Chapter 165 Ava Meets the Family 

Elena watched all their interactions. 

Didn’t expect Ava to be this shy. 

She even blushed just from holding hands and looked more innocent than Ryan.

Elena was screaming inside. Watching her sons fall in love felt way too fun. Still, she had to keep a calm, grown–up front. She couldn’t react the way she wanted to. 

She also couldn’t show anything at all, or she might scare Ava. 

Last time they visited, both sons almost got rejected. Ethan had saved the situation. His slow, gentle approach worked well with Ava. 

With that thought, Elena looked at Ava’s pretty face. Such a pure girl somehow matched her two sons. She really didn’t know what good luck they had to meet her. 

Ava clearly had no experience with love. She grew up in a very sheltered environment. 

She never dealt with men chasing her. She never saw their games. She never built any emotional defense either. No wonder she couldn’t handle direct and intense attention from men. 

Elena felt a little sympathy for her. 

When they reached the door, Ethan finally let go of Ava’s hand, but Ryan still didn’t. 

Ava shot him a quiet look. 

Ryan noticed and reluctantly let go. 

She felt relieved and looked at Elena. “Mrs. Brock, sorry to bother you.” 

Before Elena could reply, Ryan held up the box in his hand. “Mom, this is a gift from Ava.” 

Elena took it and wrapped an arm around Ava. “You didn’t need to bring anything. You’re family now. Don’t be so polite. You’re always welcome here.” 

Inside the house, Ava saw Dylan sitting on a chair. A young girl stood next to him and talked to him. 

Elena frowned at the girl. “Sarah, come greet Ava.” 

Then she turned to Ava. “This is my daughter. She’s seventeen and still a little troublemaker.” 

Sarah was tall and sweet–looking. She had a bright and cheerful look. Ava liked her at first glance. 

Sarah ran over. Elena frowned deeper. “Can you behave a little?” 

Sarah ignored her. She looked Ava up and down before she glanced at her two half–brothers. 

She clicked her tongue and looked at Ava with pity. “Ava, you’re so unlucky. Getting matched with my older brother is already a stretch. Why did you get matched with my younger brother, too?”

Sarah rolled her eyes. “That doesn’t mean you’re actually a good match. Also, you’re awkward with feelings, and your mouth is sharp. What woman would want you? You’re just lucky to meet Ava. If not, you’d stay single forever.” 

Ryan ground his teeth. “If you keep stirring up trouble, you won’t get any allowance next month.” 

Sarah changed her tone at once. She smiled at Ava. “Ah, Ava, I was just joking. Ryan only sounds sharp to outsiders. In his industry, many women try to get close to him. He never gives them any attention. He’s only cold to them. He’s not like that with you. 

“Ava, you’re so pretty. You look great next to my brother. A proud, sharp–mouthed guy and a gentle, smart woman are a perfect match.” 

Ryan’s forehead veins almost popped. “Sarah, repeat yourself. Who’s trying to get close to me? I don’t even know that. And who’s proud and sharp–mouthed?” 

Sarah clung to Ava’s arm and pouted. “Ava, he’s being mean to me.” 

Ava watched the siblings. They teased each other, but Ryan only scolded her a little. It showed their relationship was good. 

She patted Sarah’s arm and looked at Ryan. “You’re much older than her. Let her talk a little. It’s fine. I didn’t take it seriously.” 

Sarah grinned. She looked sly. She finally found his weakness. From now on, she had a shield when they fought. 

She shot Ryan a smug look and made a silent expression at him.
