Once Ash settled things with Sofia, she was worried about the company’s affairs and rushed to Funtime Games. 

Vanessa yawned as she left the conference room. Ash was walking towards her, carrying loads of things. Seeing this, she approached to take some. “What are these? Are you here to send gifts?” 

“Well, I brought lunch for everyone. Or, to be precise, it’s dinner.” Ash glanced at her watch and saw it was near closing time. 

“Well, on behalf of everyone, thank you. Anyway, we checked all the characters again today and decided to delete about four characters that do not fit the theme and are controversial.” Vanessa reported the situation. 

Ash hummed, “Are those characters from Area B?” 

“Yes, they are all from Area B, so we must readjust them. The design supervisor said we needed to delete the characters, and now we’re left with two.” Vanessa carried the food to the pantry and talked about the meeting’s result. 

Ash pondered and responded, “If we only have two, the overall number will be uneven. Keep the same number of characters. as before. We will add new mysterious unlocked characters to each chapter.” 

“As for the role of this mysterious character, I think we’ll need to floor this idea first. These characters will play a role in connecting the plot so that it won’t put too much pressure on the development team,” Vanessa suggested. 

Ash agreed, “Alright, this will be our primary task. You know? I haven’t gone to work for the past two days. So, if you want to rest, go ahead.” 

“Okay? But what’s wrong with you? Your eyes are swollen.” Vanessa noticed at first glance but was reluctant to ask. 

Ash was tired and sighed, “It’s nothing, just personal issues. Fortunately, it will be solved soon. Don’t overwork yourself, Vanessa. I will be back when I finish solving my things.” 

‘Do you need help?” It was the first time Vanessa had seen Ash in such a state. She was full of worries, exhaustion, and frustration. 

Ash shook her head and smiled calmly. “I just have some headaches. Since you are busy, I will deal with my things now.” 

On her way to the office, Ash met Alison, who had just bought a coffee. She completely ignored her and didn’t have much energy to face her. 

Alison was born surrounded by love and attention. Whether Ash talked to her or not, she had always wanted her attention. Hence, she raised her face and coughed several times to attract Ash’s attention. “Cough… cough… cough” 

However, Ash wasn’t in the mood and strode towards the office. Alison was not happy seeing this. She turned around and chased after her, “Hello? Didn’t you see me? 

“Is this a new trick you came up 

with?” 

Ash looked at her like a fool. “Can you stop making a scene every day? You can write novels or articles if you like making scenarios so much. Don’t be an eyesore here.” 

“An eyesore? Who are you calling an eyesore? We’re pestering each other every day. When did this become an eyesore to you?” Alison was upset and wanted to fight Ash for multiple rounds. 

Meanwhile, Ash frowned slightly, “Do you not understand human language or are you born mentally retarded? I mind my business, yet you make your speculation.

Ash had been upset, and Alison was still messing around with her. Hence, she had an outburst. 

Meanwhile, Alison’s face turned red. “Who do you think you are? Do you think you have high ground because you have climbed Calvert? How capable are you as a person? Could you enter a managerial position if it wasn’t for the Turner family’s help? 

“Stop thinking you are superior. Do you think you can scold others for no reason just because people think highly of you? Stop dreaming and have some humility. The Turner family lost their face because of you!” 

Ash didn’t care about Alison’s anger. “Well, okay, I’m rude and not good at managing people, but so what? And so what if me or the Turner family lose face? That’s my business. Does it have anything to do with you? 

“What right do you, a junior of the Turner family, have to say such things? From what angle are you accusing me?” Ash counterattacked lightly, leaving Alison speechless.

Alison felt wronged. Her heart ached and she almost cried. “Why are you always so harsh? All I did was record something, and I did nothing else. Why do you always look scary?” 

‘What a fool. Ash felt it was pointless to argue with her. 

She took a deep breath and answered, “Alison, you are no longer a child. No one will tell you how to do your role. This is my last warning. If you keep messing around with me, don’t blame me for being rude.” 

After lashing her anger, Ash immediately strode forward, leaving Alison feeling wronged. At that moment, an innocent colleague suddenly passed, seeing her crying. “What are you looking at? Have you never seen a beautiful woman?” 

Alison sniffed and held back her tears as she returned to her office. It just so happened that Jade called. 

‘Hey, how’s work recently? Are you okay?” Jade’s words completely broke Alison’s toughness, and she cried. 

Alison felt attacked. “Not much, except that Ash becomes yet another nuisance, always making trouble for me, all kinds of trouble, and he speaks aggressively and scolds me at every chance she has.”

knew of this side of her. 

“Don’t bother, your help will only make things worse. She may suspect that this was your idea. What if you get caught in her anger?” 

“I’ll be fine. Ash is always like that. Her mouth is harsh, but her heart is warm. She’s not a bad person. Don’t worry, we’ve all misunderstood at some point. 

Alison was calmed by Jade’s words. “I’m fine, Jade, there’s no need for you to meddle.”
