Rhett grabbed Sofia by the neck, “If you don’t come back with me, I’ll strangle her. If I can’t pay the debt, I won’t survive anyway. We might as well all meet the Grim Reaper together!” 

Violette’s face turned pale, but she didn’t dare to move forward. 

Emily gave Rhett a cold look. 

“Let’s go, Violette. Do you really want to gamble on this madman’s humanity?” 

Violette wanted to say something, but seeing Sofia’s painful expression and Emily’s confident nod, she finally agreed. 

The group left. 

Meanwhile, the property manager watched Emily leave and immediately called York. 

He quickly reported the situation. 

“Got it.” 

York hung up the phone and reported to Daniel. 

“Mr. Smith, Ms. Johnson is a delicate young woman. If she gets involved with loan sharks, she might get hurt. Should I go handle it?” 

York reminded him with concern. 

After all, Emily had saved Daniel’s life, and given Daniel’s attitude towards her, York felt compelled to suggest this. 

Delicate? 

Daniel leaned back on the hospital bed, his eyes unreadable. 

“Find out who this Dean is. Don’t intervene immediately. Let’s see how Emily handles it,” Daniel said in a deep voice. 

Though his emotions were hard to read, York understood. If Emily couldn’t handle it, they would step in. 

However, Daniel’s words seemed to imply he knew Emily could handle it. 

Emily didn’t know her situation was transparent to Daniel. 

They had already gotten into a car heading to Rhett’s house. 

Emily sat in the front. 

Through the rearview mirror, she saw Rhett slightly turn and take out his phone, sneakily sending a message to someone. 

Emily thought about the information she had seen.

Rhett’s lover seemed to have connections with loan sharks. 

Emily wondered if Dean was involved or if Dean had been called by that mistress. 

She didn’t expose his actions. 

Instead, a sly smile appeared on her lips. 

It would be better if they came! 

It would be more fun to deal with them all at once! 

After sending the message, Rhett visibly relaxed, his mood improving. 

The car soon arrived.

They got out and walked to Rhett’s house. 

The neighbors had lived there long enough to know each other. 

The neighbors upstairs and downstairs had heard the commotion caused by the loan sharks. 

But they only occasionally peeked out to see what was happening, not daring to intervene. 

Seeing Rhett and Violette return, they immediately poked their heads out. 

Someone shouted, “Rhett, you’re finally back! You should check on your mom. She was scared to death by those thugs. I heard they’re loan sharks? Did you really owe them money?” 

“What business is it of yours? Even if I owe money, we have the money to pay!” 

Rhett had many flaws, including a bad temper and a need to show off. 

He immediately yelled at the neighbor who asked. 

Then he looked at Violette with disdain, “Hurry up! What’s holding you back?” 

Even though he sped up, he was still slower than Emily, clearly trying to use her as a shield. 

Emily and the group reached the stairs. 

They saw several young men with tattoos and carrying sticks guarding the door. 

Violette and Sofia shivered in fear, but Emily remained calm. 

She was the first to step forward. 

This made Rhett look at her several times.

Chapter 58 

When they entered the house, they saw Fallon sitting on the floor, crying and slapping her thigh. 

Opposite her sat a man in his thirties with a scar on his face, wearing a jacket that couldn’t hide his tattoos. 

Hearing the commotion, he looked at Emily. 

His fierce face softened when he saw Emily’s increasingly beautiful face. He smiled, ‘You’re here!” 

He then looked at the people behind Emily, Rhett, tell me, are you paying the debt or what?”
