She was now wearing a patient gown, her work suit had been removed. Her face and torso had been fully cleaned of the powder. The paramedics had tried to clean it as best as they could after collecting samples for the doctors to test. 1Â
As my eyes scanned her body, I took in her injuries. Most noticeable was her leg which was in a cast and wrapped up. There were bandages on her arms that covered bruises. The injuries were consistent with those obtained from a fight. My heart sank in my chest at the thought of Jasmine fighting for her life.Â
Who had Diana sent to do this to you? I asked as my hand caressed her hair.Â
I then noticed that there were some red marks on her exposed neck. Before the collar of her blouse work suit had covered her neck and in a patient gown it was exposed. At first, I was worried there were more bruises and so I moved some of her hair, which was in the way, to closely inspect them.Â
My eyes darkened as I took them in, realizing they weren’t bruises. They were hickeys…Â
One of my bodyguards then suddenly entered the room.Â
“Sir, there’s a man who wants to see, Mrs Acland,” he informed me. “He’s causing aÂ
scene outside.”Â
“Who is he?” I asked, but I already knew who it was.Â
“He says he is Louis Carrington, sir,” he said.Â
Just as I suspected I thought to myself. I suppose it would be best for me to handle theÂ
situation.Â
I left the room where I heard someone yelling a short distance away.Â
“Let me see her!” I heard an annoying familiar voice say. I turned to look and found Louis trying to charge past my guards to see Jasmine.Â
My eyes narrowed as I stared at him.Â
“Keith!” he yelled out angrily his golden eyes meeting mine.Â

My meeting finished a bit late. I was supposed to join Jasmine and Tony over an hour ago at the Cleaveland distribution, I thought to myself as I got into my car. The driver began making their way to the distribution center.Â
I took out my phone from my suit jacket pocket and decided to call Jasmine to see how far she was with the meeting or already. I tried to but it cut immediately saying she was on another call. I didn’t think anything of it.Â
I was on my way anyway so I would talk to her when I got there. Upon arriving at the food center I was surprised when I found a small group of police cars in the area. My expression immediately dropped as I wondered what was happening.Â
“What happened here?” I uttered to myself as the car took a random parking spot near the building.Â
Exiting the car, I went towards the main entrance where I found the managing director, Mr Tindsor, talking to the police. As I approached he turned toward me. “Ah, Mr Carrington you have arrived,” the manager greeted me as he turned toward me. “Mr Tindsor what happened?” I asked wondering what all the police were doing here. “It appears your executive assistant was involved in an altercation in the underground parking garage. I’m so sorry that this happened,” he apologized.Â
My eyes widened in surprise. “Altercation-?” I repeated in confusion.Â
“Yes, she was attacked by unknown assailants,” he said in a very sympathetic voice. “I apologize but I was not in the situation until long after it had already occurred. The cameras in the underground parking had been tampered with.Â
“Is–is she alright?” The question left in a stutter. I wasn’t sure how to process this information which threw me down a whirlwind. It felt like my body was in shock. What I thought had simply been Jasmine innocently not being able to answer the phone, turned into who was she on the call with before? Was that when she was being attacked?Â
“She was unconscious when she was found by her husband who came here,” he said. Husband!? I thought in horror…Keith?! “Chairman Acland?” I asked.Â
“Yes,” Tindsor responded.Â
The answer only made me have more questions rather than answers. “Sorry, if it’s oddÂ

of me to ask this, but did you by any chance call Mr Acland to come for his wife?” IÂ
asked.Â
“Oh no, he came on his own looking for his wife,” he explained. “I had no idea she was even married Chairman Acland since she uses her maiden name.”Â
My eyebrows furrowed wondering how Keith had known to find Jasmine here. How had he known there was an altercation?Â
“And how is her son?” I asked. I knew Jasmine had told me she was going to pick upÂ
TonyÂ
“Son?” he asked in confusion.Â
“Yes, a little boy who’s around 9 years old and has the same hair and eye color of Ma Towers,” I further described.Â
Tondsor shook his head. “I’m sorry, Mr Carrington but I didn’t see him but perhaps he was already found and put in the ambulance.”Â
I internally sighed. I hoped Tony was alright as well.Â
“Where are Ms Towers and all her bodyguards now?,” I then asked Mr Tindsor.Â
“They were taken to the nearest hospital in ambulance, her husband went with her,” he informed me. Violet hill hospital.”Â
“Alright,” I responded. After exchanging our goodbyes I quickly left the place. I had a feeling that these unknown assailants had something to do with Diana’s sponsor. They must have orchestrated this. What I couldn’t understand was how they had done it. Jasmine had four of her own bodyguards and then together with Tony’s that was 8 bodyguards. This sponsor was able to get through all that somehow injure Jasmine… and possibly Tony.Â
Upon arriving at the hospital I rushed inside. Jasmine was the only thing on my mind. I just hoped she was alright.Â
“I’m here looking for a group people that came from Cleaver food distribution about an hour or two ago. They came in unconscious and they work for me—” I told him.Â
