DIANA’S POV 

I left the restaurant and ran. “Wait, Diana!” he called after me. I didn’t turn back to look at him and just continued running making my way back home. 

I ran all the way, and when I arrived and opened the door, I was met with an empty apartment. God knows where my mother was, she was barely ever home. 

I expected Keith to follow after me but he didn’t. Instead, he called me. I ignored the call and fell to the floor crying. 

I cried in utter shock and disbelief. Keith was getting married to someone else. It was supposed to be me that he chose to marry, 

He continuously tried to call me but I ignored them. He then resorted to sending me texts, however, he never came to my home. I was frustrated by this. The following day it was the same, he didn’t show up. 

Eventually, I picked up my phone and asked him why he wouldn’t. He told me that his father wouldn’t allow him. He said he had to be faithful to his new partner. 

‘His last message to me was: ‘I’m sorry that things had to turn out this way. But I have to cut all ties with you now, 

I literally threw my phone on the floor after reading it. Just like that, I had been dropped. 

Keith, why can’t you see that you were all I had? I have no family. My mother was never home my dad abandoned me after the divorce. I was hoping you would become my new family. Why couldn’t you fight harder for us! I said in annoyance, I didn’t see him again. He even stopped sending me money that he always used to send me every month given my circumstances, 

As the days passed, and days turned into months, Keith’s wedding soon came, I saw it online since I followed his social media. I bit my tongue as I looked at the photos. I just couldn’t believe he was moving on without me while here was, left to suffer. 

I thought I had secured my future. That I would live a life of luxury as the wife of a wealthy businessman. I didn’t go to university after graduating high school because of that. Now that he wasn’t sending me money, and my mother not caring for me. I had to

get an actual job now. I couldn’t believe I was going to remain lower class. 

In time, I managed to find a job as convenience store cashier. I began regretting not having used the money Keith gave to buy a new home instead of continuing to stay in the small apartment with my mother. The money wasn’t a lot, like a couple of thousand dollars but if I saved it up I could have got something useful or even asked him to purchase the home. 

Because I often stayed with Keith at his home I never thought it would be an issue. I wasted the money he gave me buying luxury things and services. The countless times I went to the spa or to buy new clothes was insane. 

Then one day everything changed…I was working a normal late evening shift at the convenience store. The store was was usually empty at this time only one customer was currently in. I casually read a magazine from behind the counter. 

“Hello Diana,” I heard the customer say as he placed two beers on the counter. 

“Hello,” I said as I looked up at the figure noticing his voice sounded familiar. 

“You?” I said in surprise. I recognized the man. It had been so long since I left Keith’s world. I never thought I would see anyone from that world again. Why would someone as wealthy as him be here shopping at an inconvenience store? 

He leaned on the check put table as he looked at me with a grin. 

“Have you come to laugh at me?” I asked him. 

“Not at allWhat if I said there was a way for you to get your precious Keith back?” 

“What?” I asked in disbelief. “What do you mean?” 

“Exactly that. You get to have your man back,” he confidently continued. 

“Hes married,“I pointed it out to him. 

“Well then, we’ll have to change that won’t we?” he said to me. “I would like to offer you 

a deal. It’ll take some time but I assure you in the end you’ll have him back….” 

My eyes widened as I stared at him. What was this man up to?

I was suddenly brought out of my thoughts as ‘he‘ groaned and thrust into me for a final time and came to completion.

Breathing heavily he then got off me and lay beside me on the bed. I looked up the ceiling feeling exhausted. I felt disgusted with myself every time we did this. I was betraying Keith but I had to do it. If I wanted to have Keith I had to do this. I had zoned out as he did his thing as I recollected how I got into this whole situation in the first place. 

We were staying in a home near the tennis fort/stadium he had rented out for this meeting but he had a another home in the city. I couldn’t be caught there however. It was too risky for me to go there. 

The tennis game I had been watching was still on. Once I received his text to go to him, I excused myself from my friends saying I wasn’t feeling well and rushed here with my bodyguards. 

After a moment he then got up from the bed and picked up his discarded clothes from the floor. Upon my arrival to the house I thought we would first talk but instead, he wanted to do it. 

“How are things going with Keith?” he then asked as he put on his trousers. However, he asked it in a tone as if he was already aware of the situation and was just waiting to see what I would tell him. 

I followed suit and got up from the bed to put on my clothes. 

“It’s as you said, he doesn’t fully trust me. He is still entertaining me but he also seems suspicious of me.” I started.“He wants joint custody with Jasmine’s child. 

“Well that’s not good,” he started as he finished buttoning up his shirt. “Marco has to become his heir we cannot let focus ever to her son.” 

“I know,” I agreed as I zipped up my dress. 

“The initial plan was the optimum solution. We alianate her from Keith by running her character making him turn away from her. They’ll get a divorce and her son is scrapped from becoming heir. She’ll be all alone, she has no family to support her. She’ll be easy to finish off.” he said. 

Yes, the plan in the end was to kill Jasmine. In order to keep Marco as heir 

“So what do we do about her?” I asked him. 

“This is your fault, you pushed it too far with antagonizing Jasmine,” he reprimanded. 

“I didn’t know she would form a relationship with the Carrington family,” I defended.

“Her family has long had a connection to the Carringtons she probably rekindled her relationship with them after your antics,” he said. 

“I didn’t know that,” I told him. 

“That doesn’t excuse the fact that you pushed it too far with your antics to torture her. If you hadn’t reduced her allowance and removed her maids then she wouldn’t wouldnt have looked for the Carringtons. I told you exactly how to ruin her image and I never said you should do that.” 

“I’m sorry,” I apologized. 

“No matter, a change of plans is inevitable now. Keith doesn’t seem to be turning his attention away from Jasmine any ti e soon. Trying to damage her character isn’t going to do anything now so it’s better if we fast–forward our plans a little bit. And get straight to the end goal now.” he said. 

My eyebrows raised up. Did he mean he wanted to kill Jasmine now? Instead of waiting until later? Immediately my eyes lit up with excitement. 

“Look how happy you look,” he started as he stared into my hopeful eyes. I wouldn’t lie Jasmine being gone would solve my problems because Keith couldn’t look her way 

anymore. 

“Unfortunately, it’s going to be a difficult,” task he told me. “With Jasmine in a more stable position now she’s obviously harder to target.” 

“Ideally, I would have wanted her to be isolated with no one to ever be suspicious of when we take care of her. Before, we finally take care of her son who would have lost the only protection he had. But since this is your fault you’ll have to do it yourself,” he said to me. “We’ll observe her from afar from now and wait until the perfect moment to 

strike.” 

“Okay,” I agreed with him. 

“In the meantime, you’ll have to continue locking Keith down and apply pressure to make him focus on you more,” he said. 

“What do you mean?” I asked him. 

He looked at me with a wicked grin on his face and looked down at my belly. I wondered what he had planned.
