan Callahan!”Â
My father was livid. “Have you lost your mind?”Â
“This is my daughter’s wedding, not a battlefield for you to run wild!”Â
“I have lost my mind!”Â
Aidan roared, his eyes bloodshot. “Seraphina is mine! Why should she marry him?”Â
“Nobody is walking out of here today!”Â
My father’s face was grim. With a wave of his hand, our own men closed ranks.Â
“Aidan, don’t think I’ll let you get away with this.”Â
In an instant, the two sides were at a standoff, the air thick enough to choke on.Â
I looked at it all, feeling nothing but a boundless, cold rage.Â
How dare he.Â
He begged for this arrangement, and now he would burn the world down to take it back.Â
I walked up to him and slapped him hard across the face.Â
“Doing this will only make me despise you more, Aidan.”Â
“I don’t care!”Â
Madness swam in his eyes. “Seraphina, you either walk out of here with me, or we all die here today!”Â

“Move!”Â
The word had barely left his lips before his men charged.Â
The first gunshot ripped through the silence, and the church erupted. Pews splintered, stained glass exploded inward, and the sacredÂ
space became a maelstrom of violence.Â
Dante tried to rush forward but was intercepted by Aidan’s men.Â
Aidan smiled at me. “I’ll kill this soldato right now, then you can marry me.”Â
But to everyone’s surprise, this supposedly ordinary man moved with impossible grace.Â
Facing the men rushing him, every one of his strikes was precise and deadly.Â
Within moments, no one dared get near him.Â
The fight on my father’s side was just as intense. Though older, his formidable presence hadn’t faded.Â
Many of the guests, loyal to my father, quickly joined the fray..Â
Seeing his men falter, Aidan’s face twisted in fury.Â
He suddenly pulled a pistol from his waistband and aimed it directly at me.Â
“Everyone, stop!”Â
He screamed, “Or I’ll kill her!”Â
The fighting sputtered to a halt. The church fell silent.Â
I looked at the gun pointed at my heart and felt surprisingly calm.Â
It seemed nothing Aidan did could shock me anymore.Â
This man was a stranger.Â
“Aidan.”Â
I met his gaze evenly. “Are you really going to shoot me?”Â
His hand trembled, his eyes filled with agony. “Seraphina, you’re forcing my hand.”Â
“Why won’t you just come home with me?”Â
“Why do you have to marry him?”Â
“Because I don’t love you anymore.”Â
I said, enunciating each word. “Aidan, whatever love I had for you turned to ash the moment you abandoned me to those thugs.”Â
“And now, with your gun pointed at my chest, I am absolutely certain it’s gone forever.”Â
Those words were like a blade twisting in his heart.Â

His face went white, the gun in his hand shaking violently.Â
“No, that can’t be…Â
He shook his head. “Seraphina, you can’t stop loving me.”Â
“We grew up together. We promised we’d be together forever…”Â
“You’re the one who destroyed that promise, aren’t you?”Â
My voice was soft, but every word was a shard of glass.Â
“Aidan, put the gun down. Don’t make me hate you.”Â
“No!”Â
He roared suddenly, “Seraphina, I’ll take your hate over you being with someone else.”Â
“You either come with me, or we die together!”Â
