“So are we in agreement Mr Kylind?” I asked the CEO, in his carly forties, as I sat across from him at his desk in his office. 

“Yes, the arrangement can work, it sounds like a good idea,” he told me. 

“Pleased to hear that,” I replied as I got up from my seat, wrapping up our meeting. 

“Pleasure doing business with you Mr Carrington,” he said to me. 

“The pleasure is all mine, Mr Klyne,” I said with a wide smile. He then escorted me to the door of his office After shaking out hands goodbye, I made my way to my car with my bodyguards close behind me. 

I had just secured a deal with one of the company’s ingredient suppliers for our restaurants. Found a way to get a discount on our ingredient orders but they too would benefit.” 

I felt excited about the future of the restaurant with this new menu idea we had introduced. Could it actually be saved without having to change the pathetic budget it 

had? 

My family was prepared to make a small loss over the restaurant but Jasmine had just

quite possibly found a solution to saving it. The restaurant will generate profits whilst 

keeping costs low but the quality of our product will be high. 

The results though still in their infancy were looking promising. If the momentum continues looks like it was going to make a steady comeback. 

I had never considered that a different strategy could be used. Thinking about it now it seemed so simple and obvious but

My eyes squinted. It was lunch hour and if I went back to the office Jasmine would probably be there. She was passing through all the restaurants in the city and checking on them.

20 minutes later I arrived at the Carrington restaurant that Malek and I had chosen. Malek was standing outside the restaurant near his car 

“Ah my meal card is here,” he said as I walked towards him. 

I clicked my tongue in annoyance. “When are you going back?” I complained giving him a side eye. 

“You already want me gone?” he asked me in a joking ‘sad‘ voice. “I’ll be here for another week, unfortunately. I have to finish off some business for the winery and I have to visit my grandmother who lives here.” 

“Yeah, yeah,” I said waving him off. 

We went inside and sat down to have our meal. After taking our orders Makek them 

looked at me. 

“So-” he started and from his tone I knew he was going to bring up the reason he’d brought me for lunch. I had a feeling I already knew what he wanted to say. 

“You are dating Jasmine Acland?” Malek said to me. As in the woman who married Keith Acland? And has a child with him. The woman who has rumors for being a mad woman who is obsessed with her husband home abandoned her ?” 

I knew he was going to ask about Jasmine. Whilst he was still out if the city I hadn’t given too much information on my relationship with Jasmine. Just told I now had a

told him. 

What the hell happened has been going on since I left?” he continued. “I never imagined you’d be the type to go for a married woman.” 

I rolled my eyes as he continued. “Shes getting a divorce and he already has a lover that everyone knows well,” I told him. “And secondly she’s not a mad woman.” 

A playful smile appeared on his face. “I came to that conclusion as well when I met her in person. She looked she didn’t even care about where the chairman was. Her focus was mainly on you the whole time, I was thinking what are these rumors she’s obsessed with the chairman. You should have seen the fuck me eyes she was giving you throughout the dinner.” 

“Malek, what are you talking about?” I said in annoyance. 

“You know, she kind of looks like your ex from back in university,” he then pointed out to me and then his eyes narrowed at me in suspicion. “Wait, is she the girl you said was 

your 

childhood crush?” 

My eyes widened in surprise at the fact that he knew about that. 

Malek laughed again. “Good for you, looks you got her in the end didn’t you?” he commented. 

“Jokes aside, Chairman Acland is trying to sabotage our relationship ” I then told him. 

“Really?” Malek said as his expression got serious. 

“Jasmine’s filed for a contested divorce and he’s trying to file for joint custody and he’s telling my family that I should leave her.” 

All those emails I had received from Robert and his assistant Vincent. 

Malek whistled. “Messy,” he said. “Sounds like classic bruised ego thinking. Chairman Acland, thinks he can move on with his own lover but how dare his wife do the same.” 

“I’m trying to understand does he want both women or not? I mean he’s not leaving his lover whilst doing all this.” I replied. 

“Its probably just a control thing. He wants to keep her under his thumb despite him having a lover,” Malek explained.
