Chapter 165 

Chloe walked over. “Filip, stick close to Noah. He’s got lightning powers too, so maybe he can show you how to control yours.” 

“Got it, Chloe,” Filip replied. 

Filip looked at Noah, flashing a grin that showed off his tiny canine teeth. “Sir, thanks for helping me out 

Noah’s expression soured at that. 

“I’m Noah, your cousin’s boyfriend,” Noah corrected him.. 

The rest of the group all froze. 

Chloe was totally stunned. 

Filip blinked wide–eyed, glancing back and forth between them as he’d just stumbled onto some wild secret. 

Every member of the Blaze Squad had that unmistakable gossip–hungry look in their eyes. 

Filip tested it out, calling, “Noah, Boyfriend?” 

Chloe smacked him hard on the forehead. 

“Ouch, that hurts!” Filip whined, rubbing his head. 

Filip looked up at Chloe, who was standing there, hands on her hips, shooting him a death glare. 

“Whose little brother are you, huh? You just call people whatever they tell you to?” Chloe demanded. 

“Then, what am I supposed to call him?” Filip asked, looking all innocent. 

Chloe was so frustrated she nearly blew her top. This little rascal, he actually dares to mess with me now, she thought. 

Before Chloe could get a word out, Noah, clearly in high spirits, said with a grin, “Let me show you how to control your lightning powers.” 

Just hearing Filip call him Chloe’s boyfriend was enough to put Noah in a great mood for ages. 

‘Man, this kid’s going places!‘ Noah thought. 

The little drama blew over fast, and the squad headed out with William at the front. They picked up a good haul of supplies along the way. 

Thankfully, it was still freezing cold out. Aside from the chill and running into a few mutant zombies, there weren’t many other mutant creatures to worry about. 

All things considered, the trip was pretty safe. 

Every time they rolled up somewhere, Chloe would strip the place bare; if it wasn’t nailed down, it was gone. 

With William egging them on, every shop along the way got looted down to the last spoon. Tables, chairs, pots, pans, if you could carry it, it was theirs. 

All that was left were hollowed–out buildings. Honestly, if they could’ve pried the walls off, they probably would’ve. 

William just flashed Chloe a cheeky grin when he caught her speechless face.

Chapter 165 

Jans 

“Hey, can’t help it. We’re flat–out broke back at the base,” he shrugged. 

“Should we take some cars? Chloe asked. 

“Bul?” William blinked, thrown for a loop. He thought Chloe was just messing with him, so her question totally caught him, off guard. 

Chloe pointed at the rows of cars parked along the road. 

“After the apocalypse, cars are hard to come by. You never know when we’ll need them,” she said. 

Everyone around sucked in a sharp breath. 

‘Wait, did she really just say that?‘ everyone thought. ‘Captain Yates can actually stash cars in her space? Just how massive is her storage anyway? 

“Wait, we can actually do that?” William blurted out. 

Chloe nodded seriously. “Yeah, but we’ll split the cars fifty–fifty.” 

William shot Chloe a grateful look. 

Honestly, she could’ve easily stored all those cars in her spiritual space and kept them for herself. 

But by splitting them, she was basically showing support for the military. 

“Thank you so much,” William said, bowing deeply. 

Chloe waved it off. “No need to thank me. I just want to build a good relationship with the military, so we can help each other out in the future.” 

“Of course, that sounds great,” William replied. 

That was exactly what William wanted, too. He wanted to build a good relationship with the Blaze Squad. 

After all, they had a fourth–level powered human on their team. 

With Chloe clearing the way by stashing all the cars in her spiritual space, the road was wide open. By afternoon, the military had reached the Medical Tower. 

The place was eerily quiet. No humans, no zombies, nothing at all, just the soft whisper of snowflakes hitting the ground. 

“Something’s off. Everyone, stay alert and take cover,” William ordered. 

William ordered everyone to ready their weapons and told the communications officer behind him to try contacting the people inside the Medical Tower. 

The communications officer tried several times, his face getting paler each time. “Major, no response.” 

Everyone looked tense, their hearts racing. 

‘No way, could they already be dead?‘ someone thought, anxiety gnawing at them. 

As soon as they got close, Emily used her spirit power to scan the area, frowning. 

Emily said, “Chloe, there’s nothing out here.” 

But the Phantom Zombie suddenly snapped her head up, those eyes glowing with a creepy light, shaking all over.

Chapter 165 

Before anyone could react, she started moving forward, as if answering her master’s call. 

“Phantom Zombie, Phantom Zombie,” Chloe shouted after her, voice rising in panic. 

Phantom Zombie hesitated for a moment, but then kept trudging ahead as if nothing could stop her. 

Molly suddenly started sobbing. 

“Chloe, I’m scared. This is too much. I just want to go home,” Molly whimpered, clinging to Chloe, her voice trembling with 

fear. 

Chloe hugged Molly tight, pulling her into her arms. “What are you feeling?” 

Molly shook her head, shaking all over. “My chest hurts. It’s like something really scary is pressing down on me.” 

Her teeth chattered as she spoke, and her legs 

elt like jelly. 

“Chloe, this is way too dangerous. Even when my mom was almost beaten to death, I never had such a strong feeling of dread,” Molly whimpered, her voice barely above a whisper. 

With a wave, Chloe recalled the Phantom Zombie to her spiritual space, then shifted her gaze to William. 

This was his call. 

William pressed his lips together. “Captain Yates, my comrades are in there, and those meds could save countless lives.” 

After a brief pause, he said, “You all should leave.” 

He wasn’t about to guilt–trip anyone, but he wasn’t backing down either. 

“Have you thought about it? This could all be pointless. You and your team could get killed, and there’s no guarantee you’ll make it out alive!” Chloe said, her voice tight with worry. 

William didn’t say a word. He just looked over at Peyton. 

“Go back with Captain Yates. That’s an order,” William said. 

“No way,” Peyton snapped, not backing down. 

“That’s an order,” William said, voice hard as steel. 

Peyton was Graham’s only kid, and before Graham left, he’d entrusted Peyton to William for some real–world training. William couldn’t afford for anything to go wrong with him. 

Seeing Peyton’s bullheaded determination, William just felt a headache coming on. 

After a long pause, Chloe took a deep breath and said, “No guts, no glory. You guys get the meds, we get the Zombie King.” 

Zombie King! The words exploded out of everyone at once, shock/written all over their faces. 

Everyone felt a cold shiver run through them, breaking out in a cold sweat. 

“Zombie King! Captain Yates, are you serious?” William blurted out, staring at her in utter disbelief. 

Just the name alone was enough to make your blood run cold. 

Fighting a Zombie King was more like zero chance of survival. 

Chloe nodded. “That’s right. There’s a Zombie King that just evolved to fifth–level living in the hospital next door.”

Chapter 165 

She’d gotten that info by tapping into the Phantom Zombie’s mind through her spiritual space. 

It blew her mind; she was stunned for a long while after finding out. 

Normally, a fifth–level zombie wouldn’t show up until five” 

into the apocalypse, but it’s only been two months 

It must be Zombie King. 

Chloe wracked her brain, trying to recall the powers of the top ten Zombie Kings from her previous life. Which one could it be?‘ she wondered to herself. 

Then, it suddenly hit her. 

In her previous life, five years after 

King attacked, and the entire base, Pocalypse, Bluchaven Base was struck by an earth–shattering disaster. A Zombie 

in an instant, wiped off the map. 

“Frost Zombie King!” Chloe blurted out, her voice trembling with shock. 

Even when she died, it was still ranked third among all zombies. 

A cold shiver ran down Chloe’s spine, and her knees nearly buckled.
