It was a Saturday morning and I had gone early to the hospital to get a check up. I wanted to find out if they could discover the disease I would get in future. I had an MRI scan first so they see my organs and then they drew my blood afterwards.

At first I wasn’t sure if I could afford the tests required but then I found out I was still registered under Keith’s health care plan. Luckily for me I could get all the tests done with no issue.

In my past life when I got tested after I started feeling sick, the results said multiple of my organs were failing. However, they didn’t know why. They told me that by that point it was too late whatever had caused my sickness had done too much damage to identify the cause. Hopefully, this time with frequent testing perhaps they could discover the first organ that would fail and hence the cause before too much damage

had been done.

Leaving the examination room I found Tony in the waiting area just outside the room.

He was playing video games on a tablet. Shall we go?I asked him when I reached him. He looked up from his tablet at me and nodded. On the seat beside him was a large bag which I picked up slung over my shoulder. I thanked the lady by the reception near by for keeping an eye on him and we left.

What did the doctor say?Tony asked.

Nothing yet, it’s just a check up they’ll give me the results later.I reminded him.

At first I wanted to leave Tony at home not wanting to bore him with the hospital visit. However, he insisted on coming. He said that it was fine even if it was boring as long as he got to spend time with me. I was touched by that. It made me feel even worse for all the times I had left him at home to go try to speak with Keith.

I wondered how Tony was doing at school. Like I always asked him everyday after school and he always gave the same answer, that he was fine. However, was that really the truth?

He didn’t come home with any visible bruises after that day and seemed happy when

he was with me.

However, I remembered what he had said to me in the hospital the day I died. School was hell but it would have been better if you were there for me!”

Was he just pretending to be alright so I didn’t have to worry? He was very capable of that. I was worried that, that was the case. I internally sighed why did children have to make parents worry so much.

We made our way down the hallway from the examination room and reached the elevator. Upon reaching the ground floor Tony and I walked through the hospital entrance hall and headed towards the hospital exit. Where I saw a familiar man run past me. I looked behind, my eyes following the man.

Is that Mike? I thought to myself. It sure looked like him. I wonder why he’s here I thought to myself. Had he not been running I would have greeted him.

Tony and Is next task after this was to care of what was in the bag I held. Inside were many of the luxury goods Diana had bought. I planned to sell them off and get the money back. We went to the first of many accessory pawn shops I would be going to. Hopefully I would be done before the late afternoon.

By the early afternoon we were done and I had made a total of 20,000(USD) back. I was happy. I’d sell the rest of the stuff the next and make the full 50,000. There was a lot I could do with 50,000. I could invest it in something and make even more money. Way better than relying on Keith and Diana.

I had lunch with Tony at a fast food place. Ironically, one that was owned by the Carringtons.

I was still a little worried about the lunch with the higher up this coming week but at least if things went south I had a back up plan with the 50000. But I was hoping if they did recognize me they would just judge and look down on me like all other socialites. I wanted to keep all my options open and still have a job.

After lunch Tony and I went back home to refresh for bit then left again. We went to a nearby park we didn’t have enough time to do a big activity like the last few weekends but I wanted to do something with him nonetheless. Tomorrow wasn’t ideal because we had to clean up the house, reset and prepare for the week. I also wanted to start looking into divorce lawyers.

Mum, follow what I’m doing,Tony said to me as skillfully cycled around me with his his bicycle.

I on the other hand was on the ground my bicycle pitifully laying beside me. I rubbed y back on the spot I had fallen on.

How embarrassing, I thought to myself. I was being taught how to ride a bicycle by Tony.

After stopping by at home we found some bikes in the garage and thought we could go for a ride. However, I’d never ridden a bike before. However, Tony assured he could teach me. I agreed but it was funny. The roles should have been reversed. I should be teaching him how to ride a bike, not him teaching me.

You’re terrible at this mum!he said to me. That little liar! He was the worst teacher

ever.

I got up from the ground and playfully narrowed my eyes at him as if I was angry.

Oh yeah?I said threateningly. I’ll show just how terrible I can be.”

I then left my bike and threateningly ran to him.

No,” he laughed and he began cycling faster to get away from me.

Better hope I don’t catch you!I said as I ran after him.

****

Do you think I’ll get better at riding in the ?I asked him as we began to make our way home when evening came.
