“No, please, Chloe, don’t throw me out! We’re classmates. Cut me some slack!” Mandy pleaded, her voice trembling with desperation.

Daisy had always relied on her brother’s backing to bully Chloe, and now she was seething with rage.

“Chloe, you bitch, grown some guts, huh? If you dare toss me ou my brother will make you pay!” Daisy shouted.

She struggled with all her might, but she was too small and weak to break free.

Her voice turned even more venomous and shrill. “Captain? What a joke. You just slept your way to the top. Nothing but a plaything…”

With a loud smack, Frank slapped Daisy hard across the face, leaving her cheek blazing red.

Frank was so pissed off that steam was practically coming out of his ears. He wanted to just grab a knife and finish her off right now.

You wanna die, fine, but don’t get me killed along with you, alright?‘ Frank thought.

Before Daisy could spit out another word, Frank chucked both girls out as far as he could and slammed the warehouse door shut with a bang.

Outside, their raw, desperate screams and begging for mercy rang out.

When Frank came back, Chloe had already packed up all the remaining supplies in the warehouse.

“The place reeks of blood. Zombies will be here any minute. Lets get out of here,” Chloe said.

“Got it,” Frank replied.

It had only been a few minutes since they killed Ramon and the others, but already, zombie howls echoed from outside.

They exchanged a look and quickly took off.

Outside, zombies were everywhere, and the two girls were screaming as they bolted.

Chloe couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.

With all that yelling, they’re practically inviting every zombie in town over,’ Chloe thought.

“Get in the car,” Chloe ordered.

Frank slid back into the driver’s seat, with Mindy hopping into the passenger side.

Chloe and Emily quickly opened the RV doors and jumped inside.

Right as Chloe was about to slam the door, a hand shot throughhe gap. It was Daisy.

She felt the blast of warm air, caught sight of the fancy interior and the mouthwatering spread on the table. Her eyes lit up instantly.

“Chloe, I swear I won’t tell my brother anything. We’re still family Please, let me in!” Daisy pleaded desperately.

Chloe tilted her head, her voice cold as ice. “Your brother? He’s ready rotting in hell. If you wanna snitch, be my guest.”

Chapter 102

Chloe kicked Daisy away, slammed the door with a bang, and snapped, “Drive.”

Frank floored the gas, and the base vehicle shot forward like a bullet.

Liana eagerly took their coats and hung them up, then brought out the freshly made ravioli from the kitchen.

The RV was always kept warm, so as soon as they stepped inside they had to shed their heavy coats.

To avoid any unnecessary trouble, their military coats were all tern and caked with zombie blood.

But once they took off their coats, their clothes underneath were spotless, and their hair, hidden under their hats, was soft and shiny.

Frank kept his foot on the gas, and as long as nothing got in their way, they’d be cruising smoothly. If all went well, they’d hit Grovenwich by tomorrow night.

But of course, just when things seemed to be going well, something went wrong.

The highway was completely blocked.

Chloe climbed up onto the roof, looking out at the endless sea of cars stretching to the horizon. Her head started pounding.

On

any

other day, they could walk. But all that honking now drove her nuts.

With a pregnant woman, a baby, and an elderly woman in their group, there was no way they could just make a run for it. They had to take a detour.

“Molly, you feeling alright?” Chloe asked.

Molly shook her head. “Nope, I’m good.”

Chloe let out a sigh of relief.

“Emily, can you sense if there are any other roads nearby?” Chloe asked.

Emily closed her eyes, focusing for a moment. “No other roads around, but the highway’s flanked by empty fields. Should we try going through the fields?”

Chloe glanced at Joan, who was holding the baby, and shook her head. “No way. Joan just had a baby, and neither of them could handle that.”

If they went that way, they’d have to get out and walk. The RV would never make it through the fields.

Chloe pulled out the map, studied it for a while, then said, “Let’s turn back and take the back roads.”

“But if we do that, we’ll have to take a much longer route, and honestly, who knows what kind of mess is waiting for us if we go through Riverside?” Frank said.

After all, Molly’s powers had already shown that this way was the safest bet.

Just then, a car horn blared from behind them.

A sedan pulled up alongside, its window rolling down to reveal a man’s face.

“Excuse me,

do you guys have any milk in your car?” the man called out.

Mindy, who was closest, just ignored him.

The man tried again. “How about I trade you a whole box of past for some milk?”

Still, no one responded.

The man was getting frantic. “My three–year–old daughter has cried herself exhausted. She can’t sleep without milk.”

To show he wasn’t lying, he grabbed a whole box of pasta from the back seat, looking genuinely desperate.

He stood shivering in the cold wind, still knocking on the glass door, refusing to give up.

Mindy, fed up, took the plastic bag with cartons of milk from Chloe.

When the man saw the milk, he looked like he was about to cry from relief.

“Thank you so much!” he called out gratefully, then hurried back to his car.

Inside, a woman’s voice trembled as she sniffled, “Honey, you’re going to spoil our daughter.”

“Don’t worry about it. She’s just a little kid. She can’t sleep without her milk,” the man said.

Chloe’s base vehicle was huge and a real pain to turn. Frank had to wrestle with the wheel for ages before he finally managed to get it around the corner.

The man, unable to contain his curiosity, rolled down his window again and called out, “Which way are you guys planning to go?”

When he caught sight of Frank’s fierce, intimidating face, he quickly put on a nervous smile.

The man said, “No offense, I’m not trying to cause trouble. But this way’s a dead end. Can I stick with you guys?

“I’ll just follow behind you. It’s been over a month since the apocalypse, and most people have turned into flesh–eating monsters. It’s a miracle to see other survivors…”

As he spoke, this big guy actually started choking up.

Frank’s lips twitched, but he didn’t say a word–just ignored the guy and drove off in the opposite direction.

Molly’s voice drifted over. “Dad, I don’t think he means any harm.”

Frank could tell the guy wasn’t a threat, so he didn’t bother reaching for his knife. He just let the man tag along, shameless as

ever.

In the car behind, a young, pretty woman sat in the backseat with her little girl.

The little girl hugged her milk carton tight, drinking like her life lepended on it, tears sparkling at the corners of her eyes as she sniffled. She looked absolutely adorable.
