For a moment, everyone held their breath, quietly listening to the piano performance on stage.

Calvert’s gaze was fixed on the woman playing the piano. The level of skill and technique displayed was something that couldn’t be achieved without over a decade of practice and exceptional talent. 

Even those with a basic understanding of music could tell that her piano piece completely outshone Jade’s earlier violin performance. 

Brooke was stunned, her eyes gradually misting over. Ash, who had been lost for so long, had grown into such an outstanding person. Not only was she skilled in medicine, but she also played the piano exceptionally well. In every way, she was a standout among her peers. 

Josh nodded in satisfaction. He had said what he did earlier to console his wife. Everyone would want their child to shine in front of family and friends. 

Ash’s impeccable performance, combined with the rapt expressions of the audience, made it impossible for him to hide his smile. Not only had Ash avoided embarrassment, but she had also greatly enhanced his reputation. He truly had a wonderful daughter. 

Even Vania, who had been at odds with Ash just moments before found herself swept away by the music, immersed in a world of beautiful music. 

Jade’s smile faded, frozen in disbelief. 

She thought, ‘What was happening? How could she play the piano? Wasn’t she just a woman from a humble background, earning a living by selling her body? How could her piano skills be so refined?‘ 

While Jade’s musical abilities were not at a master level, her long exposure to internationally renowned instructors had taught her a great deal about appreciating music. 

As Ash’s playing gradually quickened, Jade suddenly realized that the woman she had underestimated not only played the piano but did so at a level far beyond her own, even hinting at surpassing the skills of her teachers. 

‘No. This is impossible,‘ Jade thought. She couldn’t accept what she was seeing. She glanced at Calvert. on Ash, and her expression twisted with resentment.

No matter how much she struggled to accept it, everything happening before her had become reality, and all eyes that had been on her now shifted to Ash. 

In that moment, Jade heard the sound of her own heart breaking 

As the piece concluded, the hall fell silent, and after a brief pause, thunderous applause erupted, filling the once–quiet space with excitement. 

Ash stood up gracefully from the piano, thanked the audience, and calmly returned to her previous seat. 

Noticing the jealousy and frustration barely concealed in Jade’s eyes, she smiled slightly and said, “Hope you’re not too disappointed.” 

Jade’s expression was stiff as she forced a smile. “How could I be You’re so amazing. I will definitely learn from you.” 

Ash withdrew her gaze, thinking to herself, ‘Is this what top–tier acting looks like?‘ 

Vania, still in shock, asked, “How are you so talented?” 

Ash looked at Vania, her clear eyes sparkling with mischief, her voice melodious, “It’s your turn to fulfill your promise.”

Suppressing her admiration and confusion, Vania raised her chi and adopted a disdainful expression. “So, how much do 

you want?” 

Ash nearly laughed. Although she didn’t understand why the girl disliked her, her transparent innocence made it hard not to smile. 

She was like a naive little girl trying to act like a jaded city woman. 

“I never said I wanted money.” Ash, noticing her mother’s worried expression in the distance, suddenly had a good idea. 

“Then what do you want?” Vania asked with a stern face, secretly regretting her quick agreement. She thought, ‘What if Ash asks for something unreasonable?‘ 

However, Vania’s upbringing reminded her that once she made a promise, she shouldn’t go back on it. So no matter what Ash requested, she had to agree. 

Seeing Vania’s tense demeanor, Ash smirked. “How about this? I want you to recognize me as your sister–in–law.” 

Initially expecting a difficult demand, Vania relaxed when she realized it was just a title. 

Yet she didn’t accept Ash as her sister–in–law. Even Jade looked up at her. 

Vania gritted her teeth, recalling what she had said before. “Can you ask for something else?” 

“No.” Ash looked at her playfully. “I don’t like performing in public. Since I’ve done what you asked, you should do what I say.” 

Vania contemplated this. It made sense, but it seemed unfair to Jade. 

At some point, Calvert had also approached, his icy voice cutting through the tension. “Is this how you were taught to keep a basic promise?” 

Vania shrank back, ultimately unwillingly saying, “Yeah, you’re my sister–in–law.” 

Ash nodded, not wanting to make it too hard for her, and turned to sit down. 

Vania had forced her to say the earlier words, so she thought this was only fair. 

Moreover, Vania was so innocent that she couldn’t hide anything. Essentially, she wasn’t a bad person. She just needed proper guidance. 

Calvert’s gaze was deep. The more he learned about Ash, the more it revealed how exceptional she was. 

He thought, ‘Could such a small family as the Morenos really nurture someone so outstanding?‘ 

Thinking of that silver needle, Calvert fell silent, sitting quietly beside her. 

Just then, a stylishly dressed man approached and stood in front of Ash, his tone polite. “Ms. Turner, may I have the honor of inviting you for a drink?” 

Calvin held two cocktails, offering one to her. 

Ash’s gaze sharpened. From Brooke’s introductions over the past few days, she recognized the man before her as Calvin, the most capable member of the Rowse family. 

Besides that, the Rowse and Snider families were rivals.

Ash thought, ‘So this is Baz’s brother?‘ 

Ash glanced at Baz sitting nearby, took the drink, and with a charming smile, raised her glass. “Cheers.” 

As she spoke, she lifted her glass and drank the cocktail in one go 

Calvin raised his glass with a smile in his eyes. “Cheers.”

“This is my fiancée. I hope you keep your distance.” Calvert’s voice was cold as he stepped between them. 

Calvin showed no fear, raising an eyebrow. “Fiancée, which means you’re not married yet. Everything is still uncertain.”
