PREVIOUS CHAPTER HAS BEEN FIXED 1

Sir there is something that needs immediate attention concerning the new menu launch today,Marketing manager said.

After Louis left the office I remained going through the Diana files as I waited for him

to return.

The three new menus were being launched today. Since the meeting with the head chefs on Tuesday we had done so much work to get the menus prepared for launch by Friday, which was today. Organising the change in stock for the kitchen pantries, planning how to market for the new menus. It has been a very busy three days. I just hoped this would all succeed in the end.

I continued checking the documents when a notification sounded. It was Louisphone which was close to me on his desk.

My eyes glanced down at it as the. I knew it was rude to look through someone’s but it was right in front of me I couldn’t help it.

It was an email I didn’t recognise the person

Dear Young Master Carrington,

This is serious, you cannot continue to ignore this issue Mrs Acland must….

I couldn’t read any further because the phone had to be unlocked first.

My eyes narrowed and my eyebrows furrowed as read the only part of the message I could read once more. Then they widened as I processed the fact that I was the Mrs Acland that was being talked about.

Mrs Acland must what?I wondered what they wanted me to do. I wished I knew Louispassword. Clearly this was a message from the Carrington HQ. Did his family have a problem with me? The email mentioned he was ignoring them. Perhaps they had a problem with the fact that Louis had employed me and the rumors floating around that we were dating.

I couldn’t bring myself to focus as continued trying to go through the documents.

When Louis returned to the office about 20 minutes later I straightened up and tried not to seem suspicious.

There was a mix up with one of the restaurants menu’s but we resolved the issue,” he

explained.

Okay,I replied.

We’ll have to carry on with the Diana matter later when we get home, we have more work to do, unfortunately,” he said. He then sat back down at his desk.

Sure,I said then began one documents.

He picked up his phone on the desk and began going through it. My heart leapt in my chest as I wondered if he was going to read the email.

I tried to appear nonchalant as I watched him from the corner of my eye and organised the documents to put them away. His eyes seemed to focus on something as he looked at it. Was he reading the email I thought to myself? Even if he wasn’t it was the first notification on his phone. He must have glanced at the message at the very least.

Moments later he put his phone down and helped me organize his desk. He had an unfazed facial expression as he worked with me.

Why isn’t he saying anything about it? He was being so casual and nonchalant.

Should I ask him about it? No, I wanted him to trust me and tell me on his own. The

message insinuated that he typically ignored emails they sent to him about this. So clearly this issue had persisted for a while. Yet he hadn’t told me about itWhy?

He would tell me if it was an issue, right? I’m sure he would. In any case, I just hoped I wasn’t causing Louis any problems with his family.

We’re going to have to write a report to send the Carrington HQ on the new menu we’ve launched,he told me.

Very well,I said as I took my notebook and jotted down on my to do list.

Were also going to have to make changes to the mix up at one of the branches,Louis continued. And then get ready to document which dishes are the most successful for when we come up with the final menu for all the restaurants.”

I finished writing it all down and then turned to him.

What do you think the Carrington HQ will think of the new menu idea in general?I

asked him.

I don’t know, but they don’t care much about the business since they expect it to fail so I’m assuming they won’t care about the idea,he said dismissively.

Mmhmm,I said. We then discussed the tasks I was to do and then left his office to do

them. However, as i worked I just continued to think about that email I had read. How was this going to turn out in the end? I though to myself. I guess I would have to wait

and see.

Later as we made our way home to my apartment after work, Louis spoke up.

Hey, I don’t know if you herd,” he started. Immediately my head came off the window I had been leaning against as I turned to look at him. At first I thought he was finally going to bring up the email from earlier.

31

but apparently your brother Lawrence is going to take your fathers shares in the company, giving him full ownership of the company. All this time, despite your brother being the CEO of the company your father still had the majority shares and owned less than 30 of shares. Which is ridiculous if you ask me.Louis told me instead.

I was disappointed it wasn’t about the email but what he told me was equally as interesting. My eyebrows raised in surprise. Really?I asked him.

Yeah, people are wondering why your father has only now suddenly decided to give him ALL of them.”

I contemplated for a moment what he had told me and then I scoffed in realisation.

I think I might know why,I said to Louis.

When we arrived at my apartment I did the usual routine of greeting Tony, Louis and I then made dinner, the three of us ate and then we cleaned up.
