Chapter 34
“Also, if the Blackwoods try to send Dylan away, bring him to me directly,” Laina added, her tone cold and
final.
Meanwhile, Dylan had been taken to the airport, where Judy was seeing him off in person.
“Dylan, remember–once you’re abroad, focus on recovering and stay out of trouble,” she said. “When things settle down here, I’ll send someone to bring you back.
“Mom, don’t worry–I get it. I’ll keep a low profile overseas, I promise,” Dylan replied, his voice trembling.
Just thinking about Luna’s terrifying strength made him eager to leave immediately. “Mom, it’s time to board. I have to go.”
o on, then. Judy had only one son left. She just wanted him to stay alive.
But no sooner had Judy left than several operatives in black suits appeared silently around Dylan.
Judy had sent twelve Blackwood Security guards to protect him, and at the sight of the operatives, they immediately shielded Dylan.
Phantom had come in person. When she saw the twelve guards, a sinister smile curled at her lips.
Now she wondered if these guards, with their low combat skills, were even a serious threat. Any operatives could take them down with case.
Luna had only told her to dispatch a few operatives to fetch Dylan, but Phantom, having nothing better to do, had come in person.

“Go–grab him and take him away. Phantom didn’t even bother to move herself, speaking through a mouthful of chewing gum.
Her operatives obeyed. They moved with frightening speed, taking down the twelve guards effortlessly before grabbing Dylan by the collar and dragging him before Phantom.
“Go.” Phantom nodded.
“Who are you?” Dylan stammered, his voice panicked. “What do you want? I’ll have you know I’m a Blackwood!”
Phantom’s patience snapped. She turned to Dylan and, with a single punch, knocked him unconscious.
A few of her operatives twitched with amusement; Commander Phantom was getting more ruthless by the day.
Luna sat in a chair, staring at the unconscious Dylan in front of her.
“Wake him up,” Luna said coldly to the operatives.

“Yes, Ms. Blackwood,” an operative replied.
Without a moment’s hesitation, the operative stepped forward and snapped Dylan’s wrist.
“Aaaah!”

Dylan let out a shrill cry, jolted awake by the searing pain. When he saw his surroundings and Luna’s face, he began to tremble violently.
“Luna?” he gasped, his voice thick with despair. “Is that you? Why am I here? What do you want?”
Phantom saw how disrespectful he was. Without a word, she stepped forward and delivered a barrage of sharp, ringing slaps to his face, one after another, until his cheeks were red and swollen.
“Watch your tone,” she said fiercely, her eyes burning with a silent threat. “Or I’ll kill you.”
Dylan had never endured such treatment. A grown man, his face swollen from a teenage girl’s merciless blows, he felt nothing but shame and terror.
“Dylan, you could have just served your time in Metroville Prison. But you had to run,” Phantom said, her voice laced with mockery.
Phantom walked to Luna’s side and stood deferentially behind her.
Even a Seven–Star Martial Artist like herself would never dare to act arrogantly in front of Luna. How, then, could Dylan?
“Luna, who are you really?” Dylan felt overwhelming despair.
He realized that no one in the Blackwood family likely knew he’d been captured, let alone would come to his
rescue.
“Someone you can’t afford to mess with,” Phantom said coldly again.
“Cut the crap,” Luna said, her patience at an end. “Tell me, how did you stage that car crash five
years ago?”
“I didn’t do it! I had nothing to do with it! It was an accident! You have no proof. You’re just forcing a confession out of me! That’s a crime!” Dylan screamed.
Dylan would never admit to anything at this point.
Luna snorted, “Forcing a confession? Then today, I’ll show you what real coercion looks like.”
Luna gave a single, cold look, and Phantom understood immediately.
The other operatives were prepared to act, but Phantom would never let them take this opportunity to impress Luna. She stepped forward and did the job herself.
Phantom’s methods were designed to break even the most hardened spies; Dylan couldn’t withstand them.
In less than three minutes, he spilled everything.

“Luna, no matter what, we’re still family. Please, spare mel” he sobbed, the pain so unbearable he felt like he was in hell.
“Spare you?” Luna’s voice was a whisper of steel. “Did you spare my father? Did you spare my six–year–old brother? Did you spare my mother?”
She stood up and walked to Dylan. She didn’t even touch him, but as she approached, her chilling aura alone was enough to make him lose all control.
A grown man, he sobbed uncontrollably, urine soaking his pants.
“I was wrong! I really was wrong! I was blinded by greed. Please, spare me! I’m begging you!” Dylan screamed, his voice raw with terror.
Yet Luna did nothing. Her chilling stillness was a force of its own, a silent presence so terrifying it felt like it was crushing him.
“Ms. Blackwood, what should we do with him?” Phantom asked, looking to Luna for the final word.
“Throw him in Devilfamilyson Prison, Luna said, her voice icy.
“What?” At the mention of Devilfamilyson Prison, all the color drained from Dylan’s face. Everyone knew about it—a place for the worst criminals from every country. In the twenty years it had been in existence, no one had ever left alive.
“Yes, Ms. Blackwood,” Phantom replied immediately.
No one dared disobey Luna’s orders. Not unless they were already dead.
Phantom didn’t give Dylan a single chance to resist. Her operatives dragged him out and threw him into a waiting car, uncaring whether he lived or died.
Luna sat in the main seat, with Phantom standing respectfully to her lower left.
“Ms. Blackwood, what do we do next?” Phantom asked, a hint of anticipation in her voice. She hadn’t had a good fight since leaving the battlefield and truly missed that feeling.
“This isn’t over, Luna said, her eyes cold. A single man like Dylan couldn’t have orchestrated this alone. She already knew what role Judy must have played.
“I could just go kill them and be done with it,” Phantom suggested, her frustration clear. Why not just kill the people you couldn’t stand?
“Killing them outright would be too kind, Luna replied, a dangerous smile touching her lips. Death, she knew, was the easiest escape. The worst punishment for people like them was to slowly and methodically strip away everything they cared about most.
After a full day with no word from Dylan, the Blackwood family’s hopes dwindled.
As time passed, Judy’s expression grew darker and darker.

“Everyone,” she announced, her voice heavy with dread, “Ti afraid something’s happened to Dylan. She knew it. That damn Lama had come back with no intention of letting them escape.
