Chapter 154

“What do you think we should do? What should we do?”

A few days later…

Things took a turn for the worse.

Noah dropped more evidence, pretty much proving that the song was his, making it look like Chase was the thief.

Chase stormed into the studio, throwing stuff around in a blind rage.

His manager, watching him, looked just as pissed.

“This is on you,” the manager snapped. “You were so sure the song was Bianca’s. Now we need Bianca to step up with some proof, but she’s gone radio silent. Trashing the studio isn’t gonna fix this. You need to figure out how to get Bianca to show some evidence. Or you could just throw her under the bus and save yourself.”

The manager shook his head, clearly fed up. He was starting to lose faith in Bianca as well. He’d thought she genuinely cared about Chase and was reasonable. But now, she seemed just as self-centered as anyone else.

Chase’s face was twisted with anger. “No way. Bianca can’t handle the online hate. She’s not in good shape.”

In truth, he was a good brother. Even now, he was worried about Bianca’s health.

This was a kind of care and favoritism that Emily would never receive.

Seeing Chase stuck but still worried about Bianca, the manager snapped, “Really? Let’s see how long you can keep this up.”

Just as the manager finished speaking, his phone rang.

“This… I’m afraid… Okay, no problem. We’re just waiting for the right time to release the evidence. Yes, yes…”

The manager took call after call from the various brands Chase endorsed, trying to buy time.

After several calls, the manager turned to Chase, looking more serious than ever. “I can only stall for you a couple more times. If one brand decides to drop you, the others will likely follow, and you’ll be facing over a hundred million dollars in penalty fees. Think about how you’re gonna pay that.”

Chase had made a lot of money over the years, but his expenses were equally high. He’d blown most of it on luxury gifts for Bianca, like a necklace worth millions for her birthday, or diamonds from auctions that cost even more.

All these added up to a significant amount of money.

Chase’s face turned pale, and he looked like he was about to collapse.

The manager saw this and pressed on, “I’m not asking you to make Bianca apologize. Either she shows some evidence, or she apologizes. We need a plan, right? Compared to a quick apology that everyone will forget soon enough, you’re facing real financial losses. Think it

over.”

But time was running out. Chase didn’t have the luxury to think it over.

His assistant burst in, shouting, “Mr. Johnson, it’s bad. People online have found out about your family. They’re flooding the Johnson Group’s website…”

Chase felt a wave of panic.

Soon. Eli called and immediately started yelling at Chase.

Chase, what the hell is going on? I never wanted you in the entertainment industry. You promised you’d behave. Is this your idea of behaving? Now you’ve dragged the Johnson Group into this mess. If I’d known, I would’ve made you quit right away. Can you fix this of

not?”

Eli seemed to forget how he had praised Chase when his fame had boosted the Johnson Group’s profile.

Chase’s face grew increasingly troubled. He knew he was in the wrong.

He felt a natural fear of Eli and couldn’t find the words to explain.

“Say something! What’s going on?”

Eli’s anger only grew when Chase stayed silent.

Hesitating, Chase finally explained the situation truthfully.

“So, you’re saying this is because of Bianca? Fine, I’ll talk to her. She’s kind-hearted and wouldn’t want anyone to suffer. She probably doesn’t know what’s happening online. Once she knows, she’ll apologize. Emily, that idiot, must be the one who plagiarized. If she weren’t, she would’ve come forward already. We’ll have Bianca apologize and blame Emily. If Emily doesn’t produce evidence, we’ll say she’s doing this to get back at you. Just push all the blame onto her.”

Chase’s eyes lit up at Eli’s plan. “Okay, Dad. I’ll wait for your news.”

“Useless. I always have to clean up your messes.” Eli hung up the phone with a grunt.

He then called for Bianca, who was at home.

Bianca was aware of the online situation and was planning to leave for a trip to avoid the requests from Chase’s manager.

But before she could leave, Eli found her.

A sense of dread filled Bianca.

“Dad, what’s wrong?” Bianca feigned ignorance, looking at Eli with innocent eyes.

Eli felt relieved. Bianca must not know about the online situation, which is why she hadn’t stepped forward.

“Bianca, do you know what’s going on with Chase? Check the news online…”

Chase hadn’t told Eli that they had already talked to Bianca about Emily’s demands, so Eli assumed Bianca was clueless.

Even though she wanted to curse Chase for being an idiot and Emily for being a jerk, Bianca had no choice but to look at the news.

Pretending to read, her face turned pale, and she swayed as if she might faint. “Dad, I’m sorry. I didn’t know it would turn out like this. I was just trying to help Chase. He didn’t like Emily, and I thought he wouldn’t want to use her songs. I didn’t mean for this to happen.”

Bianca was a skilled liar, and her words flowed easily.

She quickly made herself appear to be the victim.

Eli, who had been somewhat displeased with her, softened.

“It’s not fair to you, but we need a solution. Your apology would cause the least damage to Chase and the Johnson Group. Are you willing to do this for your brother and the company? I promise I’ll make it up to you.”

Bianca lowered her eyes, hiding the anger in them.

In the face of interests and even Chase, she was still less important.

The Johnson family was indeed selfish, and the good thing was that she had never cared about family ties. Only Emily, the fool, would be controlled by such meaningless things.

But apologizing to Emily? Never.

“What’s wrong? You don’t want to?” Eli’s face darkened, his voice stern.
