Chapter 167Â
As Chloe opened her eyes, a surge of powerful energy burst out from him, and countless tiny tornadoes erupted from the ground, whirling through the air and tearing across the battlefield.Â
The air grew colder and colder, threatening to turn everyone into frozen statues.Â
At the same time, there was a commotion from Spotty’s side. It slowly rose to its feet, its fur turning pitch black, and its sharp claws looked as if they were coated in a rare, deadly poison.Â
With each breath, hot air blasted out, instantly turning the table in front of it to ashes.Â
“Meow.” Spotty was just about to bask in its own glory, but instead, it accidentally let out a cat’s meow. It froze, totally stunned.Â
Then it snarled at Chloe, baring its teeth.Â
“This is all that evil lady’s fault, Spotty grumbled to itself. ‘She’s always meowing at me just to mess with me!Â
Seeing everyone’s shocked faces, Spotty felt totally humiliated. It let out another roar, trying to reclaim its pride. “Roar.”Â
Chloe’s eyes went wide, and she nearly choked on her own spit.Â
Spotty’s reaction had everyone cracking up. Everyone couldn’t help but think, “That’s one seriously proud cheetah.Â
Brr! It was freezing.Â
The air suddenly got even colder. They shot a glance to the side and saw that the whole building was now encased in a thick layer of ice.Â
A blue eye appeared outside the sixth–floor window, now frozen solid. As creepy, raspy laughter echoed through the air, the entire building started to shake.Â
“Holy crap, so this is the Frost Zombie King’s power?” someone said.Â
Just the sound of his voice made the whole building shake. ‘What kind of godlike power is this?‘ someone thought.Â
‘Come on, are the heavens just messing with us? Is there any hope for humans at all?‘ someone cried out in despair.Â
Chloe pulled out armor from her spiritual space and gave it to those about to fight, then passed out walkie–talkies to theÂ
team.Â
“I’m freezing, seriously freezing,” someone muttered.Â
Everyone except Chloe looked absolutely blue from the cold, even though they were geared up to the teeth, wrapped in layer after layer from head to toe.Â
But even with all that protection, the bone–chilling cold still made them shiver uncontrollably.Â
Their bodies were stiff as boards, let alone fighting; just standing up made their legs shake.Â
From the look on the Frost Zombie King’s face outside, it was having the time of its life, totally amused by how the humans inside were reacting.Â
“It’s just toying with us, playing cat and mouse, waiting to see us struggle and die in misery,” Dallas said, her voice full of despair.Â
Her words hit everyone like a punch to the gut; the mood in the room instantly crashed.Â
Chapter 167Â
Chloe locked her gaze on the Frost Zombie King, every weapon in her spiritual space at the ready. In a flash a power drill materialized in her hand.Â
“Get ready for battle,” she said.Â
Chloe grabbed the power drill and hurried downstairs, stopping at the main entrance. She fired up the drill and bored a hole straight through the thick layer of ice.Â
A small smile appeared on Chloe’s lips.Â
Well, since the Frost Zombie King wants to play games, at least we won’t die right away. Being frozen inside this building means we’re safe for now, Chloe thought to herself.Â
Only Chloe, Noah, and Spotty were able to join the fight.Â
Everyone else was frozen solid, completely out of commission.Â
Oddly enough, even though Noah was a lightning–powered human, the freezing cold didn’t seem to affect him at all.Â
Chloe, Noah, and Spotty shot out of the ice tunnel like shadows.Â
The storm outside was even fiercer, and for the first time, even Chloe, who was usually unfazed by the cold, felt a shiver run down her spine.Â
Getting close to the Frost Zombie King, the temperature had to be at least minus 150 degrees out here.Â
Chloe was seriously glad she hadn’t brought the other powered humans out, and that they’d kept the furnace running inside. Otherwise, they would’ve been frozen solid before the Frost Zombie King even lifted a finger.Â
The moment Chloe, Noah, and Spotty showed up, the Frost Zombie King looked down at them like they were nothing but insignificant ants, just like people watching ants scramble helplessly at their feet.Â
With a single stomp, the three instantly darted in different directions. The ground exploded into jagged shards, and the whole building teetered dangerously, as if it could come crashing down any second.Â
“Let’s get out of here. Move!” Chloe called out urgently.Â
Without wasting a second, the three of them bolted straight for the Medical Tower.Â
The Frost Zombie King let out a mocking, guttural roar, clearly amused that these three little ants had managed to dodge his stomp. He lumbered after them, his massive body bearing down relentlessly.Â
He wasn’t fast, but every step spanned dozens of feet. Whenever his gray feet hit the ground, thick ice radiated outward from where they landed, instantly freezing everything around him.Â
Strangely enough, even though Chloe had a speed–type power, she was actually the slowest runner of the three. But she had. her spiritual space up her sleeve.Â
Just as Noah tried to grab her, Chloe blinked out of existence and popped up 30 feet away in the blink of an eye.Â
“Hey, you freak! If you think you can kill me, come and get me! Too slow, can’t catch me!” Chloe shouted, her voice full of playful mockery as she darted away.Â
Even with his dull mind, the Frost Zombie King could tell she was taunting him.Â
The Frost Zombie King immediately gave up on the other two, letting out a weird, mocking screech. With a flick of his finger, a jagged chunk of ice instantly appeared right where Chloe had just been standing.Â
The ice block was big, its surface bristling with sharp, jagged spikes.Â

But it was just a hunk of ice, nothing trapped inside.Â
“Roar!” Zombie King slammed its massive foot into the ground, totally stunned that a mere human had actually slipped past its freezing grasp.Â
Chloe suddenly popped up right behind him. Seriously? With skills like that, you call yourself the Frost Zombie King? Don’t make me laugh!”Â
Zombie King snarled. It pointed its finger again, and Chloe blinked out of sight. Instantly, another jagged block of ice appeared right where she’d just been.Â
“Pathetic! I’m over here!” Chloe called out, her voice suddenly coming from his left.Â
Then, in a blink, she was on his right, and the next second, sheÂ
the Medical Tower.Â
She was like a whack–a–mole, popping up one moment and gone the next. Just when one thought one had caught her, she’d already disappeared again.Â
As time went on, the Frost Zombie King was finally enraged. It furiously stomped the ground in place, making the earth cave in beneath his massive feet.Â
At the same time, Chloe gave Noah and Spotty a quick signal. One man and one cheetah sneaked quietly into the Medical Tower, making sure not to draw any attention.Â
The Frost Zombie King was so caught up in its own frenzy that it didn’t even realize its toys were about to be rescued. Its piercing blue eyes stayed glued to Chloe, fixated and unblinking.Â
“What are you looking at? Pathetic! You can’t even lay a finger on me!” Chloe jeered.Â
“Roar!” The Frost Zombie King’s attacks grew even more violent. As the battle dragged on, Chloe could barely catch her breath, let alone get a word in.Â
Every time she appeared, she was almost instantly frozen, barely able to react before the icy grip closed in.Â
Thankfully, she had her spiritual space. She hadn’t entered it in a long while, so plenty of time had built up inside, enough for her to keep up the fight and outlast the Frost Zombie King.Â
Lucky for them, this Frost Zombie King had only just leveled up to the fifth level.Â
It was all about straight–up power, no tricks, no scheming, just brute force.Â
If it ever got smarter, it would start threatening her friends to get to her. That’d be a whole new level of trouble.Â
The Frost Zombie King was even more powerful than Chloe had imagined. There was absolutely no way she could take him head–on.Â
She kept slipping in and out of her spiritual space, dodging his attacks. That was the only move she could rely on now.Â
‘Doesn’t matter if you’re human or some kind of mutant beast, everyone runs out of powers sooner or later,‘ Chloe wondered. ‘And when you’re out, you gotta recharge.Â
‘That’s when the Frost Zombie King is vulnerable, and that’s our chance to strike.Â
As Chloe kept vanishing and reappearing all over the place, the Frost Zombie King just stopped even bothering to look for her anymore.Â
His arms stretched out wide, flipping his palms to the sky, and as he slowly lifted them, a forest of razor–sharp ice spikes erupted from the ground, threatening to turn the entire battlefield into a frozen wasteland.Â

Chloe sat in her spiritual space, panting hard as she watched everything happen outside. Her eyes narrowed as she took it all in.Â
Tm totally trapped!‘ she thought, her heart sinking.Â
She glanced at the ice spikes, harder than steel, sharper than any blade.Â
Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. “These things are seriously badass. If I don’t stash them in my spiritual space, that’d be a total waste!‘Â
