As soon as she said it, she wanted to slap herself.
What was she saying?
Would he think she was trying to seduce him and then kill her?

Before she could explain, Daniel had already slipped under the covers.
Seeing him accept her suggestion, Emily quickly opened the window to air out the blood smell.
Then she hurried back to bed and covered herself.
Next to her, Daniel had a faint, pleasant woody scent. Emily instinctively took a deep breath.
Realizing what she did, she quickly composed herself.
Hopefully, Daniel didn’t notice.
Just then, the door to the room opened.
Several men with sharp eyes scanned the room.
Emily immediately put on a confused expression and looked at them.
“Who are you?”
The men, finding nothing unusual, said coldly, “Sorry, wrong room.”
They closed the door and left.
Emily heard them checking other rooms outside.
Daniel got up from the bed. Emily saw his blood–soaked shirt and frowned, “Should I call a doctor to bandage your wound?”
‘No need.”
Daniel refused in a deep voice.
He then tossed a jade pendant to Emily, “I owe you this once.”
He opened the window and leaped out, leaving the room.
His woody scent faded with the wind, as if he had never been there.

But the cool touch of the jade pendant proved he had been there.
“One favor, huh?”
A promise from the head of the Smith family was significant.
Emily smiled, pleasantly surprised.
Was this a stroke of luck from her rebirth? Could she change her tragic fate?
Voices came from the hallway again.
Emily’s heart skipped a beat. Were those men coming back?
But Daniel was gone, so she had nothing to fear.
Thinking this, Emily got out of bed and peeked through the door.
She saw Bianca being carefully escorted out of the hospital by the Johnson family and James.
Bianca smiled sweetly, as if the world favored her.
In contrast, Emily’s empty room felt incredibly ironic.
Suddenly, James’s sharp gaze turned towards Emily’s room.
“James, what are you staring at?” Bianca asked softly, her voice barely audible.
James’s intense gaze softened immediately. “Nothing, I must be imagining things. Thought I saw Emily.”
Hayden chimed in, “James, you gotta be mistaken. Emily’s at home, fast asleep. No way she’s here at the hospital.”
Emily wasn’t surprised by Hayden’s sarcastic tone.
Bianca said something, and Hayden and James instantly started fussing over her.
The three of them moved further away until they were out of Emily’s sight. A dull ache settled in Emily’s heart.
So, James had started noticing Bianca this early on.
She composed herself and went to check out of the hospital.

‘Isn’t this Emily, the one the Johnson family found in the trash? I remember Bianca was picked up by her family. Are you just arriving, or did your family forget you at the hospital?”
The speaker was Sophia Brown, the daughter of the Brown family.
Being a cherished daughter herself, the social circle naturally liked to compare her with Bianca.

She didn’t like Bianca and looked down on Emily, who was picked up from the trash. Her words were not kind; she was trying to provoke Emily into causing trouble for Bianca.
Emily chose to ignore her and walked past her.
Hey, Sophia’s talking to you! Just like a beggar, no manners at all.”
Sophia’s sidekick blocked Emily, mocking her.
Emily was forced to stop, her gaze cold as she looked at Sophia.
Sophia was taken aback.
How could a weak, self–conscious beggar have such a commanding presence now?
She must be pretending.
Sophia raised her head proudly and stared at Emily, “Don’t glare at me like that. You should be glaring at those people who harassed Bianca. Aren’t you her sidekick, always defending her?”
“Do you have evidence?”
A dark light flashed in Emily’s eyes as she suddenly spoke.
