JASMINES‘ POV 1Â
When it was time for me to clock out at 5:30 I went to see Louis in his office.Â
“Okay so I rescheduled your meeting on Wednesday for Thursday afternoon so it won’t clash with you preparing for the event,” I informed him.Â
“Sounds good,” he said.Â
“What’s this fundraising event even about?” I asked him. I’d never heard of it beforeÂ
this, so this must be the first time it’s happened. It wasn’t a recurring event like the annual Acland party.Â
Before Louis could answer and explain the event I then said.Â
“You know what I’ll see when we go.”Â
“No, you’re not coming with me for this one,” He told me matter–of–factly.Â
“Why?” I asked him.Â
“Because you don’t have to,” he told me.Â
I was literally going to accompany him to most of his meetings this week. I wondered why there was suddenly an issue.Â
I contemplated for a bit confused as I thought of the event. I imagined it was a big event with lots of socialites who would be attending. And if that was the case…Â
“Is Keith going to be there?” I then asked.Â
“Yes,” he slowly replied.Â
Now it all made sense. “I see,” I replied. I wouldn’t want to bump into Keith after our last encounter. I recalled hechad yet to follow up on my divorce request.Â
“I just want to prevent any incidents from occurring,” Louis told me.Â
I let out a sigh. He was right about that but there was also another issue.Â
“If anything I’m also worried for you as well. Last time you two were staring at each other like you were going to fight.Â
I promise I won’t do anything,” Louis answered a little too quickly.Â

My eyes narrowed in suspicion. That man was lying to me I knew it.Â
“But anyway on Wednesday you’re going to see your old coworkers, how do you feel about that?” he changed the subject. I shook my head at this.Â
On Wednesday I had to do a follow up on some of the restaurants including the one IÂ
used to worked for.Â
I was looking forward to it since I was going to see Megan, Mike and the manager again. Have a conversation with them about everything.Â
“I’m looking forward to it,” I answered him.Â
When we arrived home I greeted Tony who was already home. We had dinner I spent some time with Tony afterward before he went to bed.Â
When I retired to my room for the night I checked my phone and saw a message on my Stargram. It was from Rebecca. Excited I opened it.Â
“Jasmine, I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything! The restaurant’s HR reached out to me and say they will be helping me testify against Gatwick and even said I will receive compensation for the situation! Thank you so much!”Â
A wide smile was on my face as I read the message. I was so happy things had worked out for us.Â
I then recalled the email from the clinic I had received and decided to send my brother the message even if he refused to respond I would just try.Â
Once my message was sent I then continued to go through the files I’d borrowed from Louis to continue learning about the company. I also continued researching and studying finance and management to better understand and be more adept at work.Â
The following day at work I continued working on the paperwork I had to do and Ms Deepak handed me more that I had to deal with. I received a response from my brother.Â
“Jasmine considering the situation you’re in that is the last thing I expected you to contact me for,” his response read. ‘Shouldn’t you be more focused on your husband? How will accessing mothers health documents help?‘Â
My brother to my knowledge, had no idea I had left Keith, filed for divorce and was staying with Louis Carrington. Neither did I plan on telling him. We rarely ever talked. It’s like we were strangers. Whilst my brother didn’t abuse me like my father, he didÂ

cosign my father’s treatment of me. He never challenged it.Â
‘Please I really need your approval for the document access. I messaged him back.Â

The following day at around mid–morning I left the HQ offices and began making my rounds to all The Garden House restaurants I was scheduled to go pass through and receive and deliver documents from the managers.Â
The first restaurants I visited went without a hitch. I introduced myself to the managers as the CEO’s new assistant and we exchanged the documents.Â
When I finally arrived at the garden house I used to work at I stood by the entrance for a moment before entering. I couldn’t believe that just last week I used to work here. I wasn’t sure what I was going to say to everyone but I guess I was about to find out.Â
I entered the restaurant and went through the finishing area which was in the middle of lunch service. I saw Mike and Megan serving diners. They looked my way as I walked past. I smiled at them and waved my hand. I would talk to them after my meeting with the manager.Â
“Jasmine,” the manager said my name when I entered his office. “Or Ms Towers as I should now refer to you.”Â
“Good afternoon, Manager Michael,” I greeted him. “and it’s fine you can still call meÂ
Jasmine.‘Â
“First of all I wanted to apologize for not helping you that day. I was scared I didn’t know you were working with the CEO.”Â
“Dont worry about it, you didn’t know. Gatwick was threatening you. I could explained the situation better as well,” I assured him.Â
He then looked at me his eyes was a look of guilt. “Jasmine, thank you for stopping Gatwick. Honestly, to both you and the CEO. Everyone in the restaurant had been afraid of him,” he thanked me sincerely.Â
“I’m just glad I could help,” I told him. We talked for a little while, then exchanged the documents. Before I left the office I informed him that I would speak to Mike and Megan.Â
I quickly greeted them but I was running behind scheduleÂ

When I returned to the HQI went straight to Louis‘ office to hand in the documents. I approached the door and just as I was about to ring I heard voices inside.Â
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. I didn’t recall Louis having a meeting scheduled for this time. In fact, I had changed a prior meeting he was supposed to have around this time. At first, I thought it a manager or something inside but I didn’t recognize the voice. Was it a meeting?Â
“What if we get serious lawsuits thrown at us?!” I then heard Louis shout from inside.Â
I then stopped walking, less than a meter from the door, surprised by Louis outburst.Â
“I don’t know sir, there’s nothing more I can do or say. You’ll have to take it up with them,” he said.Â
I guessed that it most like had something to do with the Gatwick situation since they mentioned lawsuits. However, I needed more context to understand.Â
Then the door of the office suddenly opened and a figure walked out. A man who appeared to be in his early forties. He had a Lanky, skinny frame and was dressed in a well–tailored suit. He stared at me and and so did I for a moment, before he continued walking away without saying anything. After a moment I then walked up to Louis door and rang the buzzer.Â
“Oh, Jasmine, you’re back,” he said a little surprised I entered.Â
I noticed Louis looked pissed. My mind went to the man I’d bumped into before I entered the office. I wanted to ask the details of the conversation but felt this wasn’t the time or place.Â
I handed Louis the documents, he accepted them and didn’t say anything to me which yold me I had been right to hold off asking him questions. I then left his office to return to mine where I finished off the rest of my work for the day.Â
When it was time for me to clock off I went to say goodbye to Louis, I wanted to check if his mood had improved before I left since I was a little worried. Upon entering his office I saw he was already dressed for the event.Â
“You look good,” I complimented him.Â
“Thank you,” he replied. He seemed calmer but I still sensed a bit of that anger.Â
I said goodbye to him as I had planned to and then left. I just hoped he and Keith wouldn’t bump into each other.Â

LOUIS‘ POVÂ
I sat in my office as I typed away at my desktop, my eyes were heavy and I was slightlyÂ
irritable.Â
I just wanted this Gatwick situation to be over with now. It had been 5 days since it all went down but it seemed the issues were growing day by day.Â
Whilst some of the victims were fine with the arrangement I had planned to give them some compensation as well as help their lawsuit against Gateick, sone others were not satisfied with that.Â
A lot of the parents of the victims were angry and threatening to sue the company as well, not just Gatwick. I never imagined Gatwick would end up making things this costly.Â
The telephone on my desk was ringing. I pressed the answer button.Â
“Sir, a representative of the Carrington Group is here.”Â
