104 Long time no see 

DIANA’S POV 1 

Classical music filled my ears as Keith and I made our rounds in the room of the fundraising event. Amongst the multiple people we had greeted I kept my eyes on high alert. 

I had been nervous all day as I waited for the time of the event. I hadn’t received any texts or messages so I wondered if ‘he‘ was going to talk to me tonight. 

Then he finally made an appearance. My heart began pounding so hard I almost thought it was going to burst out of my chest. He greeted Keith and I talked to us normally, I almost thought nothing was going to happen. However before he left us he then gave me a quick knowing glance. From that alone, I felt my blood freeze. He wanted to talk to me. 

Shit. I thought to myself. I knew I was in trouble but I wondered why. 

My gaze followed him as he walked away and went toward one of the exit doors of the 

room. 

“Keith, I have to use the bathroom,” I told him. 

“Sure, you’ll find me here,” Keith assured me. 

I followed the path of the man, exiting from the same exit doors. The building where the event was being held was an art museum. My eyes looked both ways of the semi–busy hallway and I caught him to my left turning into the next hallway. I quickly followed him down the hallway. 

We went through several hallways till we got one with no people moving around and I saw him enter a room. Looking around and making sure no one was nearby I then followed him into the room. 

The room was filled with covered painting on tripods. It was like an art storage room. 

As I walked deeper into the room I searched for ‘him‘ but couldn’t see him. After a moment the corner of my eye caught some movement. Before I could turn to look in that direction I suddenly felt a hand on my neck. Long, cold, slender fingers wrapped around the nape of my neck following the shape. A shiver went down my spine. 

“Diana,” a familiar deep gruff voice said. “Long time no see.”

104 Long time no see 

I turned around so I was facing him so he released my neck. I then greeted him back. 

“We have a problem, Diana,” he told me. 

He had a grave expression on his face. Did he mean the Jasmine situation. 

“I dont know where Jasmine is,” I told him. “She’s moved out of her house but I don’t know where she is.” 

“You’ve got bigger problems than just, Jasmine’s whereabouts,” He explained. 

My eyes widened. 

“Why am I not surprised that you’re completely unaware?” he said to me. 

“There are no thoughts behind those brown eyes of yours are there?” 

“I don’t know please tell me,” I asked him in spite of his insults toward me. 

“Keith has been snooping around. He’s looking into you. 

My eyebrows were raised in disbelief. Keith was what? 

“What do you mean he’s looking into me?” I asked 

“What else can it mean? He’s investigating you,” he explained. ” He’s been looking into Jasmine’s bank account statements. He’s been questioning the maids and servants that usec to work for her. I had to quickly fix things so he wouldn’t find anything out of the ordinary. I called the bank and bribe some people to help, I had to threaten all her former setvants sp they wouldn’t talk.” 

This was bad really bad. I had noticed his change in demeanor whenever he came back from seeing Jasmine but I didn’t think his suspicion had continued. I thought my stunt with my black eye had resolved the issue. Keith hadn’t been talking about Jasmine much since then. Neither had his behavior around me been too out of the ordinary. Except for that time when we slept together… Now that I think about maybe that time was a sign. 

However, this all would mean that Keith was 

“Its Jasmine she’s the one who-” I tried to explain. 

“I told you exactly what to do to get rid of her. The plan was working just fine, so where did you go wrong?” 

“I don’t know, Jasmine’s suddenly been acting different and Keith is,” I tried to explain

the root of Keith’s recent interest in Jasmine. 

“So why didn’t you talk to me first?” he asked. “The minute you felt something was off why didn’t you contact me?” 

“I thought I could handle the situation myself,” I told him. I didn’t 

“Well then then tell me how that worked out for you considering Keith has been avoiding coming home,” 

My face screwed up on confusion, wondering what he was referring to now. 

“Do you know what Keith had been up to lately?” he went on. 

My expression changed to one of horror. I was afraid to know. 

“Keith has gone or tried to see Jasmine twice the past week in fact he seems fixated on her I’m told by my sources,” he continued. 

My mouth was agape, taken aback by this information. Keith was fixated on Jasmine? 

“You had no idea did you?” he asked me. 

His sources were far more effective and efficient than mine since he was quite powerful after all. 

“No,” I simply answered. 

“You didn’t contact me because you wanted to avoid me, didn’t you? This is exactly why you’re in this situation,” he told me. 1 

I had no response as I looked at him. It was true. 

“You got so comfortable thinking Keith was already yours and everything was in the bag. How quickly you forget your place,” he said to me. “The reason you’re even by your precious Keith’s side is because of me. You know this, but then you have the audacity to get cocky? Don’t forget that you would have never seen Keith again after he left you to marry Jasmine had it not been for me. I found you in that sorry state you were in, took 

you in and offered you a deal. I can easily take it all away from you. Never forget the floor you walk on, is made of thin ice.” 

I swallowed hard knowing he was right.
