Elise’s eyes were glued to Noah and the mutant cheetah perched on his shoulder. She thought, “That guy is so handsome That spotted kitty is so pretty! It looks just like a cheetah. I totally love it! 

She walked over, ignoring everyone else, pointed at Noah, and asked, “What’s your name?” 

Her voice sounded totally condescending. 

Noah didn’t give her the time of day an Elise finally looked at Chloe, and the moment she 

just moved behind Chloe. 

saw Chloe’s face, her expression soured. 

She always considered herself a total ““ut, especially after the apocalypse, when everyone else was starving and looked 

gaunt and sickly. 

But she could still shower, brush her teeth, and pamper herself with beauty treatments, so she looked better and better compared to everyone else. That’s why she’d gotten so cocky lately. 

But then, out of the blue, she spotted a girl at the base who was even prettier than her, and a wave of jealousy hit her instantly. 

Emily could tell Elise was trouble, so she tuned in to the hushed gossip nearby with her powers. 

She leaned over and whispered in Chloe’s ear, “That’s Elise. Eighteen, base chief’s daughter, and a space–powered human.” 

After whispering, Emily straightened up, expressionless, meeting Elise’s gaze without a trace of nervousness or fear. 

Chloe raised an eyebrow at that. 

In her previous life, everyone knew Elise’s name. She was famous all over. 

Elise was the Bluehaven Base chief’s favorite daughter, and her love life was a total mess. She was obsessed with handsome guys and would snatch up any good–looking man she laid eye

In the end, she died in a riot started by her own harem of men, her body ripped apart and dumped out in the wild. 

That whole thing was the talk of the base for ages. Everyone was gossiping about it. 

Even though Chloe had never met Elise in person, her reputation was legendary. 

Chloe glanced at Noah behind her: those sharp brows and starry eyes made him a total heartthrob. No wonder Elise had her eyes on him. 

Chloe thought, ‘But Elise is about to get a rude awakening!‘ 

Elise said to Noah, “Hey, handsome, wanna be my boyfriend? My dad’s the base chief, and we’ve got loads of supplies at home. Stick with me, and you’ll be living the good life.” 

As soon as she brought up supplies, everyone stared at her like she’d lost her mind. 

Chloe couldn’t help but roll her eyes. She thought, ‘What an idiot. 

‘Yeah, your dad’s the base chief, and you love showing off, but did you really just announce your family’s got a stash of supplies? 

‘Isn’t that basically admitting your dad’s been skimming off the top and keeping the good stuff for himself?”

Chapter 123 

Noah didn’t say a word, totally ignoring Elise. His eyes stayed gluted to Chloe. 

Seeing Chloe just enjoying the show with that half–smile on her face, Noah felt all that pent–up irritation stuck in his chest. making him even more annoyed. 

He thought, ‘Why isn’t she mad?‘ 

While Noah was still brooding, Elise walked right up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. 

She said, “Hey, handsome, you’re my boyfriend now.” 

It sounded like she was asking, but her tone made it clear it wasn’t really a choice. 

Noah, irritated, slapped her hand away and scrubbed at his shoulder, as he’d just been touched by something dirty. 

Elise had never been snubbed like this by a guy before. She pointed straight at Chloe and barked, “Hand over your man. I’ll give you 100 pounds of grain.” 

Everyone gasped. 

They thought, ‘Damn, 100 pounds of grain? Elise is seriously loaded. No wonder people say her dad’s been hoarding supplies.’ 

But a few of the staff just rolled their eyes. 

They thought, ‘Come on, that girl had just posted a task with 300 pounds of grain and a cigarette as the reward. Obviously, she is not hurting for supplies. 

‘But her team looks so weak; they probably won’t last long before caving in and just giving up the hottie, just like all the others did.‘ 

Chloe was totally caught off guard. 

Her beautiful eyes went wide as she pointed at herself. 

She asked, “My man?” 

Chloe thought, ‘What the hell? When did Noah become my man?‘ 

Elise glanced at Noah, her eyes practically sparkling with obsession. She thought, ‘God, he’s gorgeous. 

“That’s right, sell him to me,” Elise said to Chloe. 

When Chloe didn’t respond, Elise’s voice turned cold as she threatened, “Hand him over and get your 100 pounds of grain, or else, you die!” 

She said that last word with a smile, but nobody thought she was kidding. 

The four snipers around her already had their rifles trained on Chloe, black muzzles pointed right at her. 

All Elise had to do was give the order, and Chloe would be riddled with bullets. 

Frank and the others immediately stood up, stepping in front of Chloe to shield her. 

But that just made the other powered humans around them burst out laughing, clearly taking pleasure in their predicament. 

“You guys better just give in. Elsie is the little princess in our base. Mess with her and you’re toast,” one of them mocked. 

Elise clapped her hands, her lips parted in a wicked grin. She ordered, “Kill her.” 

Chapter 123 

Just as Frank and the others were about to let their aura loose, ready to show their power, a shadow darted through the crowd and landed right beside Elise. 

It was Noah. 

He clamped his hand around Elise’s throat, his fingers bone–white as he started to squeeze, slow and merciless. 

Elise’s face turned purple as Noah squeezed, and the four powered human guards nervously trained their black muzzles on Noah. 

They didn’t hesitate; they squeezed the triggers. 

There was a sharp crack, and the bullets flew straight for Noah’s head before anyone could react. 

Just as everyone was holding their breath, Noah grabbed Elise’s arm and used it as a shield, letting the bullets hit her instead. 

He was so fast that nobody even caught what happened. One blink, and Elise was howling in agony. 

“You bastard!” Elise screamed, her voice raw with pain. 

When people looked closer, they saw the bullet had punched straight through Elise’s arm, leaving a gaping, bloody wound. 

Everyone went pale as a sheet. The base chief’s daughter got hurt right here, and nobody wanted to take the fall for it. 

Panic broke out, and everyone scattered like they were being chased by ghosts. 

Even the staff were left dumbstruck. The Thunderforce Squad didn’t even stick around to grab their mission; they just rushed off. 

Someone must’ve hit the alarm, because soon there was a chaotic shuffle of footsteps coming from outside. 

“Who’s causing trouble in the hall?” a commanding voice boomed from the entrance. 

A man dressed in black strode in, followed by a massive crowd of armed powered humans. They swarmed in and quickly pinned down anyone who hadn’t managed to escape. 

The doors were blocked off tightly. 

William had been sent by Richard to recruit a healer, but he never expected to walk in and see Elise getting attacked. 

Elise’s arm had a bullet hole straight through it. William thought, ‘If Richard saw this, he’d totally lose his mind. 

William shouted out, “Hurry up! Where the hell are the medics? Get a stretcher in here, now!” 

The place was a total warzone. 

Chloe and her group were instantly surrounded by gun–toting powered humans. 

Chloe was just speechless. 

She said, “Look, I’m telling you, this has nothing to do with us. Would anyone actually buy that?” 

William shot them a look like they were already walking corpses. 

“Doesn’t matter what went down. The base chief’s daughter got hurt because of you, so you’re all dead meat!” he spat.
