139 Friend or foe?Â
“We can go together on Saturday,” Louis suggested. “It might be dangerous so I want toÂ
be there.” 1Â
“Okay, but I’ll need to sort out a baby sitter for Tony,” I said to him.Â
“He can stay at my place as he waits for us to return,” he suggested,Â
I glared at him. “Are you kidnapping us again, this weekend?” I asked.Â
He grinned at me. “Its my favorite thing to do he joked.Â
ANTHONY’S POVÂ
I was woken up early on Monday morning by my mother, to prepare for school as she did every day. I showered, put on my uniform, had breakfast with her and then I would leave our apartment with my two bodyguards who came to the apartment to pick me up every morning.Â
I couldn’t stop thinking about what happened on Friday. It was so strange that my Dad picked me up from school. For a long time since my mother and I had left his mansion I had wished to see him and spend time with him. And then as if my wish had come true he picked me up and spent time with him.Â
I had fun on Friday driving the go–karts and I was happy my wish came true but it made me realize I was already happy as I was without him. Life was a lot more fun these days with my mum and Louis. I was always looking forward to seeing them and spending time with them in weekends. I still loved my dad of course. He was my dad.Â
When I enter the school building as usual I’m met with a few stares but nothining I’m not already used to. My mum had told me she planned to have me transfered for the next semester. I guess I wouldn’t have to worry about the stares for long. I entered the classroom and waited for class to start.Â
At lunch break I met with Albert and we had lunch together in the cafeteria. Then we went to play at the playground. With Zeke and his friends taken care of, could freely play and move around. I would miss Albert a lot since I was moving schools.Â
“Hey, Tony it’s your brother again,” Albert said to me as played on the monkey bars.Â
I looked in the direction he was pointing and saw Marco walking past the playground as he stared at me.Â
139 Friend or foe?Â
We had talked to each other for the first time at the go–karting on Friday. We could talk freely because our mums were around at first. We had helped each other with our go–karts and how to drive them. I was definitely more curious about him after Friday.Â
The following day on Tuesday, I once again bumped into Marco in the school who stared at me curiously again as we walked past each other.Â
We didn’t say anything to each other.Â
It was on Thursday late in the afternoon that caught Marco at a water fountain drinking water.Â
It was currently study period. Typically during the afternoon after lessons it was time for sports activities but if you didn’t have a sport it was just study period for you. I didn’t a sport club on Thursday and I don’t think Marco could play sports because of his condition.Â
I know mum said I should not talk to him but I can’t help myself. I was curious aboutÂ
him.Â
He was always staring at me lately aswell, so I’m sure he wanted to talk to me too.Â
I slowly walked up to him. “Hey,” I greeted him.Â
He jumped up in surprise. He then slowly turned to face me. “Anthony?” he said in a surprise.Â
“Yeah,” I replied.Â
For moment we just stared at each other. This is awkward I thought to myself as I wondered what I should say next to him. My eyes darted around for a moment.Â
“I had fun on Friday driving the go–karts with you,” I said to him.Â
“So did I you’re a really good driver,” he complimented me.Â
“Really!? Thanks I was trying to drive like Milos the best fl racer,” I said mentioning myÂ
favorite racer.Â
“I think Luka is a better driver,” he then replied in a low voice.Â
“Luka! Absolutely not! His driving is way too shaky, Milo controls his car really well,”Â
“But Milos cheats in his races,” Marco then said.Â
“That’s not true that’s just what they say to make him seem like a bad person!” I defended Milos as if my life depended on it.Â

And just like that we struck up a conversation. We talked about racing and f1 for the rest of study time.Â
“Oh that’s the bell,” he then said.Â
“Yeah we should go,” I agreed.Â
“You know my mum says I shouldn’t talk to you,” he informed me.Â
“My mum also said I shouldn’t talk to you,” I saidÂ
We started at each for a moment and then laughed together.Â
“I guess I’ll see you around Anthony,” he said.Â
“You can call me Tony,” I told him.Â
He then smiled at me. “Okay see you around, Tony.”Â
“Bye Marco,” I said.Â
I then returned to the classroom packed my bag up and made my way to the school building exit where I found my driver and bodyguards waiting for me. I looked around to see if i would find Marco headed towards his car but I couldn’t see him. There were just too many other students in the pick–up area it would be difficult to spot him.Â
I arrived home, earlier than my mother as usual, and removed my uniform, washed up and got started on my homework.Â
When she arrived I talked to her for a bit before she went to get dinner started and I went to finish off my homework in my room.Â
When dinner was ready I went to the dinning room where I found Louis was at our apartment.Â
The two of them seemed really close. Closer than mum ever was with Dad. I don’t remember my mother ever spending this much time with him She was always smiling and laughing when he was around. My suspicion is that they are a couple. I don’t mind because I really like Louis and if he made mum happy then I was happy.Â
After dinner we talked and watched TV for a bit together. Then they took me to bed.Â
“Goodnight mum, goodnight Louis,” I then said to them.Â
A thought then came to mind and I wondered what my mother would think.Â
“Mum?” I then saidÂ
“Yes?” she said and then waited for me to speak.Â
