Chapter 101Â
Lachlan interrupted Caspian. “Alright, she’s our younger sister. You have to be more kind. Stop fooling around”Â
Eventually, the siblings happily returned to Ash’s room, leaving Caspian alone in the evening breeze. He deeply contemplated why Ash and Lachlan had a good relationship with each other but treated him badly.Â
For some reason, Caspian felt a bit jealous.Â
Early the next morning, Ash was woken up by Brooke.Â
“Mom, what’s wrong?” The moment she opened her eyes, she saw Brooke’s beautiful face.Â
Brooke looked at her lovingly. “Calvert is here. He said he wants to have breakfast with you. He is so demanding. Who would want to have breakfast?”Â
Brooke was still filled with joy. She was pleased to see her precious daughter and fiancé getting along well.Â
The corners of Ash’s mouth twitched. She pinched her thigh to make sure that she was not dreaming. She propped herself up on the bed and sat up. “Breakfast? He..”Â
Ash concluded there was definitely something wrong with him.Â
“Why are you here?” Ash had discussed with Lachlan late into the night and came up with three consecutive versions of the execution plan.Â
Calvert’s expression was much colder than hers. He held a bright pink meal box and looked inexplicably shy.Â
Ash narrowed her eyes slightly and stared at the girlish takeout box in his hand. She raised her eyebrows. “I didn’t expect you to like such girlish things, Mr. Snider.”Â
Calvert’s expression darkened, and you could sense his impatience growing. He almost stuffed the takeout box into her arms. “My grandma insisted you have it.”Â
“Oh.” Ash shook the takeout box. “Thank you. Take care. I won’t see you out.”Â
She stretched out her hand, waved her fingers slightly, and put on a polite and perfunctory smile. After saying that, Ash decisively turned around and walked back.Â
She had just taken two steps when she heard movement behind her. The next second, Calvert grabbed her arm. She frowned slightly and turned to look at him in confusion. “What else do you want?”Â
Calvert realized she did not want to have too much contact with him, and he had a strange expression. “Why do you want to leave so badly?”Â
“That’s right. I mean, what do you want me to do?” Ash replied firmly. It was not even seven o’clock yet. She could still get some sleep when she went back to her room.Â
Ash shifted her gaze to where Calvert grabbed her arm and pursed her lips. “May I ask do you have anything else you want to say? If you don’t, let go gently. It hurts a little.”Â
Calvert frowned. He had only slightly touched her, and yet she was already so resistant. He realized how Ash always looked cold and calm when facing him. He reckoned she despised him that much or only had eyes for William.Â
Calvert glanced at her and let go. His cold expression returned, and he was not in the mood to be gentle with her. “Remember your current status. Don’t do anything out of line for a year.”Â

Ash’s lips moved, finding it funny. “Don’t worry. I’ll definitely keep up the high spirit for the sake of rest expense. I don’t need your reminder.”Â
“Please leave now. I still need to rest,” Ash could not help but roll her eyes and grumble. This time, Calvert turned and even more firmly and walked towards the entrance without looking back.Â
Brooke had been watching from the garden in the front hall. She was too far away and only saw her daughter and Calvert having physical contact. She thought the two of them were chatting happily, which made her brim with joy.Â
“Alright, alright. This is good. Brooke could not hide the joy on her face. She could be at ease now that her daughter had found happiness.Â
