The doctor wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, “It’s already finished. Mr. Snider still has some injuries on his back. Do you want to help him?”
“Me?” She pointed at herself, a little puzzled, “Do you want to leave now? Why don’t you deal with it by the way?”
The doctor shook his head seriously and lowered his voice, “Mr. Snider doesn’t like others to have too much physical contact with him. Come on, I will guide you.”
Calvert said, “Get out.” He just closed his eyes, not falling asleep, so he could hear the words of the two clearly.
The bones that had just been straightened were still a little sore. Seeing that the two did not move, he repeated, “Go out.”
The doctor carried the medicine cabinet immediately and smiled perfunctorily and politely at Ash. Then he turned to leave the room.
Ash didn’t move.
Calvert was injured, so his body was much weaker. He added, “You go out too.”
“If I’m out, how are you going to apply medicine? Have you always been so stubborn?” Ash asked angrily.
She sat by the bedside and picked up the disinfectant cotton swab. She continued, “Turn your body slightly. You don’t want to go to the hospital, and you don’t want the doctor to help, so now I’m the only person who can help you.
“You don’t have another choice, so hurry up and cooperate. I have to go back when it’s over.” Ash cleared her throat and touched his arm.
Calvert stared at her without any expression. After a while, he sat up straight and moved a little. He said, “You can leave tomorrow. You can sleep here tonight. There is an empty room next door.”
She just touched the wound on his back with the cotton swab. When she heard this, the strength in her hands was not controlled properly. It was a little heavier. Calvert’s back was obviously tightened.
Ash pursed her lips and said, “I didn’t do it on purpose just now, but… This place is not far from my house, so there is no need to sleep here. I will take a taxi back later.”
“Are you afraid?” Calvert asked. He lowered his head slightly, and his voice was low and hoarse. His broken hair was lying on his forehead, and his arm was wrapped in bandages. Under the dim light, his perfect figure looked particularly attractive.
She did not stop applying medicine and asked, “Afraid? Afraid of what? Why be afraid?”
“Then why don’t you stay here?” Calvert asked as he tilted his check slightly. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Ash carefully and gently treating his wounds.
Ash looked at the wound on his back and replied, “I don’t want to stay here because I don’t think it’s necessary and appropriate. We are just an unmarried couple, so we still need to keep an appropriate distance.”

Ash teased, “What if someone slanders me? My good reputation would be ruined by you like this.”

Calvert’s voice was not as cold as before. With a smile, he said, “When did you care so much about what other people say?”
His voice was light, with a hint of discussion. “If you go out now, I can’t guarantee your safety. Let someone take you back tomorrow morning. It’s late enough today, so you can rest in the empty room.”
Ash raised her eyelids and responded, “Well, I’ll stay. You’ve said it. If I insist on leaving, it will be too disrespectful for you.
“You’d better sleep on your side at night. Did the doctor give you tetanus just now? Do you have any drug allergies? You may have a fever at night. Call me at any time.”
Calvert was half–dressed in pajamas and looked gloomy. He said, “You’ve learned a lot from Prunella. The injury judgment just now is more accurate than that of an average doctor.”
Ash was happy. “Yes, I’m good at learning. It’s just that some doctors are too incompetent.”
After returning to the room, Ash couldn’t fall asleep for a long time. Maybe it was because of this unfamiliar place. The scene in her mind repeatedly showed Calvert protecting her.
She sat up, scratched her hair, and looked out the window. The moonlight was obscured by dark clouds tonight, and it was hazy. Just like her mood, shrouded in haze.
When Brooke called, Ash remembered that she had forgotten to text her back.
“Mom, I forgot to tell you that I won’t go back tonight. I’ll be busy with him here. I’ll go back early tomorrow morning. Don’t wait for me.”
Brooke’s breathing was slightly panting as she said, “Okay, as long as you’re okay. What’s going on? I heard from Lachlan just now that police went to your company.”
“It’s okay, someone made a prank. Is your heart beating so fast?” Ash could clearly feel something wrong with Brooke’s breathing.
Brooke moved the phone away, took a deep breath, and said, “No, maybe I’m too sleepy. Don’t worry.”
Ash said, “Now turn on the speaker of your phone, and then turn your hands up. There is a dented point on the inside of your wrist. Rub it for three minutes.
“As well as the acupoint I taught you last time. Rubbing it a few times will make you feel better. Do you remember it?” Ash glanced at the weather. With the recent change in season, it is estimated that Brooke’s heart is not in good condition.
Brooke obediently followed her instructions. She pressed the acupoint for about three minutes and felt much better.
“Thank you, baby. Don’t worry about me. I’ll continue to press it later. After work, remember to have a good rest. If there is any situation, be sure to tell me as soon as possible.” Brooke was afraid of disturbing her and hung up the phone quickly.
After hanging up, Asy was still unable to sleep. She got up and went to the next room, hesitated at the door for a long time, but still knocked on the door. No one responded.
She silently told herself that she was just worried that Calvert would pass out with a fever. She opened the door, and the room was pitch black. She took a slow step, and with the dim light of the mobile phone screen, she groped to the bedside.
She was about to use her forehead to check if his head was burning when she suddenly stepped on something under her feet. Losing her balance, she fell down on his body. His muffled grunt of pain could be clearly heard.
“You sneaked in the middle of the night just to wake me up?” he asked.

Ash was embarrassed to death. She closed her eyes in despair as she said, “I’m giving you a massage, do you believe it?”
