88 New Plan 

He cocked any eyebrow at me. “What do you mean?” 

“I’m sure you’re aware Mr Gatwick has a reputation among the restaurants employees for molesting and harming young women,” I told him. 

I recalled that he was the one who had found Rebecca and stop the situation with Gateick from escalating. He was also looking for Megan that day to stop Gatwick from trying anything on Megan. The manager was against Gatwick too. Perhaps I could get him to help, Megan, Mike and I. 

His eyes then widened in horror after I mentioned this. “Jasmine stop. You cannot talk about that. Oh my god….that’s probably why you were fired.” he said as he brought his hand to his head in realization. “I don’t know what you’ve been up that Mr Gatwick might have caught wind of, but you have to stop. Even if you’re fired it doesn’t mean he can’t ruin your life. This isn’t a can of worms you want you want to continue opening,” he warned me. 

“I understand your concern manager, but aren’t you against the things he does and concerned for the victims of his predatory actions?” I tried to get him to sympathize 

with Gatwicks victims. 

Perhaps if I explained to him he would let me stay and I could carry out the plan as 

normal. 

“You don’t seem to understand the gravity of the situation, Jasmine. Mr Gatwick is not someone we can mess with,” he warned, “Of course I’m against the things he does. However, this is not a game on which we are on the same playing level with him! Do you think you’re the first person to try to stop him? I’ve seen how this ends time and time again. No one ever wins, only lives get silently destroyed. Sometimes, you can’t be 

the hero” 

“Manager listen I have a plan that could catch Gateick and we present the evidence to the CEO. However, we have to do it today-” I began to explain. 

“You have what planned!? What you’re saying could cost me my job and get you in more trouble, if you’re caught trying to do!” he whisper–yelled at me, interrupting me.,” he explained depressingly. 

Shit, he didn’t want to listen to me.

“Manager please hear me out-,” I tried to continue. “I’m in contact with the CEO. I can prove it to y-” 

“Jasmine you need to leave now!” the manager cut me off. “In fact I’ll have you escorted out. I can’t risk you trying anything today. Let go of any ideas you have of trying to stop Mr Gatwick. You won’t win.” 

He then went to the door of his office and called security. 

Of course, he wouldn’t believe I knew the CEO personally. Why did I think mentioning him would work! I actually understood the manager’s perspective. Clearly he had seen an experienced first hand the kinds of things Gatwick could do to people. He was the manager after all and worked closely with Gatwick. I imagined he had his own harrowing experiences with Gatwick. I had no doubt in my mind that Gatwick abused his power to get what he wanted. 

I was escorted out of the manager’s office wondering how I was going to carry out the plan. Fuck. I needed to stay in the restaurant. I had to get that evidence today. It was the final piece that would tie everything together. 

I wasn’t bothered by the fact that I was fired. I intended to quit anyway after today but the timing of my firing was most inconvenient. I literally had to be present for the plan and ensure I provided safety for Megan when things went wrong but also obtained the evidence I needed. 

The security took me to change out of my uniform and get my belongings before I was escorted out of the restaurant. We passed through the main dining area where the waiters were carrying out breakfast service. 

I noticed Megan and Mike looking at me in confusion as I was escorted out of the building. 

I then received a text from my phone. “Jasmine We saw you get escorted out. What’s going on? 

“A bit of a setback. I just got fired,” I explained to them. 

‘What why!? And what do you mean a bit? this is a major setback!‘ Mike said. 

I then got a message from Megan. 

I added Megan and made a group chat so that all three of us could communicate. 

“So do we go on with the plan?” Megan asked.

“Of course not its too risky now that we’re one man down!‘ Mike argued against it. 

‘I knew this plan was going to have issues I’ve been against it this whole time!” 

Alright, negative Nancy. Megan retorted. ‘I have some tables to wait my replies might be slow,‘ she added. 

“This isn’t a joke Megan this could seriously go wrong! Mike said. 

A wind blew past me as I stood in the middle of the street outside the restaurant. My eyes averted away from my phone looking around as my hand clutched my jacket 

closer to me. 

I then saw two figures approach me and realized that it was my two bodyguards. They had gone out from the restaurant to join me. Once they reached me I turned to them. “Don’t tell the CEO about this yet,” I requested them. I’m sure they told him a lot about me and the things I did. I planned to call him eventually, I just needed to find a way to resolve this issue. 

However, we couldn’t stand out here in the street. I had us go to the cafe I had met with Rebecca the other day, to wait in the meantime as I discussed with Megan and Mike what we were going to do. 

Once I sat down at a table I checked my phone again. 

“I say we continue with the plan we’ve already prepared everything anyway. 

A few minutes later Mike responded. ‘Are you crazy!? Have ignored everything else I’ve mentioned, he typed. 

“Guys this is our only chance to stop Gatwick. Megan started. 2
