Sarah never expected something this good to happen. She jumped up right away. “Ryan, I won’t fight you for Ava anymore. You two have fun.”Â
Ryan felt a sharp ache in his teeth. She normally teased him or called him by some annoying nickname. Now she suddenly sounded way too polite. It felt strange. She really was money–driven. Still, that was fine. Spending a little money to get a quiet date with Ava was worth it.Â
Ava was amused by how the siblings acted around each other. Their way of getting along was completely different from how Asher and Jane interacted.Â
Ryan took Ava’s hand and pulled her forward. Sarah stood behind them and laughed. She waved both hands. “Good luck, Ryan!”Â
Elena watched her son and daughter and shook her head. They were already grown adults, yet they still acted like kids around each other. They argued every time they met. It had been better in recent years since Ryan stayed busy. Before that, they had argued nonstop.Â
Ava didn’t know where Ryan was taking her. She just followed him and then asked, “Where are we going?”Â
Ryan looked at her and smiled. “It’s a bit cold outside today, so I won’t take you out. I’ll take you around when it gets warmer. Today we’re going to my secret place. Do you want to see it?”Â
Not far from the Brock Residence, there was a small building. Ava followed Ryan inside. She raised her eyebrows slightly when she saw the messy room.Â
Ryan regretted it the moment he opened the door. He had forgotten to clean up. He looked at Ava with some worry and rushed to pick up the music sheets on the floor.Â
This looked like Ryan’s workspace. There were many instruments inside. There was a glass wall in the middle. It looked like there was a recording room behind it.Â
Ryan picked up the sheets and explained quickly. “It wasn’t this messy before. I worked too late that day and forgot to clean.”Â
Ava also picked up two sheets and handed them to him. “It’s fine. Your kind of work depends on inspiration. When you’re writing music, you have to catch ideas when they come. I get it.”Â
Stellar Network spoke highly of Ryan’s skills. His voice and singing were both top level. He could also write his own music. That made him a rare all–round artist.Â
Ava was more curious about the group’s name. “Can I ask why your group is called K.M.N? Does it mean something special?”Â
The name didn’t sound powerful. It sounded abstract instead.Â
Ryan felt a little embarrassed. “We picked it randomly when we debuted at twenty. It does sound kind of childish now, K means king. That’s me. M means monster, and N means nightingale. Those belong to the other two. I’ll introduce you to them later.”Â
Ava didn’t expect that meaning. It really was a bit childish. She pressed her lips together and looked like she wanted to laugh, but didn’t.Â

Ryan knew she would react like that. He sighed. “If you want to laugh, just laugh. I admit it’s an old embarrassment. We were too lazy to change it later.”Â

Ava tried to hold it in. “It’s fine. I don’t think it’s that funny. Lots of people in entertainment use strange names. Yours isn’t the strangest.”Â
Ryan laughed. “Then I should thank my peers for making me look better.”Â
He pressed Ava into a chair and pulled one over for himself. “Is there a song you want to hear? I can sing for you.“.Â
“Is this a private concert just for me?”Â
“I don’t want you to be bored. I can’t do much else. I can only sing. People in the industry say I’m pretty good. Have you heard my songs before?”Â
Ava looked at him. He sat there openly and watched her with hope in his eyes. He looked tense. He clearly cared about her answer.Â
“Sorry, I didn’t follow idols before. I didn’t pay attention to pop music or entertainment news. My life used to be boring. Following stars felt like a waste of time back then.”Â
If someone else said that, Ryan would’ve thought they were pretending. This was Ava. He knew her background. All he felt was sorry for her.Â
“Okay. I feel a bit sad hearing that. I’ll be with you from now on. I believe you’ll like my singing.” He picked up an instrument and tested the strings.Â
“Then, I’ll start now.”Â
