218 What is he doing to her 

LOUIS‘ POV 

Keith is it you? I thought to myself. It must be him. Jasmine wouldn’t cut my call and wouldn’t ignore it either. Not without explaining at least. 

Then just for confirmation, I called again. This time the call immediately didn’t go through. A voice sounded saying the caller is unavailable. Like her phone had been turned off or something. I scoffed as I put my phone in my pocket. I then continued pacing, 

I did not doubt that Keith was involved. I had sent him an email the other day and he still hadn’t responded. I imagine he saw it and completely ignored it. I couldn’t believe he didn’t so much as want me to just know she was fine. He wanted me out of Jasmine’s life completely. 1 

I bit my lip as I contemplated what to do. Is it that Jasmine was awake and Keith was keeping her from contacting me? Or was it that Jasmine was still unconscious? It had been over a week now; however, she had to be awake, or something was wrong. 

I had instructed my men to keep an eye on Jasmine and find out what they could. So far, they hadn’t found much since Keith was keeping so much under wraps. They found him moving around, but not with Jasmine. 

In the last few months, Jasmine had become independent, stood up to Keith, and actively worked to get sole custody of Tony. There was no way Jasmine wouldn’t stand up to Keith and tell him to piss off unless he was doing something to hold her. The thought gave me anxiety. 

If Keith was holding Jasmine against her will, I wouldn’t let him get away with it. I could file for a welfare check on his estate to ensure she was fine and was released. 

I recalled when I first reconnected with Jasmine and found her in a pitiful state, suffering at his hands. I couldn’t let that happen again.

It was three days later when my men gave me an update on the situation. It was after work, and I was at home in my bedroom and was about to change out of my suit when someone knocked at the door.

I called for them to enter, and one of my aides came in. In his hands was a folder. 

“Sir, we have an update on Chairman Acland. He filed for a conservatorship over Ms. Towers,” the man informed me as he handed me the folder. 

My eyes widened in horror. “A conservatorship?” I asked as I opened the report with the details. 

“Yes, sir,” the aide confirmed. 

After reading through the details for several moments, I was at a loss for words. He had complete control of her life as he acted as her guardian. 

Of course, you would do something like this, Keith. I thought to myself. You never fight fair. I had a feeling he would try something ever since our fight at the hospital. The minute he started saying ‘my wife, I had an eerie feeling. He got to her first after her attack. I wasn’t surprised he took advantage of that. 

However, the details in the report were utterly shocking. He controlled absolutely every aspect. He was heavily leaning into the fact that she was injured and that her life was in danger from Diana’s sponsor. 

In the last weeks, Keith has been pulling trick after trick, trying to get closer to Jasmine. Collecting Tony from school suddenly. Wanting to be around Jasmine. That instantly told me he wasn’t done with Jasmine. All while having a mistress! The entitlement and audacity were unbelievable. 

What did he think was going to happen by doing this? Did he think Jasmine was going to magically fall in love with him if he kept her close? Or perhaps he didn’t care and just wanted control and keep her captive. 

She was awake at the very least, I thought to myself. I could be relieved about that. What I was trying to understand was how he was preventing her from communicating with me. Did he take away her phone, or was my number blocked? 

My men hadn’t seen her moving around with Keith, so she was hidden at his new estate for now. I knew she had a broken leg, so she was going to have to stay indoors for a bit. 

If I went to his estate to try to see Jasmine, I knew he would refuse me and say I was trespassing. 

Keith had planned this all out so strategically, and legally, he knew what he was doing.

“Find out all the details you can about this conservatorship. See if there are any loopholes, anything we can do, and also call my lawyer,” I requested the aide. 

“Yes, sir,” he accepted the request. He then left the room. 

Alone in my bedroom again, I went to the dressing room as I thought of Jasmine. With him having the law on his side and being able to keep her by his I felt uneasy. What was he doing to her? 

I looked at Jasmine’s things that were in my dressing room. I picked one of her blouse tops. I brought it up to my nose and sniffed it; her signature perfume still lingered. 

The silence and emptiness in my apartment were killing me. I needed Jasmine and Tony back.

The following day, I expectantly waited for updates from my aides and bodyguards as I worked in my office. The telephone at my desk rang and I picked i answered. It was Ms. Deepak who informed me that my brother Roberts assistant was here to see me. 

“How can I help you?” I asked him. 

“Young Master Carrington, your father has requested that you come to the estate for dinner this weekend,” he asked me, 

A scoff escaped my mouth. 

“I refuse,” I curtly replied. With everything going on, I honestly wasn’t in the mood to add my family’s drama. 

“Unfortunately, you cannot refuse sir. 

I recalled the last time I had met my father with Jasmine, it was chaotic to say the 

least. 

“Will Angela be there?” I inquired about my sister. 

“Yes, sir,” he replied. 

My sister was the only person I would be able to talk to at a gathering with my entire family. I couldn’t stand the rest. My mother, father, and Robert. They all coddled Robert, and I didn’t want to see that.
