205 Waking up in a strange homeÂ
JASMINE’S POVÂ
Tony ran ahead just in front of me. I was running, running as fast as I could, after him and trying to take Tony’s hand!Â
Tony cone here” I called out to him trying to reach him. However, no matter how fast I ran I could never get close enough to him.Â
**Â
“Tony!” I said and woke up with a start. My head was aching as if I had a hangover. A groan escaped my mouth as a dizzying throbbing sensation in my head came over me.Â
“Mrs Acland! You’re awake!” an unfamiliar female voice said.Â
I looked toward the voice and found a woman in the room with me.Â
“Who? Who are you?” I asked the pretty woman who appeared to be in her late thirties. She was dressed in a nurse’s uniform.Â
“My name is Anne I’m the nurse that’s been assigned to you as you recover Mrs Acland,” she started.Â
“Where’s my son? I asked her.Â
“I don’t know where your son is, you’ll have to ask Mr Acland,” she answered.Â
My eyes glanced around the unfamiliar room suddenly my memories of what I last remembered came to mind. The meeting I went to, the attack in the underground parking and lastly Tony being taken.Â
“Tony…” I said his nameÂ
“How long have I been asleep?” I asked her.Â
“About a week, Mrs Acland,” she settled to call me ma’am call me Jasmine.Â
“Mrs Acland?” I repeated wondering why she kept calling me that. “My name isÂ
Jasmime, call me that.Â
“Where am I?” I asked her about the unfamiliar room. This looked like a bedrrom and not a hospital room.Â

“You and your husband brought you to you home,” she replied.Â
“Husband?” my eyes widened. “Im sorry, what!?” I asked.Â
“Yes, your husband, Mr. Acland found you injured in a building brought you here,” she explained as she looked at me as wondering why I didn’t know what should be basic things about my life.Â
However, I ignored her reaction. Keith had been the one to find me? I thought to myself. I would have thought it would Louis who found me since he had to meet with me at the distribution center. I recalled my phone had rang during my fight with Tony’s kidnapper and my assailant. He had picked up the call and placed my phone on my laps before I passed out. Had it been Keith on the call?Â
In any case after a week why was I still with him? My eyes looked around the room again. I hadn’t been to Keith’s estate since I was kicked out in my past life but I knew it didn’t look like this. The color scheme was all wrong I need to get up.Â
I looked at my bedside table searching for my phone. It wasn’t there. I had to contact Louis.Â
“Do you know where my phone is?‘ I asked Anne.Â
“Perhaps you can ask Mr Acland, but no one is allowed to have their phones on the premise,” she explained.Â
As in?” I asked her to explain.Â
“As in when I clock in I hand my phone and we get them back when we leave. Mr Acland is doing it as a protective measure.Â
I need to contact Louis. I need to find Tony. I got up from the bed.Â
“Where is Mr Acland?” I asked her as I made stand up. Judging from the windows it was early evening. Keith shouldÂ
“Ma’am be careful, your foot,” she warned as she drew closer to me. I felt it as soon as my foot touched the floor. A sharp pain in my foot which was in a cast. I recalled when I had badly landed on my former injured ankle when my assailant kicked me down theÂ
stairs.Â
“I’ll take you to him,” she told me. “I’m supposed to inform him when you wake up anyway.”Â
She brought a wheelchair that was in the corner of the room to me.Â

“Dont worry I can walk,” I told her. Though I was in pain I could actually walk but at aÂ
slow pace.Â
“I cannot allow you to do that the less pressure you out on your foot the better it heals,” she told me.Â
Reluctantly I did as she said and sat in the wheel chair.Â
Nurse Anne helped me to a lounge. As we moved around the home my eyes curiously looked around Keith’s estate.Â

Unlike Keith’s estate which looked like a classic duke’s manor a house with history passed down four generations already. I wondered why we were here. Whilst I could ask the nurse it would be easier if I just asked Keith himself.Â
“Sir, Mrs Acland is awake,” she announced to him.Â
I found Jeith seated on a couch in the seating area. He wore simple black trousers and a shirt with a few buttons undone. His head was facing up at the ceiling, his eyes were closed as if tired. Upon Anne and I entering the room his head perked up.Â
“Jasmine, you’re awake,” he said and something in his eyes lit up. “Nurse Anne why didn’t you tell me she was awake, I would have come to see her myself. She’s injured.”Â
“I was going to sir, but she insisted to come along,” she tried to explain worriedly.Â
“Keith, I woke up just now. I’m the one who insisted,” I told him as the nurse helped me to sit down on the couch opposite him.Â
The nurse then left and my eyes went back to Keith. He looked tired. Like he hadn’tÂ
slept in ages.Â
“How are you feeling?” he asked me.Â
“Awful, and you?” I replied.Â
“Same,” he answered.Â
“What happened to me?” I asked him.Â
“You were poisoned, by a powder chemical substance it put you and your bodyguards in a mini coma,” he explained.Â
“I heard you were the one who saved me did you know where to find me?”Â
“Diana told me there was a ploy to kill you and so I rushed to find you,” he explained.Â

And why are we here what happened to your estate?” I asked him.Â
“Diana, and her servants used explosives to destroy Marco’s room to destroy any biological evidence and ran away from the estate,” he told me. “I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to test him before that.”Â
My eyes widened in surprise the mansion had been blown up?Â
Keith explained everything that had happened with Diana after the trial and then filled in me in on his ongoing search for Tony.Â
Now the precautions he had put in place were starting to make sense. I was glad Keith was finally aware of the situation in its entirety.Â
