209 She won’t pick up 

LOUIS POVO 

“One of the bodyguards has woken up,” the side informed me. 

“I’ll meet with him tonight I announced. 

As soon as my work shift ended I went straight to the hospital and towards the rooms 

where 

I glanced in the direction Jasmine’s room had been, as I made my way. 

Upon entering the room I was met with the bodyguard, Leon, seated up in the hospital bed. He was talking to his wife and child who sat beside the bed. They looked at me as I 

entered. 

“I’ll see you in a bit honey,” Leo said to his wife. They then left the room so I could talk 

to him. 

“Are you alright, Leon?” I asked the bodyguard as I sat in the seat his wife had sat in. 

“Yes, just a little sore from my injuries he told me. 

“I apologize for failing to protect Ms. Towers, sir,” he said to me. 

“I don’t blame you for that,” I said to him this assailant was an unknown force with unpredictable power. “Have you talked to the police?” 

“Yes, earlier this afternoon” he told me. 

“Now, tell me what happened in that underground parking lot?” I asked him. 

“We parked the car in there and as we made our way to the elevator we were suddenly ambushed by a group of masked men in all black.” 

He then went on to explain everything that all the bodyguards did to protect Jasmine and Tony. 

“…By the end of it, I was one of the last lines of defence for Ms. Towers and her son. We told her to find help by going up an emergency staircase. Unfortunately, I became powerless when they sprayed us with that poison powder. I fell to the floor and one of the men went up the emergency stairs Jasmie 

The last thing I remember seeing was the masked man exiting the emergency staircase

with the boy over his shoulders as he left the scene. 

This confirmed that they had in fact taken Tony. I internally let out a sigh. This whole ambush seemed well planned ahead of time. They were aware of Jasmine’s movements, they sabotaged the cameras, when they ambushed them they made sure to split the bodyguards up so they could attack them in smaller groups before finally isolating Jasmine and Tony. 

I had been wondering all this time whether, had I been there with Jasmine could have prevented Tony from being taken? I wasn’t so sure now. It seems like they would have found a way regardless. 

“Did you see any of their faces? What vehicle did they come in? Anything at all that could be useful?” I asked. 

“No, they were all wearing masks and there’s unfortunately nothing I can think of,” he replied. 

“I see…” I replied in disappointment. I talked to him for a little bit discussing his leave as I allowed his time to recover. 

Tony…. Where are you? I wondered as I left the hospital a short while later. 

In the next two days, 3 more bodyguards woke up. I went to check up on them and question them hoping they might have the revealing details I so desperately needed. 

Jasmine should be waking up soon I thought to myself. Or perhaps she had woken up already? I’m sure she would have contacted me already. 

I continued looking into the ambush hoping to find something. I checked with the distribution center to see if the cameras caught anything before they were sabotaged and for any suspicious vehicles. I was also going to get any intel on Jasmine and Keith 

at his new mansion. 

The following day I tried Jasmine’s number after work when I returned home. I was on one of my apartment balconies. I paced around Hoping she would answer. However, within a few seconds, the call already switched off. It said the number was not available. 

My eyes narrowed as I looked down at my phone. Keith had switched off her phone I wondered. 

Perhaps I’m just overreacting. It had only been just over a week the doctor did say they

might wake up a few days late so it was entirely possible that she would wake up a little late. I had to wait. 

I thought perhaps I should text or call to ask how she was doing. However, I knew that bastard probably wouldn’t answer. Nonetheless, I sent him an email asking about her. His email was the only contact detail I had of him after asking my aides for it. I didn’t trust the fact that Keith had her but I didn’t want to panic just yet. At the very least I knew Keith had feelings for her so he wouldn’t physically harm her but still… 

I looked down at the city below. Tony was supposed to be on summer break now and Jasmine, he, and I were supposed to plan a vacation. Now all this had happened.

ANTHONY’S POV 

My eyes slowly opened. I felt like I had been in a deep slumber for ages. 

“Mm..mh…mm,” I murmured, and my eyes glanced around the unfamiliar room. 

“Where am I?” I asked myself. I tried to recall the last thing that happened to me Suddenly what happened to my mother and me. We were attacked by some strange men in masks. I remembered my mum and I was climbing up some stairs and then she told me to continue going up when one of the attackers was close. I didn’t listen to her and came back when I saw she was in trouble. The man caught me put that weird cloth with a strange and horrible smell over my mouth and nose and then everything went black. 

What happened afterward? How did I end up here? Where was my mother now? 

“Mum,” I then said. She was badly injured and not moving. What was that white powder stuff on her face? 

“Oh, you’re awake now,” I heard a familiar voice say. 

Surprised I scanned the room and found a small boy coming toward me I hadn’t. With the bright light coming through the windows of the room I didn’t see his face properly till he was next to me.
