204 Secluded water fall 

I was met with him pointing a gun at me. My eyes widened in horror as an amused grin was on his. 

My eyes went from his face to the gun in his hand, processing the situation. 

“…why?” was all I could muster to ask, my voice quivering. 

“Unfortunately for you, you’ve served your purpose and are useless to me now,” he said coldly. 

My body began to tremble, my mouth went dry and I found it hard to swallow. The reality of my situation hit me like a truck. He never wanted to talk to me… Should have suspected it when he took me to a remote park/waterfall. 

He pointed his head toward the falls. “Head towards the edge now,” he instructed me. “Wait! Wait!” I begged. “Please I’ll do whatever you want. Just please don’t kill me!” “I want you dead. That’s what I want,” he said coldly. 

He began walking into me, forcing me to wa toward the cliff that overlooked the waterfall. I look at the gun he held as I slowly began to walk back. My heart hamerring in my chest. I had get away from him. My hands quickly reached forward to grab the gun but he quickly caught me. He bashed me in the head with the base of the gun and I screamed. 

“Don’t be stupid. I’ve already had enough to deal with today, after Jasmine so don’t piss me off,” he spat out as he shoved me back and I almost fell. “Keep going.” he instructed

My legs continued walking backward. 

“I gave you the easiest plan and path to Keith. It should have been foolproof–and yet somehow you failed,” he said to me. 

“I don’t know what Jasmine did but she was very manipulative and got him interested in her,” I tried to explain. 

“Excuses Diana,” he told me unconvinced. “Had you actually done your part well none of this would have happened. 

“But it’s her working with one of the Carrington family’s that this happened. I couldn’t

gave predicted she had connections with someone. I thought she was alone and had no one else to rely on,” I continued. 

“It was your idea to take your pranks on Jasmine too far. Had you not reduced her allowance that much she wouldn’t have had to take a job at the Carrington restaurant in the first place. Ever since her union with him everything has gone to shit.” he told

I bit my lip in frustration. How was I supposed to know she would get a job as a waitress? As a socialite I thought she would have pride and never take on a manual job like that! 

I then suddenly felt my foot step on something unstable. I looked behind me and saw I had reached the edge. Trembling I looked back at him as he stared at me. 

“What about Marco I’m his mother?” I tried to convince him. “I can’t leave him behind.” 

He scoffed. “Please, we both know you hate that child. I’ve seen you beat him up and so have the servants,” he said. 

I hated Marco only because I wished he was Keith’s son. 

“I can be a better mother if that’s what you want,” the words desperately left my mouth. “We can be a proper family too.” 

“Don’t make me laugh. Maybe if you actually loved me I might have believed you,” he said dismissively to me. “And I never cared how you treated him as long as you gave me what I wanted.” 

“What are you going to do to him?” I asked him. 

“Stop acting like you give a shit,” he continued. 

“I won’t tell anyone anything please,” I was just saying anything now. 

He laughed out loud at that. 

“Oh, and one last thing, I didn’t kill Jasmine,” he told me. 

My eyes widened even more at this. 

“What?” I asked taken aback by this information. “But you said-” that he had lied to

“Keith is with her right now. They are probably going to rekindle their relationship,” he told me.

No–no that was the last thing I wanted to hear. That couldn’t happen. 

The realization that he had lied to me about killing Jasmine on the call a week ago sank in. He hadn’t told me anything about his change of plan in the past week intentinally I 

realized. 

The minute my head maid told me he wanted us to return I should have been suspicious and thought of a way to escape. My purpose in this arrangement was to be with Keith. It’s just I had become so used to relying on him and his instructions he had never let me down. 

My eyes could barely see his face and cold, cruel brown–gold eyes that glowed in the light. My voice hitched in my throat and I began to cry. This couldn’t be happening. It couldn’t end like this. Just when I thought I was going to have the happy ending I deserved, everything suddenly came crashing down before I could even process it. 

After, 9 years of planning and dedicating myself to Keith this couldn’t be happening. A loud cry escaped my mouth. 

Shh, shh,” he tried to reassure me as he brought his free rough, thick hand went to my face and wiped at my tears. What a cruel thing to do, I thought to myself. 

I cried and he let me for a moment. 

“Please…” was the last thing I whispered before I heard a loud bang. The rushing waters covered it up of course. Birds in the area shot up at the sound. My head slowly looked down at my chest which began to turn red. He’d got me right in the heart. “Goodbye Diana,” was the last thing he said to me before he pushed me back and let me go. I fell off the edge the waters from the falls surrounding me. As my eyes slowly closed the last thing I felt was hitting the cold water of the river below. 1
