Ava had already guessed their relationship.
She asked softly, “He’s your manager?”
“Yeah, and who are you?” Soren looked her up and down

She looked as good as any actress in show business, which left him alert.
Ryan noticed Soren’s eyes lingering on her and felt anneyed. “What are you staring at? Keep that up, you’ll lose your eyes!”

After he said that, Ryan grabbed Ava by the wrist and pulled her away, causing Soren to almost freeze in place. So, this is why. He has been chasing a woman.
Then again, chasing a woman?

The same Ryan who fights with everyone?
The one with a sharp mouth who never went easy on actresses
The one whom people call a walking lie detector?
The same Ryan who wouldn’t treat women any differently even if the planet blew up?
It took Soren only a second before he reacted.
He rushed to block Ryan and Ava, looking worried. “I’m begging you. You could at least tell me first if you are dating someone. At least I am prepared for it. By bringing her over for a meal just like this, what if someone takes photos? No wonder you’ve been ignoring everyone. You always claimed you were busy, no matter who asked you out. You’ve been hiding your relationship from us.”
Ryan explained, “So what if someone takes photos? I’m not scared. Didn’t I already say not to look for me? Just train like how you always do.
“Please. If this gets exposed, do you know how big a mess it will be? You know how fans are. They’ll tear this girl apart. Right?” Soren tried to talk sense into him. Then,
he looked at Ava. “Sorry. Can I talk to him for a minute?”
Ava said, “You two can talk. I’ll head off first.”
She tried to pull her hand free from Ryan’s grip, but to no avail. Glaring at him, she continued, “Let go. You should discuss with your manager about work.”
“I won’t let go. I’m on break. I’m not discussing work with anyone,” Ryan insisted, looking unapologetic and refusing to release her.
Soren felt a wave of panic hit him. If this got online, the news would blow up.
He didn’t even know what their relationship was, but it was clear that Ryan had fallen for her.
Soren felt restless and uneasy, knowing the impact it would bring with such news. They were in a hallway

with people coming and going. Although Ryan was in disguise, a man and a woman pulling at each other still drew attention.
“You’d better let her go. I’ll keep quiet, alright? We’re in public, so at least think about your image,” Soren advised, looking around in fear.
Ava started to understand Ryan’s personality. He didn’t care about anyone else and liked to do things his own way. She snapped in a low voice, “You are hurting me.”
Ryan released her right away.
He saw a red mark on her wrist. “Does it hurt? I didn’t use much force.”
She rotated her wrist.
Looking at him, she advised, “Since your manager is here, have a proper chat with him. Don’t lose your temper. I don’t like people who can’t control their emotions. I’ll go to the private room first. Come back after you’re done. Okay?”
She looked at Soren with a polite nod, after which she walked off calmly.
Soren finally relaxed. It would have been disastrous for Ryan had their interaction been uploaded online. His behavior could even be interpreted as harassment, which would ultimately destroy his career.
What shocked Soren more was Ava herself.
Although the woman herself looked gentle and quiet, her simple words were enough to make Ryan back off. It almost felt unreal to know that Ryan actually listened to her.
Ryan kept watching Ava’s back until she turned the corner. Then, he looked at Soren with dark eyes. “Next time you stare at her for more than three seconds, you’ll regret it.”
Soren shivered. “She’s your girl. I wouldn’t cross that line even if I wanted to. I know my place.
“I just think you should’ve told me first. If this gets posted online one day, and I know nothing, how am I supposed to handle it?
“How long are you going to rest? The first show of this year’s tour is coming soon. You disappeared after the new year, nor did you show up or reply to messages. The guys are waiting for you.”
Ryan turned the ring on his finger. He looked annoyed, realizing that he had taken on too much work last year. As his expression darkened, he informed, “Assign some of my work to them. Let them take over. If they can’t, then cancel it and pay the penalty.”
