94 A new job offer 

I was touched by how much Louis sympathized with Gatwicks victims. He really wanted them to get justice, however, he still blamed himself for what happened. 

“Oh and before I forget I looked into why Gatwick had you fired,” he told me. “Apparently, a woman requested him to do it and paid him a lump sone of money” 

“Diana,” I instantly replied. 

“You think it’s her?” he asked. 

“She is the only woman I knew who would do something like this.” 

“Mmhm,” he start as he contemplated. “We haven’t confirmed the person yet so I’ll give you an update soon.” He assured me. 

I already knew it was her, though. 

“In any case, I hope to have the majority of this situation dealt with, within a couple of days. And then we can get back to you and your situation. He informed me. 

“Tomorrow, I’ll be busy so I won’t be able to spend time with you and Anthony. But feel free to do as you please,” he told me. 

“Alright,” I responded a little disappointed but I understood he had work to do. 

“Just remember to take Henry and Kyle with you wherever you go,” he said to me. 

I once again agreed to his terms. 

“And Jasmine, thank you for bringing my attention to Gatwick,” he told me. “I dont if i ever would hsve found out other wise.” 

I smiled happy i had helped in some way. 

The following day Tony and I spent the morning deciding what to do for the day. We ended up choosing to go to visit an old castle that was just outside the city. It was a beautiful 18th–century historical site with lovely massive gardens. I had gone there myself in the past for some parties/events that were held there at night but never for tourist/sightseeing during the day. 

With Henry and Kyle escorting us we went to the castle where we explored the castle

it had a museum as well so we checked that out as well. 

We had a picnic in the massive royal gardens for lunch. We then had a round two of bike riding lessons, continuing on from the last time we rode bikes. Of course I made sure to take lots of pictures. Overall it was a pleasant day for the two of us. 

We didn’t have a home to ourselves at the moment but once we did I would add them 

to the new decoration wall we had.

The following day Tony and I spent most the day lounging about the house. I had seen Louis at breakfast but he disappeared afterwards. 

It was now late in the afternoon, Tony and I were seated in a one of the sitting rooms 

near our rooms. 

“What is the value of n in the equation 64: n = 8

3. 6 
4. 8” Tony read the math question out loud. 

“Well, what’s the answer?” I asked him to solve it. 

I was helping Tony study he said he had maths test coming up this week. 

Tony’s grades have always been good but he has some bumps here and there. 

No child of mine was going to fail! 

“You busy?” I then heard Louis’familiar voice ask me. Louis and I turned to look at him as he stood by the room’s entrance. He was back home I realized. 

I looked down at Tony. “No,” I answered as I looked back at him. “Just finishing some studying with him.” 

“Wow, you look miserable, Anthony. What subject is this?” Louis asked. 

“Maths,” Tony answered in a despressed voice. 

“Damn, sorry little man,” he said. 

I stood up from my seat and looked at Tony one last time. “Make sure you you finish

those set of questions.” I instructed Tony. “And then you can play on your tablet. F’ll check your work too.” 

“Okay, mum,” Tony responded with a tone of despair. 

I went to Louis. 

“Hope you’re not torturing him,” he commented feeling sorry for Tony. 

“He’ll survive,” I remarked proudly. 

“Let’s go to the balcony,” he suggested and we went to the living room balcony. 

“How are things going so far?” I asked as we went to sit at one of the seating areas of the balcony. 

“Good, I think we’ve made a lot of progress. The full extent of Gatwick’s crimes has become clear.” he answered me. 

“That’s good to here. So, what’s up?” I then asked why he wanted to speak with me. 

“Well I wanted to talk to you because I would like to make you an offer,” he started. “I need to fnd someone to replace Gatwick. And you’re going to searching for a new job now that you quit working at the restaurant. So I was wondering if you would like to become my new assistant.” 

My pupils widened in disbelief as I wondered if he was serious. 

“But Louis I’m not qualified for the job,” I started. I don’t have a degree in business or management. I don’t meet the requirements.” 

“And yet Gatwick who had all of that still couldn’t do his job,” he confidently answered. 

“Louis, you’ve already helped me do much enough handouts from you. You don’t have to just me the position just because I need it. You need to give it someone deserving of the job.” I explained to him. 

Even if the job would help me make a lot of money, it would be wrong to get it just because of connections. 

“You underestimate yourself,” he said to me. “Even if you don’t have the formal education and experience for the position. You sure have the capabilities for the position.” 

I gave him a puzzled look wondering what he meant by this.

Taught yourself how to understand company documents and wrote up the most detailed well–structured report on your findings.” he told me.”Not only does it show you’re a fast learner but you also put a lot of effort and attention to detail in your work. The executive assistant position requires someone who can watch over all the restaurants and pay attention to detail. ”
