Chapter 31
“Watch your words. You’re a doctor too, right? You should know better than to judge someone by appearances. Just because you don’t have the skills doesn’t mean others don’t!”
Floyd shot back, defending Emily without hesitation.
He hadn’t really noticed Bianca’s demeanor before, but now he saw her sharp, calculating eyes. She seemed cold and preoccupied.
Bianca regretted losing her cool and letting Floyd hear her outburst.
She quickly tried to backtrack, “Dr. Ryan, you got me wrong. That’s not what I meant. Emily’s my sister, and I’ve never seen her study medicine. She only mentioned learning a bit from a random doctor, so I was just surprised and confused!*
If there was a mistake, it was Emily’s fault for keeping secrets.
She looked at Floyd with a pitiful expression.
Usually, this tactic worked well.
But Floyd, who had seen countless people and could read faces, saw right through her.
He looked stern, “You, as her sister, dont care about her and even doubt her? You don’t seem like sisters, more like enemies! Your sister is just being modest, don’t you understand?”
After scolding Bianca, he turned to Emily with a kind smile, “Emily, what was the patient’s condition? Was it a tough case?”
Emily shook her head, “The patient’s condition was a bit complicated. I handled the hypoglycemia, but there are other minor issues that need medication.”
The injuries on her aunt were from domestic violence. With memories from her past life, she couldn’t reveal this to outsiders.
In her previous life, she was too busy to notice, and her aunt hid it to avoid burdening her. By the time she visited, her aunt had already passed away.
Even though she avenged her in her past life, she hoped to ensure her aunt and her children were well in this life, not just holding her aunt’s ashes.
“I think you’re just not skilled enough, that’s why you’re saying this. Hypoglycemia can be treated with some sugar water. It shouldn’t take this long, and the patient hasn’t moved. If you can’t treat her, you should wait for Dr. Ryan. It’s not good to overstep your bounds.”
Lily, who didn’t study medicine, wasn’t afraid of angering Floyd.
So, she said what Bianca couldn’t.
Floyd, though old, had sharp, bright eyes. He was about to speak when…
‘Emily…”
A pharmacy employee helped Emily’s aunt, Violette, out. She looked much better.
Some of the onlookers who hadn’t left saw her walking out fine and started praising Emily’s medical skills.
“Violette!”
The first to speak wasn’t Emily. Bianca rushed over to hold Violette’s hand, showing concern, “Violette, why didn’t you come to our house when you arrived in Silverlight City? And you were unwell, Emily knew about it, but you hid it from me. Is it because I’m weak, so you didn’t want to worry me? Violette, now that you have Emily, are you neglecting me?”

Bianca’s tone was almost playful.
She subtly hinted that Emily could treat Violette so accurately because she already knew her condition.
Lily chimed in, I knew it. How impressive could she be? Turns out they know each other. Dr. Ryan, don’t be fooled by her tricks. They might have staged this while you were away!”
Floyd frowned.
Bianca’s eyes flashed with a smile.
She had heard that Floyd couldn’t tolerate deceit. Seeing him frown, he probably felt manipulated.
She wanted to see how Emily would win Floyd’s favor now.
“No, I didn’t even know I fainted. Emily didn’t know I was here either. She’s really good!” Violette defended Emily, sensing Lily’s mockery.
Violette’s anxious explanations only made things worse.
Emily patted Violette’s shoulder reassuringly, “Violette, it’s okay. Don’t mind what she says.”
Then she glared coldly at Lily, “I don’t need to prove my medical skills to you. You better shut up, or I might not be able to hold back from hitting you!”
“You…” Lily felt a sudden fear and couldn’t say another word.
Bianca quickly stepped in front of Lily, “Emily, Lily was just concerned for everyone. This is a pharmacy, and it should be a professional doctor treating patients. If you break the rules, who will dare to come here in the future?”
“Who said Emily isn’t a professional?” Floyd finally spoke up for Emily, “She works here. Treating patients is her job.”
He winked at Emily.
Usually, Emily didn’t treat patients often. If he could get her to work here, even once a month, he could learn a lot.
Emily used to focus solely on the Johnson family, solving their problems. She didn’t have the time to accept his offer.
Seeing Floyd’s intentions, she smiled wryly, “Yes, I work here now.”
This was her indirect agreement to Floyd’s request.
Floyd laughed heartily, “With your help, my job will be much easier.”
Floyd’s admiration for Emily was clear to Bianca. She feared Emily might soon become Floyd’s student.
Jealous and furious, she wanted to say something.
But Floyd spoke first, “What are you doing here if you’re not a patient? Leave. The pharmacy doesn’t welcome troublemakers. Go, go, go!”
He directly ordered them out.
Bianca felt humiliated but had to maintain a polite facade, “Dr. Ryan, we won’t disturb you any longer. May I consult you on medical matters another time?”
Floyd waved her off, “Don’t you have a teacher? Why come to me? Are you saying you’re better than your teacher?”
“No, no… I just thought if my teacher is busy… Bianca’s face turned pale.

Chapter 31
She needed her teacher’s guidance and couldn’t afford to offend him.
Floyd snorted, “Are you saying I’m not busy? I’m much busier than your teacher!”
Bianca was once again rebuked by Floyd.
She didn’t dare say another word, fearing more mistakes.
Finally, she turned to Violette, “Violette, you’re not well. Why not come to the Johnson Villa to rest?”
“Violette, you can stay with me!” Emily didn’t want Violette to go to the Johnson Villa and be humiliated. She guessed Violette needed Eli’s help.
Violette patted Emily’s hand reassuringly, “I know about your situation. Don’t worry, I’ll talk to your parents and get some answers for you.”
She then looked at Bianca, her expression cold, “Let’s go together.”
She had noticed Bianca’s subtle jabs at Emily.
It had been a while since they last met, and she didn’t realize how much Bianca had changed until now.
Maybe the problem lay with Eli and Cleo.
Emily’s eyes reddened.
Violette was thinking of her.
It was okay. Now that she had the ability, she could help Violette when needed.
Emily didn’t stop Violette from going to the Johnson Villa, watching as Bianca led her away.
“Emily, you promised to come here for consultations!” Floyd quickly reminded her.
He was afraid that she might change her mind.
Emily smiled, “Don’t worry, I won’t go back on my word.”
*Dr. Ryan, I have a prescription that needs your expertise!” A bold voice called from the door.
Emily looked at the newcomer, “It’s you?”
