Chapter 96 A Treasured GiftÂ

“This won’t do, Mr. Mett. I understand how you feel, but it’s simply too precious. I can’t possibly take it!”Â
“No, I insist. It suits you perfectly.”Â
Seeing the two of them arguing back and forth, Asnio stepped forward and said, “Ava, since Mr. Mett wants you to have it, why not take it and show us what you’re capable of?”Â
“Asnio, it’s a national treasure!” Ava pressed her fingers to her forehead helplessly. “Instead of helping me persuade Mr. Mett, why are you on his side now?”Â
Asnio laughed. “You don’t need to worry, child. These lifeless objects are just sitting around otherwise. It isn’t rare for museums to loan out their treasured jewelry. Just last year, the Clark family borrowed two sets of top–tier museum pieces for their heiress‘ coming–of–age ceremony. There’s no need to feel pressured.”Â
Austin said decisively, “Ava, I’m counting on you to film a promotional video for our museum. I’d like you to help spread awareness of our culture, so stop refusing.”Â
She had no choice but to agree.Â
She changed into another purple silk dress embroidered with butterflies, then changed into her own clothes afterward. Austin measured her wrist, gently squeezed her hand, and said, “It’s a good fit. Since your bone structure is soft enough, you’ll be fine.”Â
In just that short moment, countless thoughts flashed through Austin’s mind. He thought about the museum’s prized treasure, wondering what kind of effect it would have if she were to wear itÂ
He didn’t dare think further. The more he thought, the more excited he became.Â
He was afraid even his imagination wouldn’t be able to handle it.Â
While Ava was speaking with Austin and Asnio, the others didn’t interrupt and only listened quietly. However, if one looked carefully, it was obvious their gazes weren’t quite the same as usual–they were ogling her in secret.Â
Ava really liked the two silk dresses and highly acknowledged Austin’s craftsmanship.Â
“Mr. Mett, the promotional video might take some time. I need to pick a school after the coming–of–age ceremony, and I’ll have to wait until I’m settled in school before discussing things with you again.Â
“Let’s connect on our Holobands so we can stay in touchÂ
Austin grinned widely, smiling so happily that it was hard to imagine such a goofy expression appearing on the usually serious museum director.Â
After they exchanged Holoband IDs, Austin said, “Ava, I used to be a lecturer too. I taught Classical Aesthetics and Ancient Terran Arts and Culture. If you ever need anything, just let me know. I’ve got connections, after all.”Â
She smiled. “I’ll do just that.”Â
He regretted saying that almost immediately. Given the Morren family’s status, what resources could they possibly lack? His offer sounded a bit presumptuous. Fortunately, this child had a good temper and didn’t take offense.Â

Asnio helped pack Ava’s clothes, glanced at the time, and asked, “Are you planning to head back now, or do you still have other plans? If you do, I’ll have someone send the clothes to the Morren Residence later.”Â
Ava checked the time, realizing it was noon. “Since it’s already lunchtime, why don’t we have lunch together?”Â
Asnio smiled and waved his hand. “I’ll pass. I have guests coming in a while.”Â
Austin did the same. “I appreciate your kindness, but I’m afraid I’ll have to decline. I need to return to theÂ
museum.”Â
Ava didn’t insist. “Alright then, Asnio. I’ll head back first. I’ll just take the clothes with me.”Â
As soon as she finished speaking, Ethan had already taken the bags from Asnio. Ava turned to Austin and said, “Mr. Mett, you must attend my coming–of–age ceremony with your wife.”Â
After leaving Asnio’s private studio, Keith asked, “Avie, what would you like to have? Let’s have lunch first before going back to the Morren Residence.”Â
Ava thought for a moment, then looked at everyone. “I’m not very familiar with the Capitol Planet. Do you guys have any recommendations?”Â
“How about Mitchell’s Private Kitchen?” Mason suggested. “You seemed to like it last time.”Â
Mitchell’s Private Kitchen? Several of them glanced at Avas hand in secret.Â
Back then, he even posted a photo in the group chat just to show off. Naturally, no one had forgotten about it.Â
Ava really liked that restaurant, so she nodded. “Let’s head over there. Lunch is on me.”Â
“You’re paying? That won’t do.” Laurent shook his head disapprovingly. With the little allowance she received, how much money could she possibly have?Â
“It’s my treat. Do you think I can’t afford it?” Ava glanced at them. “If you don’t want me to treat you, let’s just head back to the Morren Residence.”Â
She had amassed quite a fortune.Â
The Morren family was extremely generous with her, providing Ava with a six–figure monthly allowance.Â
After she returned home, her older brothers, sisters, and brothers–in–law had all given her welcome gifts.Â
At this point, she was basically a rich lady with seven figures to her name.Â
