Mike, who’d just been shoved away with a slap, was flustered and wanted to lose his temper, but when he met the cheetah’s gaze, he lost his nerve. 

He tried to sound patient and said, “Hey, big guy, don’t be mad. let us give it another shot. We’ll save your master for sure.” 

Even as he said it, he didn’t really believe it himself. 

The cheetah pointed its rear at the powered human team, eyes fixed on the doorway. 

“Captain, what’s it staring at?” Mike asked. 

The captain looked confused, following the cheetah’s gaze toward the door. 

The next moment, Chloe strolled in without a care. Seeing her, Mike and his crew almost choked in surprise. 

They thought, ‘Why do we keep running into her everywhere?‘ 

“W–What brings you here?” Mike stammered. 

Chloe glanced at him, one eyebrow arching with cool indifference. 

She thought, ‘So the soldier they wanted to save is the cheetah’s master.’ 

She turned to the ragged soldier standing nearby, quietly sizing him up. 

She thought, ‘Is there something going on between this unconscious man and the soldiers?‘ 

Before Chloe could process what was happening, the cheetah rushed over, anxiously grabbing her clothes with its teeth and dragging her toward the bed. 

Standing by the bed, Chloe couldn’t help but draw in a sharp breath: Noah, lying there, was seriously injured. 

His entire body was covered in savage bite marks from mutant beasts, and a deep, gruesome scar ran across his sharply defined face, cutting all the way to the bone. 

Chloe thought, ‘What a waste of a good–looking face.’ 

She turned to the cheetah and asked, “Why does your master en up worse every single time? 

“You’re a tier–four mutant beast, and you still can’t keep your mater safe? Seriously, what’s the point? Useless.” 

The cheetah, meanwhile, didn’t have a scratch on it. It was still full of energy and bouncing around. 

The cheetah had been feeling guilty, but as soon as Chloe called useless, it immediately bared its fangs at her and let out a defiant snarl. 

Chloe was unfazed. She simply shoved its massive head aside. 

She reached out and felt for Noah’s pulse: barely there, but the gay was still hanging on by a thread. 

She flipped his eyelids, yanked his mouth open, and checked his all over, not missing a single spot. 

The cheetah let out another low growl, warning Chloe not to tak advantage of its master. 

But Chloe just sent it sprawling with a swift kick.

Chapter 108 

Then it turned to the soldiers, its eyes glinting with deadly inten 

Its glare sent a chill down Chloe’s spine. Phantom Zombie instintively tensed up, trembling. 

But then Chloe switched gears.

She said, “But your master’s lucky he ran into me. I’ve got a kille healing ability. If anyone can pull him back from the dead, it’s me. Even if he’s already shaking hands with the Grim Reaper I can-” 

The cheetah growled, clearly impatient. 

Chloe coughed twice and added, “Basically, I can save your master.” 

She then ran a hand through her hair and let out a dramatic sigh She said, “Man, I wiped out all my energy fighting zombies on the way here. If you want me to heal him, I’m gonna need a serious energy boost.” 

She really stretched out that last part, making it painfully obvious what she was hinting at. 

The mutant cheetah shot off like a rocket, not wasting a single second. 

When it came back, it had its mouth stuffed with bags, hustling back and forth like some kind of furry delivery service, making trip after trip. 

Pretty soon, there was a mountain of bags piled up around Chlo: almost as tall as she was. 

Most of them were black hiking backpacks, mixed in with a bunch of military duffel bags and airdrop packs that looked fresh off a helicopter. 

Mike’s eyes bulged. He said, “Dude, these are all our bags.” 

Mike’s captain felt the sting. Nothing hurt more than watching their gear get snatched up as medical fees by that damn cheetah. 

Even the soldiers nearby looked seriously uncomfortable. 

Those backpacks were stuffed with their guns, ammo, and all the supplies they’d managed to scrounge up lately. 

A tall, young soldier finally couldn’t hold it in anymore. 

He said, “By government orders, regular folks aren’t allowed to have guns or ammo. The rest of the supplies, you can take them, but-” 

Before he could finish, the mutant cheetah locked its eyes on him, radiating a dangerous vibe. 

The tall soldier pressed his lips together. 

Another soldier grabbed his arm and whispered, “Peyton, the chetah’s master is the one who saved our lives. Plus, we’ve got a more important mission to focus on.” 

Just thinking about that mission, Peyton didn’t say another word 

Chloe dug through the pile, but most of it was stuff she wouldn’t ouch with a ten–foot pole. She even found some bread that looked like it had seen better days, all moldy and nasty. 

Guns and ammo? She had plenty already, but hey, no one ever said no to extra loot, even if it was a hassle. Chloe told Emily 

it all up and stash it.

“Kitty, seriously? Is this all you’ve got? Come on, this is just pathetic,” Chloe called out to the cheetah.

Remembering its master still needed Chloe’s help, the cheetah immediately backed down.
