7 Where is he?Â
JASMINE’S POVÂ
As Louis closed the front door behind him. I stared at the door for a while. A sigh then escaped my mouth and I sank to the floor.Â
That boy, I thought to myself. The skin around my ear tingled when he whispered into it as he collected his jacket. I still couldn’t believe his confession.Â
He had been so straightforward and sure with his feelings. Meanwhile, I was coming toÂ
terms with the fact that I was attracted to him.Â
I never would have imagined I would ever be with anyone else aside from Keith and not only that but romantically as well.Â
I had never been in a genuine romantic relationship before. Keith was my first everything and it was also all platonic. I had kissed and slept with him many times before but it was very formal.Â
My fingers came up to my lips and I recalled when Louis‘ lips had been on mine. That kiss with him felt magical. Though, I wouldn’t deny that I was attracted to him I was also worried about many things if we did get together.Â
We were at very different stages in our lives. He was young and free.Â
Meanwhile, I was dealing with a lot at the moment. A single mother in the middle of a divorce together with a younger fresh–out–of–university guy; how would that work out? Not to mention the fact that Louis was going to get married to someone else in the near future. Would dating him be a wise decision?Â
‘Lets explore our connection. No pressure, we just see how we are. I recalled hisÂ
words to me. The idea didn’t seem unreasonable.Â
It’s not like we were getting married. We might decide not to proceed any further with the relationship in the end. So what was the harm in giving it a shot? I’d never dated anyone before and a part of me wanted to know what it was like.Â
I thought of young couples like Megan and Mike who got to date people they wanted to date. Something I never got experience in my youth. I too I wanted to be with someone of my own choosing.Â
If he ended up meeting the woman who became his wife and chose to be with herÂ

instead then that was fine. As I contemplated Louis‘ words I found myself entertainingÂ
the idea.Â
Later that night in my new bedroom I took out my journal and began to think of everything I had to do. I had to settle this divorce quickly and handle the situation with my father. Lastly, I wanted Tony to change schools. Although he had told me he didn’t mind staying there I wanted change his school for another reason.Â
Knowing that Diana was going to try to poison me and the fact that she had been behaving in unhinged ways lately made me nervous. Louis had given Tony his own bodyguards so if Diana tried to harm him they were going to be present. They dropped him off and picked him up from school every day.Â
For my peace of mind, I just wanted to put as much distance between Tony and me and Diana and Keith. If he continued to attend that school, because Marco attended, it meant we would bump into Diana and Keith often.Â
I would send him to another private school. When I worked as a waitress and wanted to transfer Tony, I could only afford send him to a public school with no security like a private school for the rich.Â
With this new job, I could send him to another private school where he’d be far fromÂ
Marco.Â
The following morning I woke up early to get ready for work and to prepare Louis for school. With no maid yet I had to prepare our breakfasts etc.Â
Though I had moved Louis and I had agreed that for Tony’s and my protection, we would keep the bodyguards and drivers he had assigned us. Which was so kind of him.Â
AndÂ
“Enjoy your day,” I told him then kissed him on the forehead. He then made to leave with his bodyguards. I waited for the door to close behind them.Â
“Mum, there are some flowers by the door,” Tony said from the door.Â
“Flowers?” I repeated, wondering what he was talking about.Â
“Here,” Tony said as he brought in a bouquet of red roses. What in the world? I thought to myself as Tony handed them to me.Â
“Who are they from?” he asked.Â

I read the small tag attached and it read; For someone beautiful. Your secret admirer. Though no name was given I knew the flowers were from Louis. It was his handwriting on the tag. I recognized it from work.Â
“Louis,” I told him.Â
“How nice of him,” he said and then rushed back out the door.Â
I scoffed. Louis had said no pressure and yet here he was having flowers delivered to me. I smiled as I smelled the roses. I looked at the other flowers he had brought as a housewarming gift the night before. I had put them in a vase by the kitchen.Â
I was a little sad not see Louis in the foyer of his apartment where we always used to meet up in the morning every day. I then took my bag and left my apartment.Â
When I arrived at the HQ I put my things down in my office and quickly made my way to Louis‘ office. We had to go through his schedule for the day.Â
His office door was open, and upon entering his office I found him seated at his desk on his desktop.Â
He heard the clicking of my heels and looked away from his computer to me. Upon recognising me a mischievous smile appeared on his face which almost made me do a double–take wondering what he was going to do next.Â
“Good morning, Ms Towers,” Louis greeted me with the widest smile and cheery tone.Â
“Good morning, Mr Carrington,” I greeted, mimicking his cheery tone.Â
“And how are you this fine morning?” he asked me.Â
“I’m fine and you?” I asked him.Â
“I’m feeling fantastic, anything interesting to share with me?”Â
I smiled at him wondering if he was referring to the roses he’d sent me.Â
“For you? Absolutely.” My smile widened as I stepped forward and then placed a copy of his schedule for the day in front of him at his desk.Â
He brought his hand to his face and leaned against it, whilst giving me an interested look.Â
“You have a meeting with the marketing department at 10:30 to discuss ways to attractÂ

new customers. Some documents need approval from the finance department…” I listed out the things he had to do today.Â
“How exciting,” he answered sarcastically.Â
After briefing him on his schedule for the day I collected some documents and returned to my office.Â
*****Â
The following day was Friday and I was so glad it was the weekend. I could start organizing everything in my new apartment. I found myself working with extra passion in anticipation of when I finally clocked off.Â
It was late in the afternoon with only about an hour remaining until I could clock off, when Louis entered my office.Â
“Came in to give you these documents,” he told me as he placed them on my desk and stood right next to me.Â
“You know you don’t have to come to my office yourself to deliver documents. You could’ve called for me or sent someone else,” I pointed out to him.Â
“Really? Hadn’t thought of that,” he simply answered as he smirked at me.Â
I rolled my eyes. It was obvious he just wanted to bother me.Â
I held my hand out to him and waved him off. “Now, shoo, I have work to do and so do you,” I told him.Â
He stared at my hand for a moment, before a cheeky expression appeared on his face. He then surprised me when he took my outstretched hand and began to kiss it. His lips parted and then he put my index finger inside his mouth.Â
My jaw dropped and my eyes widened as he proceeded to suck my finger.Â
“Louis, are you crazy! We’re at work!” I whispered/yelled at him. However, I didn’t remove my hand.Â
He ignored me as he continued sucking, his eyes giving me a seductive stare. Once he was done he released my hand.Â
“I need those papers finished before the end of the day,” he then suddenly said afterward, in a serious tone, as if nothing had happened.Â

My jaw remained agape as he casually walked out of my office like he hadn’t just done a madness.Â
Ever since he’d confessed to me he’s been bolder with his flirting. Couldn’t say I didn’t enjoy though, I thought to myself as my mouth went from wide open to smiling.Â
It took me couple of minutes as I thought about my interaction with Louis before I got back to work. Then the telephone at my desk suddenly rung.Â
I answered and Ms Deepak at the front desk who answered. “Ms Towers, there is a man waiting at the ground floor reception who wants to see you. He said his name isÂ
Darren.”Â
My eyes widened. Darren was one of Tony’s bodyguard. He should have collected Tony by now and be heading to the apartment. Why was he here?Â
“Let him come up,” I told Ms Deepak.Â
I quickly left my office and made my way to the front desk where she was.Â
When the elevator doors opened, Darren stepped out, however, Tony wasn’t beside him. Immediately I felt something was wrong.Â
“Darren what’s wrong? Where’s Tony?” I asked him.Â
“Ma’am, unfortunately there’s a problem,” he said.Â
My heart sank in my chest upon hearing this. “Was it a blonde woman who’s done this?” I asked my worst fear seemingly having come to life. Diana what have you done?!Â
“No ma’am, it’s the young master’s father…”Â
