Chapter 125 

“Well…” Emily was momentarily speechless. She felt like she was racking up more debts in this new life. First Knox, and now she owed even more to Daniel. 

But since she had to repay them, it was only natural to meet their needs. 

Daniel’s most pressing need was to heal his body. 

Emily slapped her thigh, her eyes lighting up as she looked at Daniel. “Until you get better, I’ll handle your check–ups and whip up nutritious meals for you, free of charge. How does that sound?” 

For someone who loved money, making such a concession was already quite rare. 

What could Daniel say? At least he was important enough to her, almost as much as money. That was progress, right? 

“Emily, I really appreciate that!” Daniel nodded with a smile. 

Emily’s face blossomed into a radiant smile, her eyes curving like crescent moons. 

To show her gratitude, Emily even cooked dinner herself that night and invited Daniel to join her. 

When Atticus returned and saw Daniel, he was so surprised he almost couldn’t close his mouth. 

At the dinner table, only Emily and Daniel seemed unaffected. The others were too nervous even to breathe. 

Emily, perhaps used to it or maybe fearless after living a second life, was not affected. Daniel noticed the tension among the others and left after finishing his meal. 

After dinner, Emily finally had the chance to wash up and go to bed. Before sleeping, she pondered her next move against Bianca, recalling that she hadn’t checked the design drafts she had asked L for. 

She quickly opened her email and found L’s message, which had arrived two days ago. 

L, not receiving a reply to the first email, thought Emily was dissatisfied with the proposed solution and sent additional methods, becoming somewhat humble in the process. 

Emily felt a rare pang of guilt. L had been so enthusiastic, and she hadn’t taken it seriously enough. 

Emily quickly replied. 

Emily: [Great job, thank you. I’ll let you know if I need anything else.] 

L had published her work, invited international supermodels for a runway show, and secured coverage from the most influential media outlets. Additionally, L had enlisted renowned designers in the industry to promote the work. 

Bianca was busy and probably wouldn’t notice. Even if she did, Emily doubted Bianca would realize her work had already been sent out. 

The timing was perfect.

In the afternoon, Willow reminded her that the deadline for the design drafts was only two days away, urging her to hurry. 

Emily had already sent her new design to the event organizers and was now waiting for the final judgment. 

The next day, Sophia, who hadn’t contacted her for several days, showed up unexpectedly, carrying toys for Lam. Lam’s successful adoption was partly due to Sophia’s efforts, and she felt a deep emotional connection to Lam. 

Emily thought, since Sophia was here, why not take her along? 

“You mentioned wanting to attend an art exhibition, right? Perfect timing, I’ll take you to meet someone today, Emily said with a smile. 

Sophia was so excited she almost jumped for joy, knowing that anyone Emily introduced would be a big deal. 

“Sure, sure, Emily, I’ll follow you anywhere. You say east, I won’t go west,” Sophia pledged enthusiastically. 

Emily liked Sophia’s straightforward personality. She was open but not foolish, making her reliable and clear–sighted. 

“Great. Let’s go,” Emily said, leading Sophia out the door. 

Before leaving, Emily contacted Allan Jennings. 

Allan had a refined appearance, with a small ponytail at the back of his head, giving him an artistic vibe. 

“Emily, it’s so hard to get a chance to see you. How’s it going? Any new works?” Allan greeted her warmly. 

He used to be quite proud, but after seeing Emily’s work, he realized there were always greater talents out there and was immediately impressed. 

So whenever he saw Emily, he wanted to see if she had any new creations. 

Emily shrugged. “Sorry, I’ve been busy lately, no time for new works. But I want to introduce you to someone with great talent. You’re hosting the art exhibition, right? Her work should be there. Please keep an eye on it.” 

Allan had connections. The people he invited to view the art were either genuinely interested in art or wealthy and influential. 

With Allan’s introduction, Sophia would truly enter the circle and gain valuable connections. Given her talent, this would be a significant 

boost. 

Allan thought of John, who had recently taken on a new student participating in the exhibition. He realized it was Sophia. 

John was somewhat old–fashioned and pure in his approach to art. He wanted Sophia to be judged on her merits and didn’t ask Allan to give her special treatment, fearing accusations of favoritism. 

“Allan, nice to meet you. I’m Sophia!” Sophia greeted him smartly, understanding the relationship dynamics. 

Her eyes sparkled brightly, reflecting the vibrant energy of her artwork. 

“Nice to meet you!” Allan shook her hand warmly.

So, she decided to give up the chance to chat with Allan, exchanged WhatsApp contacts with him, and then followed Emily. 

Allan couldn’t help but smile at Sophia’s energetic demeanor. He found her genuine nature endearing. 

He escorted them out, unexpectedly encountering Bianca and Finn. 

Finn, due to his racing connections, knew Allan’s brother. Allan couldn’t refuse his brother’s request, giving Bianca the opportunity to showcase her work. 

Bianca had just learned that Sophia was also participating in the exhibition and had a prominent spot, which displeased her. She convinced Finn to come and persuade Allan to change the placement. 

“Emily, what are you doing here?” Bianca exclaimed upon seeing Emily, unable to contain her frustration from the previous day. 

Finn looked at her in surprise. 

Realizing her impatience, Bianca quickly explained, “Finn, I’m sorry. I was just surprised that Emily, who is usually hard to find, happened to be here today, ahead of us.” 

She implied that Emily had found out about their plans and came early to speak ill of Bianca. 

Emily didn’t bother to look at Bianca, checked the time, and prepared to leave with Sophia. 

“Emily, are you deaf? Didn’t you hear Bianca’s question? Did you come here just to sabotage her, knowing she was meeting Allan? Finn accused, pointing at Emily.
