“Bianca, you know medicine. Just tell everyone you ate something bad, and that’s why you’re feeling sick,” Eli urged Bianca, his voice 

tense. 

Bianca quickly chimed in, “Yeah, I just ate something that didn’t agree with me. This has nothing to do with James, so don’t get the wrong 

idea. 

Bianca said that on purpose. At first, no one thought much of it, but her explanation made everyone start to wonder. 

James heard the word “pregnant” but didn’t immediately connect it to himself. However, Bianca’s words made his heart race, and his face went pale. 

“This… this can’t be happening.‘ 

Right, it had nothing to do with him. He remembered that he and Bianca had taken precautions! 

Emily looked at James with a knowing smirk, “James, are you sure it has nothing to do with you? Even if Bianca isn’t pregnant, you two did sleep together, didn’t you?” 

Her eyes were cold, piercing through James as if she could see his very 

soul. 

James‘ face turned ashen, and under her gaze, he felt so guilty that he took a step back. “No, Emily, let me explain. We didn’t…” 

“Emily, I’m sorry. It was an accident. James was drunk and mistook me for you, so it happened. We didn’t want you to find out. If it weren’t for today, you wouldn’t have misunderstood because of my possible pregnancy symptoms…” 

Bianca cut off James‘ denial with her explanation. 

But her words only confirmed that they had indeed slept together. 

“Shut up! We didn’t do anything!” James‘ eyes were red as he instinctively shouted at Bianca. 

For the first time, he felt that her words were so easily misunderstood, as if she were pretending to explain but actually leading people to 

think the worst. 

This sudden realization left James‘ mind blank. 

He recalled past events. 

It seemed this had happened repeatedly. Every time Bianca explained, Emily would become even more upset! 

So, he was wrong, wasn’t he? 

James opened his mouth, wanting to explain, “Emily, I’m sorry. Things aren’t what you think. I never wanted to hurt you. Can we…” 

“No, James. There’s no going back!” Emily saw his expression and knew he finally understood how she had felt before. 

But it was too late!

Emily cut him off and said, “You should be more concerned about the child Blanca might be carrying.” 

“Mr. Smith, are you leaving? Let’s go together!”

Emily looked up, her eyes clear, reflecting his cold, chiseled face. It was as if James no longer existed in her world, but someone else did. 

“Let’s go!” 

Daniel sensed that she had completely let go of James at this moment. He couldn’t suppress the joy in his heart and responded with a slight smile. 

Then, the two of them left together as if no one else was around. 

James panicked. 

He knew that if Emily left, they would be truly over. 

“Emily- 

James wanted to chase after her. 

“James!” 

Bianca held onto him, not wanting him to leave. 

James‘ grandmother, Mireille, quickly called out to him, “James, don’t you dare chase after her!” 

Mireille might not have been particularly fond of James, but she valued the Smith family bloodline. If there were a chance that Bianca was carrying her great–grandchild, she wouldn’t allow James to go after Emily. 

Because James‘ wife could no longer be Emily. 

Mireille usually didn’t get involved in decisions, but when she spoke, it was an order. 

An absolute order! 

Everyone in the family had to listen. 

James instinctively stopped in his tracks. 

Eli, who had been in shock from the news, finally came to his senses. 

He naturally wanted to seize this opportunity. “Kade, given the situation, what do you think?” 

Kade hadn’t expected James to get someone pregnant. If it was indeed the Smith family bloodline, they couldn’t ignore it. 

Moreover, Bianca was a favored daughter of the Johnson family, not someone they could easily dismiss. 

Kade couldn’t afford to offend them, so he responded diplomatically, “We can discuss everything. But first, we need to go to the hospital

“Of course. So, the first step is for Bianca to go to the hospital for a thorough check–up. James, you’ll need to accompany her. She’s not fond of hospitals and might be more cooperative with you there.” 

Eli made the request. 

At this point, James couldn’t refuse and had to agree. 

So, shortly after Emily and Daniel left, they hurriedly took Bianca to the hospital. 

Meanwhile, Emily and Daniel were in the same car on their way back. 

The atmosphere was strangely quiet. 

Emily hesitated, wondering if she should ask if he had come specifically to help her out. 

But for some reason, she had a feeling that if she asked, their relationship would never be the same. 

So, Emily chose to remain silent. 

For some reason, the car felt inexplicably warm. 

Her heart pounded with nervousness. 

“Did you really see that Bianca was pregnant, or did you say it on purpose?” Daniel suddenly asked. 

Emily was taken aback. 

She looked at Daniel with suspicion and curiosity. 

He was actually gossiping! 

It felt so out of character. 

But the answer wasn’t difficult. Even as she pondered his thoughts, she answered truthfully, “My medical skills might be better than you think. I did see that she was pregnant, and from the timing, it should be James‘,” 

Daniel raised an eyebrow at her words. 

“Timing? They betrayed you, and you even know the timing?” 

As soon as he asked, the air froze. 

Daniel realized that discussing such a topic with a girl was inappropriate. 

It felt like he was being a jerk.

Daniel didn’t realize that his explanation only made things weirder. 

York, who was driving, almost took the wrong turn. For the first time, he realized that even the brilliant and strategic Daniel could be as clueless as a lovestruck teenager when it came to feelings. 

He wanted to laugh but didn’t dare. 

He almost turned himself into a meme trying to hold back his laughter. 

Surprisingly, Emily didn’t find Daniel’s behavior inappropriate. 

It seemed like they were meant to be. 

She understood his meaning instantly and didn’t overthink it. Instead, she calmly replied, “I just wanted to know when the man who claimed to love me and put me first in everything started to rot and betray me.” 

Emily’s face was calm, and her tone was even. 

But Daniel sensed the sadness in her words, and it made his heart ache as if pricked by needles.
