The third time, Julian didn’t hold back. He even “accidentally” bumped into Luna.
Luna sidestepped just in time and shot him a sharp glare. “Sir, what exactly are you trying to do?”
Julian had imagined this reunion a hundred different ways, but never did he think she wouldn’t recognize him at all.
“My bad. Sorry for you,” he mumbled and turned away,
Outside, Noah was still waiting by the car. When he saw Julian walking out, he quickly opened the door for
him.
But the moment he saw Julian’s expression, his brows creased, and he thought, “That’s not right. He came in hopes, but what’s with this look?”
Noah didn’t dare ask. He just got into the car behind Julian.
Sitting in the car, Julian didn’t say a single word. He stared out the window, lost in thought.
After Julian left, Ethan looked up at Luna and asked, “Luna, was that guy into you or something?”
He was just a kid, but he’d watched plenty of cheesy TV dramas with Sophia. He picked up on something from the dramas.
Luna rolled her eyes, thinking, “Yeah, he was good–looking, but good–looking men usually mean trouble.
“Alright, eat your food,” she said flatly. Luna was never big on small talk, especially not romantic stuff, and definitely not with a six–year–old kid.
After they finished their food and walked outside, Luna suddenly felt something off–they were being followed.
A sly smile played on her lips as she thought, ‘Dylan must’ve crawled back home by now. These clowns must be sent by the Blackwoods.
Luna didn’t act alarmed. She just casually strolled down the street with Ethan, while the group behind them kept a steady but careful distance. They were clearly looking for a chance to strike.
Judy had given the order to bring Luna back no matter what. Honestly, even if they launched a fight right on the street, they weren’t worried. In Metroville, not many dared mess with the Blackwood family.
Back in the car, Noah had been keeping an eye on things. Knowing his boss wasn’t in a good mood, he didn’t bother him. Now, seeing things seem to escalate, Noah finally spoke up. “Mr. Frost, I think someone’s following Ms. Blackwood and her brother.”
Julian frowned, “Who is it?”
Nosh shook his head. “No idea.”

“Let’s go check it out.” Julian jumped out of the car without hesitation and started following

The group trailing Luna and Ethan had just made up their minds to take action when Luna suddenly turned into a dead–end alley.
“Perfect. Let’s make it quick. Mrs. Blackwood’s waiting on us,” one of them said. In his mind, Luna was just a young girl with no real strength–not worth all this trouble.
The ten–plus guards sent by the Blackwoods immediately rushed into the alley, only to find Luna and Ethan calmly sipping on sodas.
“Well, look at that. Just a spoiled little girl, still wet behind the ears, the leader scoffed.
He couldn’t believe this girl had supposedly disabled Dylan. He silently scoffed at Dylan for being useless in
his mind.
Luna asked with a frown, “The old witch sent you guys, huh? Alright, I’ll give you one shot. Get lost.” She was still full now and wasn’t in the mood to fight.
“I’m afraid that’s not gonna fly,” the leading man said with a smirk. “You should come with us, miss. Otherwise, things might get ugly. Be a shame if that pretty face got roughed up.”
Luna didn’t even bother responding. She thought, ‘Yep, definitely Blackwood family dogs. All the same breed -loud, dumb, and full of it.
She let out a chuckle and said flatly, “Since you’re so eager to die, guess I’ll help you out.”
