Chapter 105 Ava’s Coming–Of–Age Party

Jane couldn’t help sneaking in a few more quick squeezes. But since she knew Ava was shy, she didn’t dare go overboard–she didn’t want Ava to think she was some kind of weirdo. 

Ava quickly changed into a silk dress. “Okay, what do you think?” 

Jane’s eyes lit 

1. up. “Oh my god, you look amazing. You’re like a whole new person! Come on, walk around a bit for me!” 

Ava paced back and forth across the room. “Happy now?” 

“Totally. Now try on the other one.” 

Ava did as she was told and changed into the other silk dress. Jane watched her and sighed. “Now I understand what Asnio meant. Some people just make silk dresses look otherworldly- elegant and completely unforgettable. That’s you. I’ve never seen anyone pull off this look the way you do. Even though you’re all covered up, I can’t take my eyes off you. Is this what they call understated sexiness?” 

Ava’s lips twitched. What a weird way to put it. 

“So, which one do you think I should wear for the party?” Ava asked. 

“Both colors look great on you and make your skin glow. Personally, I lean toward the purple one. But honestly, you’d look gorgeous in either. I bet people are going to lose their minds.” 

Ava choked. “Lose their minds?” 

Jane burst out laughing and pinched Ava’s cheek. “You’re going to look so good, and there will be plenty of single men at the party. Don’t you think they’ll all be drooling over you? I almost want to hide you away for myself, and you think your guys are going to be fine with this? Your men are not as cool and generous as you think.” 

Ava finally caught Jane’s meaning and just gave a helpless smile. “It’s just a coming–of–age party. Is it really that big of a deal?” 

“Of course! Coming–of–age parties are where all the romances start. It isn’t just the Morren family’s relatives coming–pretty much all the big names on Capitol Planet will be there. We might keep a low profile, but everyone in high society has heard about you, so they’re all dying to see for themselves. Plus, I heard Tylissa will be there, too.” 

“Tylissa? She’s coming?” Ava was genuinely surprised. She’d thought it was just a regular party, not something that would get Tylissa to show up. 

“Are we close to the Clarks?”

Chapter 105 Ava’s Coming–Of–Age Party 

Jane shook her head. “Not especially. But you’re the first person in history to awaken elemental power, so that’s why the Clarks are sending Tylissa to represent their family.” 

Ava realized her coming–of–age party was going to be like being put on display at the zoo. She sighed. “So I’m basically a monkey in a cage, there for everyone to gawk at?” 

Jane couldn’t help but laugh. “Who compares themselves to a monkey? Let them look. You’re prettier than anyone else there, so all they can do is be jealous. And there’ll be plenty of other girls from elite families, too. I’ll introduce you to some fun people.” 

In the blink of an eye, Ava’s coming–of–age party arrived. In the middle of the night, she got woken up and dragged out of bed, yawning and half–asleep. 

Margaret and Jane looked at her drowsy, obedient face and couldn’t help but find her adorable. Jane pinched her cheek. “Wake up! You’re the star today. You have to look best.”

Ava glanced at the dark sky outside, almost wanting to cry. “Isn’t it too early? Why do I have to get up now?” 

“It’ll take at least three or four hours to get ready, and as the host, you have to get to the estate early. You can’t just show up at night,” Jane explained. 

Ava couldn’t help complaining, “Why all the fuss? Who says we have to get all dressed up? It’s not like I can see myself–everyone else but me gets to enjoy it for free.” 

Jane smiled helplessly and said to her mom, “Mom, she’s still half–asleep, just like a little kid.” 

Margaret hugged Ava and coaxed, “I know, but today’s your big day. You want to look beautiful for it. Go take a bath–I’ve already filled the tub for you.” 

Ava hugged her pillow and refused to budge. “Aunt Margaret, I’m sleepy.” 

“I know, but just hang in there for today. You won’t have to wake up early tomorrow. Go on, we’ll keep you company.” 

Margaret couldn’t help but melt at Ava’s rare display of cuteness. She stroked Ava’s hair and cuddled her close. “Come on, sweetie.” 

Jane stood watching and turned on her Holoband. “Ava, if you stall any longer, I’ll hit record and play this at your wedding. You’re going to die of embarrassment then.” 

“You’re already a married woman, and yet you are still teasing Ava?” Margaret said while giving her daughter a playful swat.
