Chapter 219

“Come in!

The door swung open, revealing Quincy, Knox’s right-hand man. He’d drafted the contract per Knox’s instructions and knew it inside out.

So when he saw Bianca, he greeted her with no emotion, but his eyes betrayed his disdain.

Bianca felt the contempt in his gaze, and though it stung, she clenched her fists and endured it. She had a goal, and once she became someone Knox valued,

she’d make sure Quincy paid for his attitude.

Bianca composed herself, smiled, and walked over to Knox.

“Mr. Green, I’m here like you asked. Can we talk about saving Hayden?”

She moved closer, trying to sit beside him on the couch.

Knox’s face remained impassive. Just as she was about to sit next to him, he spoke, his voice cold and commanding. “I have a thing about cleanliness. Sit across from me; I don’t want you contaminating me.”

Bianca’s smile faltered, but she obediently sat across from him. She opened her mouth to speak again, but Knox glanced at Quincy. “Give her the

documents.”

Quincy pulled out a contract from his briefcase and placed it in front of Bianca.

“I’ve got other things to deal with. Sign the contract, and I’ll arrange for Hayden to be brought back,” Knox said in a deep voice.

Bianca wanted to scrutinize the contract, even though she knew she might not fully understand it. She thought about snapping a picture and sending it to a lawyer she knew. But Knox’s impatience was palpable.

She realized that if she asked for time to consult someone, Knox might just walk away. So, with her limited legal knowledge, she quickly scanned the contract, looking for any glaring issues. Finding none, she signed it.

Knox watched her sign, then took the contract and added his own signature.

Seeing his signature, Bianca felt a wave of relief and couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Green, now that you’ve signed the contract, can you save Hayden first? I’ll do whatever you need.”

Knox suddenly laughed, a mocking smile spreading across his face. “Sure, the contract’s signed, but saving him? There’s no rush.”

His sinister smile and odd words made Bianca realize something was off. She had been too confident, not considering that the man who had defended Emily and looked down on her wouldn’t change his attitude so quickly.

Bianca frowned and asked urgently, ‘Mr. Green, what do you mean? The contract says you’ll save Hayden. Are you going back on your word right after signing?”

“So what if I am?” Knox retorted with a smirk.

Bianca’s face turned pale. “A contract is legally binding, isn’t it? Why are you messing with me? We have no past grievances. Why treat me this way? Even if you don’t believe me about Emily, I meant no harm!”

Chapter 219

Her emotions grew more intense as she spoke, her eyes reddening but still stubbornly meeting his gaze. Any other man might have softened seeing her like this, but not the ruthless and cold-hearted Knox.

‘Did I say I wouldn’t save him? Why don’t you read the contract again? I promised to save him, but I didn’t specify whether he’d be alive or dead. So, what’s

the rush?”

Knox spread his hands, feigning innocence.

Bianca was stunned by his words. How could someone be so shameless?

“When I said save him, I meant alive. If he’s dead, there’s no need for your help. Since that’s the case, the contract is void. I’ll find someone else. I won’t trouble you, Mr. Green.”

Bianca realized he was just messing with her. Furious, she stood up, but she felt a pang of unwillingness. She decided to provoke him. “You like Emily, don’t you? Too bad she seems to favor Mr. Smith. Also, Mr. Green, by delaying Hayden’s rescue, you’re missing the best time to save him. Emily and I may have our differences, but we’re family. If she softens and remembers Hayden, you’ll be the one she blames. She’ll never forgive you.”

Even though Emily had made it clear that she had no feelings for the Johnson family, Bianca knew this but still chose to provoke Knox.

After speaking, she turned to leave.

“Stop!”

Knox’s sudden command made Bianca’s heart leap with joy. It seemed her words had an effect.

She turned around, feigning arrogance. ‘Mr. Green, have you changed your mind?”

“Sorry, but no. I just wanted to remind you that once both parties sign a contract, it’s legally binding. You can’t back out. From now on, you’re my slave. Remember to be at my beck and call.”

Bianca looked at Knox in disbelief. His eyes were cold, his expression serious, showing no signs of deceit.

Bianca staggered back a few steps. “How can you do this? Did Emily put you up to this? I knew it! She can’t stand that I am doing well. She’s manipulating you!”

She seemed to lose control, her emotions erratic, laughing and shouting.

Knox suddenly stood up, his eyes bloodthirsty as he grabbed Bianca by the throat. “Who gave you the right to insult Emily? All that you made her suffer, I’ll make sure you pay for it, one by one. This contract is no joke. Go home and read it carefully.”

After his threat, he released Bianca with force.

Bianca fell to the ground, clutching her throat, coughing violently, tears streaming down her face. This time, it wasn’t an act. She had genuinely thought she

was about to meet death.

Knox was terrifying. For a moment, she believed he truly wanted to kill her.

‘Get out!”

Knox didn’t bother to look at her again.

Chapter 219

Bianca struggled to get up, her legs weak, and she had to support herself on the table, inching her way out.

‘Ms. Johnson!

Quincy’s call made her flinch in fear, her body trembling. “Wh…What is it?”

He handed her the contract, his tone mocking or maybe just reminding her of the binding agreement.

Bianca’s mind was in a daze. She didn’t know how she left the hotel or how she made it back to the Johnson Villa.

Cleo noticed something was off but was more concerned about Hayden.

Bianca, what’s wrong? Why do you look like that? Did something happen with Hayden?”
