She was right if we couldn’t agree on this then it would be better to just stop the discussions and go our separate ways. It’s why I distanced myself from her in the first place. However, something felt different this time. Her removing her ring, her refusing to be provided by me, her giving up on me; it was starting to feel a little too real. It didn’t feel like she was just being petty as I thought. She seemed to genuinely not want to see me the way I had been ignoring her since I had her leave the house. 1Â
I felt something was wrong. What am I missing? I asked myself. The only reason I’ve done any of this to her is because of what I’d thought she had done to Diana. I’d seen the evidence myself. But…was I wrong? I hope Jasmine was just a really good and dramatic actress.Â
When I arrived home and entered the mansion I was met with Diana who was waiting for me by the entrance. She really didn’t have to wait for me. I thought to myself but still found it sweet.Â
“Honey, you’re back,” she said as she hugged me.Â
From the hug she looked up at me. I stared down at her as well bringing my hand toÂ
herÂ
You wouldn’t lie to me would you? I thought to myself as I tucked one of her hair strands behind her ear. Diana and I had a long history together. She’d lived such a hard life from before we metÂ
I shrugged any doubts out of my mind. Jasmine I swear of you’re just trying to manipulate me. I thought to myself.Â

JASMINES POVÂ
“Are you sure about this!?” the lawyer asked me in disbelief.Â
“Yes, I am,” I responded uninterestedly.Â
I was sat in the office of the divoroÂ
attorney I had my appointment with. Her nameÂ
I was Cathrine Higgins and she was a really good lawyer she had helped countless women with their divorces and her service rates were quite reasonable.Â
She was a middle aged woman with short well styled curly hair, she wore a fineÂ

feminine suit and sleek kitten heels. A fashion icon if you ask me.Â
“Ms. Towers, this doesn’t make any sense which woman doesn’t ask for alimony especially considering whom your husband is!” She asked.Â
I had explained to her who I was and so she knew I was the estranged wife of KeithÂ
Acland.Â
“Well, I don’t want his money,” I said to her with conviction.Â
“He’s that bad huh?” She asked me.Â
“You have no idea,” I simply responded to her.Â
Cathrine had actually been my lawyer in my past life. She had been the one to help me sue Keith and help in trying to make Tony the Acland heir. She had represented me so well in court and fought hard for me. She was the only person who knew something was wrong with the court proceedings since they were being delayed and Diana and Keith’s team would present false evidence. She knew the truth about Diana’s interference with my cases and did the best she could to help me. However, Diana and Keith had better resources and were bribing the court workers.Â
I had such a positive experience with her in my past life hence why I decided to ask for her help again. This time around I wouldn’t need her to stress herself over in court. It was a shame Catherine had no recollection of that had happened in my past life, I would have loved to talk to her about it.Â
“Alright, then, no alimony,” she repeated. “So just to get this right, the terms of your divorce are each party leaves with what belongs to them and you will have full custody of your son?”Â
“Yes,” I confirmed. “How long will the paperwork take?”Â
“Not that long it’s one of the simpler divorces. Maybe before the end of the week depending on the workload.”Â
After speaking on about a few formalities I then left her office.Â
I was now on my way to collect Tony from school. I had asked the manager if I could leave earlier and he allowed it. So I left after lunch service to go see my Lawyer. I hadn’t seen Mike of course since he wasn’t scheduled to work today but he had sent me a message telling me they were preparing his father for the surgery he was going to receive the following day. I sent him a message of confirmation and told him I hoped the surgery would go well. I would wait for his message the next day.Â

That evening after dinner, Tony and I were cleaning up the dishes when I received a message on my phone. Checking it I saw it was from Louis. I opened it.Â
Hey Jasmine how are you? This weekend is the F1 Grand Prix finals at the Yorkshire racetrack I would like to invite you and your son to attend it with me if you would like. Would like to catch up with a family friend.Â
My eyes widened in surprise. It was nice hear back from him. I’m sure Tony would enjoy the Grand Prix very much since he loves cars. It would be an activity for us. However, there was just one I was concerned about.Â
‘Won’t your girlfriend have a problem with this?‘ I texted back.Â
From my past life, I knew that Louis would get married to at some point in the next few years. Although I didn’t keep up with him I remembered seeing his wife on social media. I wasn’t sure if they were already dating or not. I didn’t see a ring of Louis finger the last time we met so he definitely wasn’t married yet. If he currently had a girlfriend it would awkward third wheeling with them would be awkward.Â
‘I’m single Jasmine there’s no need to worry. He replied.Â
So he hadn’t met her yet. I felt relieved…Â
Well then my son and I would love to join you. Thank you for inviting us. texted him back.Â
Excellent, see you on Saturday then.‘ He replied.Â
We wished each each other goodnight.Â
