228 Suspect listÂ
That evening, I continued going through the employee files I started in the office. With so many files to go through, I wanted to cover as much ground as possible at every free moment I had. It had been almost two weeks since Tony was taken. I felt the pressure to find him with each day.Â
When it got late, I put away my documents and pretended to fall asleep. In reality, with how stressed I was, I actually couldn’t sleep.Â
I heard movement from outside my room at some point, and even the door opening.Â
person was Keith was actually serious about me sleeping earlierOnce I confirmed the gone, I got up, turned on a small bedside table lamp from under by bedsheets, and continued working.Â
Tony’s giraffe was beside me for motivation. I would have to do my makeup better so Keith wouldn’t see the bags under my eyes. After a couple of hours. I managed to finish going through more than half of the folders on the suspect list. Unfortunately, they all checked out.Â
From Edward to the members of the finance team. I read through as many folders as I could. None of them was anywhere near the distribution center when Tony was kidnapped, they were all working at the office. None of them had any criminal records. So far, the only interesting details I found were of two employees who had connections to Kensington City.Â

I put down the papers I was working on the table in the seating area. I then stood up from the couch, and Keith looked up from his desktop.Â
“I have to use the bathroom,” I told him as I put my notebook in my handbag and picked it up.Â
“Do you have to take your bag with you?” he asked me.Â
“Yes, I do. I have my toiletries in here,” I told him.Â
He looked at me for a moment as if assessing if it was an unreasonable request. beforeÂ

he looked back at his desktop. That was him giving me ‘permission‘ to go. I felt so annoyed by how I couldn’t do basic things on my own and had to ask for permission. However, I would obviously bolt off if he didn’t do it, and I would.Â
Two female bodyguards of the five Keith had around us went with me to the bathroom that was just down the hall. They went into the room with me of course.Â
Every day coming into the office, I have been taking note of any gaps in security to see if there were any loopholes I could exploit.Â
However, Keith was having me watched like a hawk. Everywhere I went there was a bodyguard nearby. There was no chance for me to escape yet.Â
On the one hand, working with Keith was helping me compile more and more information on the investigation. The key part that was missing when Louis and I were investigating since Keith wasn’t aware yet. If I continued looking through his work files, I was sure to learn who the culprit was or have an idea.Â
I was taking detailed notes on everything I read in my notebook/journal, which I had requested from Keith. I had him think it was just so I could jot down anything that stuck out to me on all suspects and the financial documents, but it was so I had my own personal notes on the investigation. I moved around with the notebook everywhere in my bag.Â
That way, if I found an opportunity to escape, I had information I could take with me. I waited in anticipation that such an opening would come soon. However, the problem was that if a time came when I could escape when I hadn’t collected enough information. I needed to at least have a clear suspect down or something daming on Tony’s whereabouts.Â
The ideal situation would be to escape once I have a clear idea of who the culprit/ kidnapper was, run back to Louis, and I can go save Tony BEFORE Keith. Finding Tony would immediately annul his court order/conservatorship because it’s also centred on his kidnapping. I could then attempt to have my initial court order against him reinstated.Â
When I returned to the office, Keith wasn’t there I figured he had a meeting to attendÂ

or someting. However, his five bodyguards were watching me. I returned to looking through my documents at the seating area. I was almost done going through the folders of the finance department employees.Â
One of Keith’s bodyguards while he was out of the office. I decided to go through it and see what I would find ahead of Keith. I would tell him about it when he returned.Â
For the next hour or so, I read through all the details, putting everything in my notebook. Unfortunately for me, Kolton seemed to check out: When Tony was kidnapped, he was in his city at work. His mother had a home in Yorkshire city which he took care of and lived in for the seven years. And again, he worked for a subsidiary company out of Yorkshire, so he had no access to the Acland finance reports.Â
I let out a disappointed sigh. Out of all the suspects, his motivations made the most sense as to why he would target Keith and the company.Â
Of course, just because you don’t like someone doesn’t mean you would harm them. I finished documenting my findings in my notebook and tapped my pen against the book. This was troublesome. Almost all the suspects checked out as well.Â
I had told Keith about the two employees who had connections to Kensington City, and he had his men look into it further to see what they could find. So far, nothing turned up about what they were doing in the seven years that Diana lived there.Â
But there was also the strong possibility that this person had covered up their tracks well, so we wouldn’t find anything whilst looking into them. This just complicated everything because more than 20 suspects all of them remained on the list. We weren’t making any progress and eliminating any one by one.Â
With each passing day.Â

“He hadn’t come before?” I asked on infusion. He should have been there the day it happened if not within the first three days of the fire?Â

“He was out of the country when it happened,” he explained.Â
“Jasmine, we’ve already discussed this. With the estate in ruins, the debris from the damaged areas could fall and land on your injuries. I cant‘ risk it,” He told me.Â
