Chapter 14 Two Beauties in the Park

After reading Tylissa’s information, Ava felt that this fellow traveler from her world didn’t have it easy either. She had grown up without parents, and everything she did had been watched by the public. 

Now, people online were still saying that when Tylissa awakened her power, her rank would definitely be at least that of a count. 

Ava was determined to cancel the match. Her family tried to talk her out of it, but once she made up her mind, no one could change it. 

Ultimately, Jonathan stepped in to contact the heads of the involved families. Then he personally took Ava to visit each of them to apologize in person and show their sincerity. At least with his reputation, the other families agreed to let it go. 

On the third morning, Ava told her family her reason and had an android drive a hovercar to take her out to meet her online friend. 

They agreed to meet at Central Park. Ava wore a wide–brimmed black hat with a white veil and quietly watched people walking by. She looked very cautious. 

When Lianne arrived, she froze upon seeing the fully covered girl sitting on the park bench. Her mouth dropped open in shock. 

“Hi, are you Ava?” A sweet, doll–like voice sounded beside her. 

Ava quickly looked up. She had been so bored watching ants on the ground that she hadn’t noticed someone approach. 

“I’m Ava.” 

Lianne covered her mouth and laughed. “You’re wrapped up so tight. I’m Lianne.” 

Ava looked at the young girl in front of her. She had a round, babyish face, fair skin, and beautiful eyes. Her hair was a shade of orange–brown, and she was dressed like a little princess in a frilly outfit with a pair of black leather shoes. 

Ava lifted her veil. “I’m just used to it. It’s hard to change right away.” 

Lianne found her even prettier than she had imagined. Her heart skipped a beat. She wished she could 

go home and make a figurine of her right away. 

She also thought Ava’s voice was very pleasant. She wanted to hug her and give her a few kisses,

but was afraid she might scare her, so she held herself back. “It’s okay. I get it. You’re so beautiful. If people saw you standing here alone, every guy around would run over to hit on you. That would be exhausting. Can I hold your arm?” 

Lianne was a bit shorter, standing at about five feet six inches. Ava thought she was adorable. At home, she was always the shortest in the family and had to look up at everyone else. 

Ava reached out her arm. “Of course, beautiful princess.” 

Lianne giggled nonstop. The two of them walked along a cobblestone path in the park with two android bodyguards following behind. 

The sight of two young, beautiful girls walking together drew many stares. But once people noticed the red glow in the androids‘ eyes, no one dared to approach. 

A bold man secretly pulled out his Holoband and recorded a short video. When he saw how gorgeous they looked on the screen, he swallowed hard, saved the clip, and posted it online. 

‘Breaking news! Two stunning beauties spotted in Central Park!‘ 

The video spread quickly and soon blew up online. Many people nearby rushed to the park hoping to see the girls in 

person. 

Lianne noticed the growing crowd and got annoyed. She had chosen Central Park because she thought it would be a quiet place. She didn’t expect so many people to still be around after the holidays. 

Doesn’t anyone have work to do? 

Ava only thought the park was surprisingly lively and didn’t think too much about it. 

“Ava, let’s go somewhere else. There are too many people here. I don’t know why it’s so crowded today.” 

Since Lianne was the host, Ava went along with her. The two held hands and crossed the bridge to the parking lot, Ava and Lianne got into the same hovercar, while the android who brought her earlier drove the other one away, 

Even after they left, some people lingered in the area. 

“The short one looks like the Mercer heiress. Who’s the tall one? I’ve never seen her before.” 

“I’ll pay a lot for any info about her.” 

“When did the capital get another stunning beauty? She looked so elegant and even smelled amazing. She walked past me, and her scent’s still on my clothes. I’m not washing them tonight. I’m not showering for a week.”

Ava and Lianne arrived at a place called Elysian. The android parked the car, and doormen were already waiting by the entrance. 

Lianne naturally placed her hand on the doorman’s arm as he bowed slightly and reminded her gently to watch her step. 

Ava felt a bit uncomfortable. When another doorman came forward to help her, she politely refused. 

The club was famous for its privacy and security. It was an exclusive place that offered entertainment, dining, and shopping. Only top politicians and wealthy elites could enter. Having money alone wasn’t enough.
