A dozen guns were suddenly raised and aimed at Luna. The guests’s faces turned pale at the scene.
They all knew that these weren’t ordinary soldiers–they were commanders of the Metroville Warfare Division. Each one had the authority to fire at will.
“Ms. Blackwood, stop resisting. If you get hurt, it’s on you,” one of the officers warned.
Olivia rushed to Eliot’s side, her heart aching at the sight of his injuries. “Eliot, are you alright? Luna must have practiced some kind of abnormal and dirty technique. If we let her go today, she’ll bring disaster to the people of the entire city”
To Olivia, there was no other explanation for Luna’s power. She couldn’t accept that Luna had grown so strong through her own skill. Since Eliot, one of Metroville’s brightest talents, was no match for her, Olivia was sure that Luna had played dirty.
Someone nodded. “Yeah, it doesn’t make sense. Luna crushed a Five–Star and a Six–Star Martial Artist. That’s
not normal
Another person echoed, “Exactly. She must’ve learned some kind of forbidden technique. She’s way too scary
now.
“Oops, what do we do now? We talked so much evil about her earlier. What if she comes after us for revenge! another one asked in concern.
Olivia’s words had frozen the crowd. Fear spread through the hall like wildfire.
In the face of an absolute powerhouse, no one could stay calm.
Eliot’s gaze turned gloomy. He asked, “Luna, what kind of witchcraft have you been practicing these past five years? You weren’t like this before.”
Luna let out a sharp and cold laugh. “You can’t beat me, so you think I practiced witchcraft? This is what Metroville’s so–called elite officers amount to?”
“You” Eliot nearly choked on his own anger. He never expected Luna to cut him down with words as easily as blows.
“Listen, you’re not even worth my time, Luna said icily. “You’ve been begging me to call off the engagement, haven’t you? Fine, I’ll make it official. From this moment on, the engagement is over. We’re nothing to each other.
Her voice rang across the room. To her, it was simple–he wasn’t worthy of her at all.
Olivia had long wanted Luna to call off the engagement, but not like this. After being beaten down so badly, Luna’s dismissal felt like salt in an open wound. Her words left no room for dignity.
“Luna, you-“Olivia’s face twisted. The truth stung worse than the pain in her arm. She begged for the man Luna didn’t want. Olivia felt that it was another way of humiliation.

“Eliot, we can’t let her walk out of here alive. If she does, she’ll become a threat to us all,” Olivia snapped, dropping the pretense of innocence completely.
“I know,” Eliot said flatly.
He had felt Luna’s strength firsthand. Together, he and Olivia weren’t good enough to beat Luna down. Leaving someone like Luna alive meant endless danger.
Eliot drew his gun and leveled it at Luna’s forehead.
The guests gasped upon seeing the scene. Some children began to cry, and the room descended into chaos.
Judy stood to the side, her eyes cold. She thought, Yeah, Sophia and her children must be erased completely.
“Luna, surrender now. Maybe I’ll spare your life,” Eliot said, scanning the panicked crowd. He knew killing Luna in front of so many witnesses would stain their names, no matter what excuse they gave later.
Luna tilted her head and flashed a smile with mockery. “So I should thank you for your mercy, huh?” To her, Eliot was nothing but hypocrisy wrapped in a uniform.
“Listen, Luna, leave with them, and I promise no one will hurt you,” Olivia spoke up, her tone sharp. “Otherwise, you won’t be leaving this place today.”
“We’re not scared,” Ethan suddenly shouted, his voice cutting through the tension.
He thought with gritted teeth, “They’re all bad people. They want to hurt Mom and Luna. When I grow older. I’ll get strong enough to pay them back!
By now, Sophia understood everything. Judy had never intended to let them leave alive. Still, she had seen her daughter again. Even if she died today, she would go without regret.
“Luna, Ethan and I will always stand with you, Sophia said firmly. She would never allow anyone to use her and her son as pawns against Luna.
“Sophia, are you really willing to risk your and Ethan’s lives for this ungrateful brat?” Judy snapped, her voice cold. “Luna, think twice. If you surrender now, I’ll let your mother and brother live”
“Wow, you guys finally stop pretending,” Luna said with a chuckle. She’d thought they cared about dignity and the family reputation, but now, their masks were off
She sneered, “Eliot, this has nothing to do with you. I didn’t come here for you. But since you’re so desperate to play the hero, I’ll give you what you want.”
It was the Blackwoods who had hurt Donald and Sophia. It was them who tried to sell Ethan. Luna had never planned on getting the Whites involved in the mess. But since Eliot pointed a gun at her, Luna wouldn’t show him mercy anymore.
Judy hissed, “You’re stubborn even until now? Eliot, don’t show her mercy. She’s beyond saving. Five years ago, she killed Mr. Walker and ruined the Blackwood family’s name. Now, she’s still arrogant.”
Judy thought, ‘She dragged our name through the mud once. How dare she strut around like this again?’

“Mr. Frost, aren’t we really going to step in?” Noah asked, his voice tense.

He thought internally. “That’s a dozen guns aimed at her. No matter how strong Ms. Blackwood is, she won’t survive under bullets.
“Stay ready to move,” Julian ordered calmly. He knew how strong Luna was, but against that many guns, even he wasn’t at case.
“Yes, Mr. Frost.” Noah’s hand brushed the grip of his weapon. It had been a long time since he’d spilled blood
like this.
“Luna, are you really this stubborn?” Eliot asked, still clinging to his pride.
In the next instant, Luna moved. She snatched the gun right out of his hand and pressed it to his temple. “Gosh, you’re so damn nagging. I wonder how you expect to lead the Metroville Warfare Division.”
Luna had moved so fast that no one even saw it happen until it was done. Eliot, the Division’s famed sharpshooter, had lost his gun to her bare hands. His face instantly drained of color.
Olivia screamed, panic twisting her voice. She had never imagined Luna could move like that. “Luna, don’t do this. Holding a commander at gunpoint is a death sentence, you know?”
