91 An arrest 

JASMINES POVO 

I opened my eyes and found Louis holding Andrew’s arm. 

“Louis,” I said his name in surprise. 

“Mr Gatwick what exactly is going on here?” Louis asked furiously. 

“Mr Acland!” Gatwick said his name in horror. “What are you doing here?” 

“That’s not how one should react to their boss arriving is it?” he asked as he continued holding onto Gatwicks arm. 

Louis then turned to me for a moment. 

“Are you alright?” he asked me in a gentle tone, the anger leaving him for a moment. I was taken aback by how his mood quickly shifted. 

I nodded my head. “Yeah, I’m fine,” I replied. Now that you’re here I wanted to add. He had such impeccable timing. 

He then turned to Gatwick once more. “Let me ask you again, what is going on here?” 

he asked. 

“It’s not what it looks like,” he stated. 

“And that is?” he asked him. 

“That bitc–woman set me up!” he yelled as he pointed at me with his free arm. 

Something seemed to switch for Louis, whose pupils dilated in anger at Gatwick’s 

words. 

He then forcefully pushed Gatwick with the arm he held onto. Gatwick groaned and fell backward landing hard on the floor. 

“Set you up for what exactly?” Louis asked even angrier. His aura was frightening as he towered over Gatwick like he was going beat him to a bloody pulp. Even I felt a little intimidated by him in this moment. 

“Sir,” Gatwick cowered in fear. His whole body was trembling. 

“From what I saw you lunged at her whilst she was simply standing there. No one set

you up to do that,” he told him. His voice was cold and frightening. 

“I–I didn’t mean any of it, sir” he begged. I almost felt sorry for Gatwick but then I recalled how he’d treated all his victims. He never cared for the fear they felt. 

“You told me to come here, explain to me what’s going on,” Louis then asked me. 

I cleared my throat and stepped forward. “Andrew Gatwick has been abusing his power as the chief of staff of the restaurant. He has been exhibiting inappropriate behavior with several young female employees for a while and has been threatening anyone who tries to report it,” I told him. 

Louis‘ pupils widened in shock upong hearing this. “Is that so?” he then asked as he turned to Gatwick still seated on the office floor. 

“Sir, that’s just hearsay you can’t believe anything she’s saying!” he said. 

“So 

you swear that if I look into this I will find you to be innocent” Louis asked anger laced in his voice. 

“Mr Carrington I assure you I have more than enough evidence to prove these claims,” I informed Louis. 

I then explained the details what had transpired today in full to Louis and then presented to him the recording I had just taken of the things Gatwick had said. I then explained Gatwicks predatory nature. 

The manager also spoke up and gave further details.

Once we were done explaining the situation Louis had the cops called. Also had the restaurant which was in the middle of lunch service shut down. All diners were told to leave the restaurant due to an ‘emergency‘. However, they didn’t have to pay for anything they had been eating as compensation for disrupting their meals. He also had the rest of the staff take the day off once they were done cleaning and clearing up the 

restaurant. 

We had all left the manager’s office and were in the dining area where we waited for the cops to arrive. Henry and Kyle stood beside Gatwick who was sat down at a table quietly crying to himself. Once the cops arrived Gatwick was arrested and taken away. 

Louis spoke to the police with the manager. Once the cops left Louis turned to the 

manager.

“I’ll have people sent over to collect more details on today’s incident and other 

incidents concerning him…” I overheard him say to the manager as they left the dining area to speak. 

I was with Mike and Megan seated at one of the tables in the dining area. 

“Are you guys okay?” I asked Megan and Mike, 

“Yeah, miraculously. I was so scared you have no idea,”she told me, “When my plan backfired I really thought I was a goner.” 

“I can’t believe you tried to go on with the plan by yourself!” Mike yelled at her. 

“Yeah that was extremely reckless, Megan. Things could have ended really badly,” I 

chimed in. 

Megan winced from the reprimanding. “I’m sorry, guys” she apologized and he rolled his eyes. “Honestly, I really fucked up. Literally my actions were about to get me, you and the manager fired. If it weren’t for you Jasmine and the CEO…” she trailed of. 

“About that,” Mike started as his gaze shifted to me. “The CEO mentioned that you 

called for him, Jasmine.” 

“Yes, I did,” I answered. Right, how was I going to explain this to them? I asked myself. 

“How did you get in contact with him? In fact, who were those bodyguards you came in with?” he went on to ask the questions I knew he would ask. 

“Yeah,” Megan chimed in. 

“Well-” I started as they both curiously looked at me. ” It’s a bit complicated.” 

“Jasmine, Let’s go,” I suddenly heard a familiar voice say to me. 

I looked up and found Louis standing by the table edge. I hadn’t noticed him come to 

the table. 

“Okay,” I replied to him. I then turned to Mike and Megan once more who were looking at Louis and I in shock. I’m sure they were wondering why we knew each other. 

“I promise I’ll explain everything to you guys soon. Take care.” I gave them my final words before standing up and walking away with Louis. 

“I can’t believe all this was happening behind my back,” Louis said in disbelief as we walked out of the restaurant. “He’s an experienced well–accomplished man who my

family chose for the job. I thought he would do his job only to find out all this. I should have done a better job of checking on the restaurant.”
